After three and a half weeks of dealing with people who simply don't want to make a deal and go below advertised price, I finally found the truck I wanted here, and bought it. After I signed all the paperwork, I was told by my salesman that GM only sent them one keyfob, and the other one was "in the mail". To add to that, I got home and noticed a large one inch scratch on the left front fender. When I called, they admitted to knowing about it and said it happened in transport, and the sales person forgot to tell me about it. This is very poor business practice, borderline deceptive. They are offering to fix it, but have not pinned down a date or time. We will see. My experience thusfar with GM in general has been very poor. If this dealer does me right, I will amend this review, but so far I am not feeling good about it. UPDATE: They gave me a loaner vehicle while my new truck was gone (delivered to my house), and fixed the damage. I now have two keyfobs. They corrected the problem. We broke down on our way to Asheville. We had our truck towed here over the weekend. The looked at it on Monday and made the initial diagnosis that the transfer case needed to be replaced but it took them til Friday to actually replace the transfer case. When they went to replace the transfer case they found another problem with the transmission but couldn't get it looked at until Monday. On the 2nd Friday that they'd had the car (2 full weeks now) they told me it still wouldn't be done until the following week. I asked what needed to be done and they said they still had to install the transfer case and the drive shaft. Only an hour later I called back and they said the parts were back in the vehicle but they still wouldn't get the car to me until Monday. There was still a couple hours left before they closed and all they had to do was put some fluid in and test drive it but they wouldn't give me the car back til Monday. Only after I demanded my car back and showed up in person did they get the work done. Jim Cook's knew I was broke down and did not care about the customer at all. They are incredibly slow and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend Jim Cook's to anyone. read more

Went to have a mechanical issue in my small RV conversion van checked out. When I returned to my vehicle afterwards, I found everything, and I do mean everything, from my living quarters on the floor. Even the bathroom doors were open, and had been shut partway, but the wrong way. Things from the bathroom were strewn helter-skelter across the aisle. I went back, got the service manager, and showed him, but he shrugged it off saying the employee who had done the work had never done anything like this before and he could not explain how this could have happened. Since I couldn't get any satisfaction from him I took a video of the unbelievable mess and showed it to the general manager. He also stuck up for his employees, but offered me a wash job as compensation. Since I actually don't live here, I probably won't get anything. When I bought my car from Jim Cook, almost 4 years ago, part of the promotion at the time was $9.99 oil changes. Since it's cheaper than if I were to do this myself, I always bring my car in...until now. Over the past 4 years, the quickest I have been in and out for an oil change has been just under 2 hours. Today, I scheduled the service for 8:00 and was the first car in. It is now 9:30 and I just got my car back- record timing!!!! The worst service I have ever received. I made an appointment online which they did not honor the appointment I was told I would have to be worked in. I gave instructions online concerning the issue. The service person did not comprehend or is just incompetent. When I came to get my vehicle my left front tire was flat. When I confronted I was told they would fix the tire for a fee. My tires are new and were not any issues when dropped off my vehicle for repair. The only thing I got of Jim Cook Chevy was a flat tire . They didn't fix the problem I initially needed fixed. Had a major engine issue while traveling in NC. The service department at Jim Cook went out of their way to get the car repaired (warranty work - new engine) in a timely fashion and arrange for temporary transportation while we were in town waiting for the repairs.
