My employer hired this company to transport my toolbox (a 56" box with a hutch) from my home to a shop in Timonium. No issues then. Transferred to another shop in Perry Hall and this time when we used them, they damaged the top of my hutch beyond repair. Claimed they're not responsible for any damages which is complete crap AND also tell us that they're trained professionals. When we called to inquire about the damages they told us "while our people are trained professionals, this is very common when transporting toolboxes". If it's so common when transporting toolboxes, maybe you guys shouldn't be in the business of moving them. Would rate 0 stars if I could. read more

Customer Perspective: I have had both our Audi and BMW towed by Jim Elliott's for either flat tire issues or engine concerns. All drivers have been super courteous and respectful. If you're in a pinch for time and in the local Towson area, they're great! The most recent experience didn't have my vehicle going far which was cost effective. Their pickup was $100 then $5/mile. $105 later, it was there, safe, and sound! They usually arrive within the hour you call, depending on their work load, and where they are dispatched from. All individuals on the phone have been pleasant as well. They're usually really quick and to the point. That's normal of the industry though. Auto Service Industry Perspective: As a service advisor, we would receive vehicle in off tow trucks almost daily. Out of all the tow truck companies in the greater Baltimore and local Baltimore area, they were always the most pleasant to work with. We also noticed how well they handled all vehicles on their trucks. They treated the vehicle's like it was their own personal. If you need a tow that not 100% emergency, I would call Jim Elliott's. If you're in an emergency, 911, AAA, or your roadside assistance might be a little quicker. Besides that, they're phenomenal to work with. The male who answered the telephone stated that the front bumper of my VW CC jad to be removed before the car could be placed on a flatbed. When I informed this person that the car had been placed on and removed from a flatbed without removing either bumper and the bumpers never came in contact with the found, he screamed, "We're not going to be responsible for any damage to the bumper if it isn't removed. In both times, I paid by providing my bank card information to the driver who then then took this information to the company's location for processing. Soon after, 11 days later, almost $3,000 were withdrawn from my account. had my car towed to dealership. Driver was suppose to drop the keys in the night drop off box, but never did. I called asking what happened, they said the driver said he had put my keys INSIDE the car along with the receipt. The keys weren't inside the car. Or in the night drop off box. The gentleman that came out, I believe his name was Ralph, was the MOST friendly person I have ever met. He was kind hearted, understanding, and helped me get into my car in no time flat. Called Geico Roadside car would not start dead battery .They set out Jim Elliott's towing after waiting an hour the tow truck showed up the driver got out with this really small box size of two cigarette packs . I said that will start my car he said yes well it didn't . He said I have a starter problem that I needed to be towed I said tow to Done Rite auto they do good work .He said I need address with in two mins I was reading address off to him . He told for me to call back Geico and drove off let me sit there . Yes he drove off let a Handicap person sit there . I called Done Rite they came in 20 mins. and got a jump box and jumped my car and it started . Then I drove to Done Rite had new Battery installed . Driver was super polite, had it on his rig in a few minutes and took it to the service place (Padonia Auto - they are the best). Bill will come through Padonia. Reserved a truck for 3/16. Went to pick it up and was told they had no trucks. They said they had called to tell me no trucks were available. They didn't call. 3/18 I see the $50 debit to my credit card, called them and they said they couldn't help. Called Budget and they told me the charge was because I was a no show. I was giving address for pick up and before I could give the name of dealership, I was cut off with "$75 hookup, $4 a mile". When I tried continuing, I kept getting cut off with quote. I thanked him. Then I called back and started off with the info about dealership, but kept getting cut off by price. Person was so rude. Please, I'm writing this review for a reason. Save yourself time, money, and pulling out your hair by going somewhere else. They took an extremely long time (over an hour and I was located 5 minutes away from their location) for them to come to me even though they said it would be less than an hour. When they did pick my car up, finally, they dropped it off to the wrong house!! It wasn't even CLOSE to mine! When I called the office back to tell them they made an error, they acted like it was MY fault (like I would give them a false address to drop off my car....really?!) and were EXTREMELY rude an not at all helpful. Eventually I was able to contact the driver who was helpful, took off the last 2 miles for me and he EVEN AGREED that whoever runs the office is an immature dick. And that's coming from an employee. Called to schedule a tow, they told me three separate times that their truck would be at the site within an hour. The guy making the schedule gave me lots of grief over the fact that I had to be sure of the timing since he didn't want his driver waiting for me. Overall, a very unpleasant interaction to begin with. I waited for 1:15 and then got a call from the company saying they were just now on their way, and at least 30mins out. When I pointed out they should have let me know when they knew they were not going to make the original schedule, they argued with me that it was "impossible" to know when their trucks would be free. That can't be true except if they have zero awareness of where any of their drivers/trucks are at any time, otherwise they could have called to tell me there was no truck on the way 45mins after I called. I would not schedule a tow with Jim Elliott again even if it were offered for free. A complete waste of time. read more
