You will not find a more fun, family themed beautiful college baseball park. Games back when I went for free and other than watching one of colleges best baseball teams it has a full playground, fun inflatable games and an amazing layout. You should absolutely come out and enjoy a game sometime. GO CARDS!!

Tis a treacherous journey, visiting the home ground of your arch rival. Where people with intricately shaved line beards dress in various shades of red and dance around the ballpark like the heathen kings of old. It's unpleasant, unwholesome, and unwelcoming. But fear not. You will enjoy the facilities. And you're likely to have a good time. And also know... Louisville shan't be good forever; Righteousness will win the day; and good shall overcome.

"Take me out to the ball game, Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack, I don't care if I never get back, Let me root, root, root for the home team, If they don't win it's a shame. For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out, At the old ball game." Even those that aren't baseball fans can likely appreciate that verse. When it comes to pastimes, there's not much better than kicking back on a sunny day and enjoying a ballgame. Even better when you can do it for nothing at all. What Louisville lacks in a Major League team, they make up in love of the game, at both the minor league and college level. You can tell by the venues. In the shadow of Papa John's Cardinal Stadium along Central Avenue, sits Jim Patterson Stadium, the home of the UofL Cardinal's baseball team. Jim Patterson is a UofL baseball alum and co-founder of Long John Silver's, but don't hold that against him, it's a quality little baseball field. Seating about 1,500 in the grandstand plus possibly another 1,000 seats available on the backside and a playground for the kids, a baseball game at Patterson is a nice way to spend an afternoon or early evening in Louisville. My one complaint would be to have a scoreboard viewable for the fans on the backside, for parents who are interested in checking the score while keeping an eye on their kids. It would be a benefit to be able to see the score without having to peer through the fenceline

Beautiful day to come watch baseball. Always a good time with a good crew.

One the best places to watch college baseball in America. Always fun watching UofL Baseball. Come out and enjoy a game. The admission is free. Can't beat that.

    Go Cards!!

What a gorgeous stadium. This is a one of the most intimate stadiums to watch baseball I have been to. There is not a bad seat in the house. This park was very well thought out when designed. I can't wait for the next cardinals home game.

What a beautiful stadium!!! During regular season games there is zero admission cost. They have a playground in the outfield for the kiddos and seats with backs in the infield. Bring a blanket and sit out on the grass while the kiddos play. Take in the University of Louisville Cardinals baseball game on a beautiful day.

Even aficionados of everything about the state fair would have to concede its lack of architectural or ecological merit. But thanks to Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness, I can associate this airy little rodeo arena with happy memories of the county's first wide-scale COVID vaccination effort. I enjoyed a good dozen shifts rubbing elbows with a bunch of other do-gooders, and it was so much fun to take part in it. This review coincides with the wrap-up of this use of the space, and so it can serve as a requiem as much as a review. Next week it will serve the Kosair Circus, followed by several graduations. But may its 6-month life as a vaccination drive-thru serve as a reminder that there are times when even a creaky old arena in the center of a treeless landscape can be a lifeline and that true public spaces hold great potential for our communities when we let good organizations have that chance.

The entrance sits across the street from the main entrance area of Uofl home football stadium cardinal stadium. The entrance is actually maintained and monitored by event security. I didn't make it to the season opener against eku for the 2021 season but for the second game we played central Florida on a Friday night (and won!) so before I entered the stadium I decided to check this new experience out. Event security wands and checks you before entering. Upon entering there is a large spacious area for food trucks, beer trucks and a huge turf area full of corn hole boards. There was a stage with a live band playing and they had an outdoor bar that was packed to the gills so I didn't get a great look. They have a nice inside area that was Rsvp only. The vibe and atmosphere here was great. Plenty of fun tailgate activities. Cool food trucks for pizza or bbq and plenty of places to buy beer or harder alcohol beverages. In the very back is a patrolled bathroom that is a roll of port o pots protected behind a wooden fence for extra privacy. Everything here was well down. Very visually pleasing and cool cards decor. I think the alley is going to be immensely popular and foresee it becoming a long standing fun pre game tradition for Uofl football games. I look forward to what the future holds for the alley. And as always.....Go Cards!

Another great experience at the Kentucky State Fair!…read more Going to the fair isn't the cheapest, but you're guaranteed to see some funny, awesome, one-of-a-kind things. This includes: * The cow costume contest! I know I wrote about this in my past review, but this seems to be an overlooked aspect of the fair. Cows and their kid handlers dress up in coordinating costumes. The creativity, the uncooperative cows and inopportune moos, the announcer just trying to keep up with it all -- it is a sight! * All of the livestock and animals you can get up and close with. These folks really take pride in their animals. Love to see it! * The great arts, crafts and other odd bits entered to win ribbons. I love it with people go big on their niche interests, and this is the Super Bowl (or at least the state version) for this. * The food! Every year something more and more adventurous and out there gets introduced. I didn't get to do as much epicurious exploring, but you know it's all there. * The rides. My kids are getting old enough to look forward to this. While this is sure to make an expensive experience even more so, I know we'll be spending more time here in years to come. There was construction around the fairgrounds this year, which made getting to where we needed to go a bit difficult, but I'm excited to see what the expo center expansion means for the fair in years to come. The state fair is its own thing, and I'm here for it.
