I was at the Les Schwab next door getting a season tire rotation and the kind sales person recommended Jimboy's Tacos for lunch. I had been only once to a different Jimboy's location 10 years ago when I first moved here from Florida and thought the food was too Americanized. I decided to give Jimboy's another chance especially since this location was rebuilt a few years ago pre-pandemic after being burned down. The place is new outside and inside. The cashier was friendly young man and recommend the ground beef tacos. I went with the GB taco and bean burrito combo. When I looked at the receipt I was pleasantly surprised and reminded of my advancing age since the cashier gave me a 10% senior discount! The food came out and everything tasted fine. The food is indeed Americanized as was evident by the many white seniors dining in and the absence of any Mexican people. Nonetheless I really enjoyed my meal and am looking forward to coming back. read more

We heard great things about this place. We were visiting and a friend recommended the spot. We ordered basic tacos a six pack. 3 chicken and 3 beef. The size of the tacos were pretty big. Service was quick and easy. Basic fast food service. Clean establishment. I really like the chicken tacos. I'll have to try something else next time but overall great. Loved all the salsa sauces. Always a reliable good fast food place. The food is great and reasonably. I like the cheese topping on the outside of the tacos.

I'm not a huge fan of the tacos and Jimboy's, but I've discovered recently that I really enjoy their burritos, particularly the Steak Tahoe Burrito. I also like their taco sauce and the fresh salsas they offer. The flavors are tasty and the ingredients feel very fresh for a fast food place. This location was very modern, clean and nicely decorated for Christmas. I would come back here again. read more

12/23/21 I was driving by and decided to stop by and check out Jimboy Tacos. This location has a convenient drive thru. No line as I had came right after lunch rush. I ordered the family pack of 6 Jimboy tacos and made it a family meal with rice, beans and chips for an added fee. It was pricier than I expected for some tacos. Overall tacos were just ok and I suggest eating it fresh and hot. It's not all that great cold to me. I didn't find them super special or authentic. I was definitely spoiled in the bay. Jimboy is apparently known as the original American taco and is pretty popular in this area as I have driven by a few locations. read more

Disappointed. Haven't been to Jimboy's in a while. Before work I stopped in to grabbed a few tacos. I wanted a crunch with the dusted parmesan. One I got to work, I was so disappointed when I took them out the sleeves. No Parmesan on the outside and very little meat. I did not go to Bidwell. This is only about their menu. Service is fast. Efficient. Food....ok I've tried Jimboys 4 times. Again, awful. Stuffed Quesadilla this time. First of all the parmesean (Italian) on the outside of a tortilla. Why??? I forgot to ask them to hold it. The only taste description I can come up with is it tasted like a bad meatloaf or um something. The bacon was bacon bits!!!!I couldn't finish it. The sour cream and diced tomatoes on the side-(why not put inside? ) roll off the top when you try to scoop them up-and there isn't near enough of either for three wedges. And the gawd awful American cheese on a quesadilla?!?! Or taco?! WHY? Four times is enough to know I hate their food. How do they stay in business? I literally live across the street. Wonderful service, very friendly employees at Marconi location. Fresh food and very clean.

Pros- Nicely grilled tacos with their famous Parmesan dusting on exterior that you'd come to expect, however ..... many negatives left to be desired. Cons- Near empty tacos! The tacos were only half filled. This is the only Jimboy's franchise that measures their taco filling. There are too many fast food choices for your money. If you can't get what other Jimboy's typically provide, this is going to be a No-Go location. Drive thru cashier never asked me if I wanted sauce, he throws in there a few packets instead. I will toss these out. Had he asked me, I would have been reminded to get the fresh mild salsa they make. All the other Jimboy's ask me at drive thrus. I ordered a ground beef super nachos minus the sour cream to go. When I got home I noticed they only put beans , Queso, and a couple of tomatoes on my nachos. Its supposed to come with meat, green onions and olives too. I made the 15 minute trip back so they could fix my order. Upon my arrival I got no appology- they acted as if I were an inconvenience to them. No offer to make it right- they could have thrown in a taco or at least an apology. How do you forget to put the ground beef on ground beef super nachos? AND then make the customer feel like they are bothering them when all they want is to get what they paid for. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Jimboy's Tacos. I always grew up seeing these around Sacramento county. What I did not realize, is they're a fairly small fast food chain that started on the border of California and Nevada in Lake Tahoe. They only have 40 locations throughout California, Nevada, and Texas. Seeing them all the time, I just sort of figured they were all throughout the country. Anyways, I pull up to this Jimboy's on East Bidwell because I haven't had it in a few months. I used to go to other locations every so often, but I really wasn't a big fan of it. Every single taco has a parmesan dusted corn tortilla. In theory, I like the idea of coating the tortilla in parmesan cheese. In practicality, I'm a huge texture person and never was the biggest fan of it. So I stopped eating there, but this location is close by for my lunch breaks. There was one car in front of me and they were served fairly quickly. I ordered four tacos which took about 5 minutes to get. This was fairly fast service considering there was a car in front of me. Customer service seemed like the employees were having a rough day. That's fine, everyone has bad days, no big deal. At the end of the day, it's the food we care about. I ended up getting two grilled chicken tacos, one bean taco, and one steak taco. Despite not being a fan of the parmesan when I was younger, I felt it was time to give them another chance. The chicken tacos were some of the blandest foods I've ever had in my life. They didn't have any parmesan on the shells, and the sauce tasted gross. Here's the kicker, there was no sauce that came on it, and the parmesan was yellow and clumped in the paper wrapping. The sauce I took a bite into was nothing but straight grease, which I believe kept the cheese from sticking to the shell, as they were soaked with it. The bean taco was actually pretty good but lacked depth and was a bit room temperature. It was just refried beans with some lettuce and cheese. It's definitely a safe food that a bean and cheese burrito lover would like. Finally we get to the carnitas taco. I absolutely love carnitas and will order it most places I go. I was excited at first, but then quickly turned disappointed. The carnitas taco was very dry and lacked the flavor it so desperately needed. Quick notes: Chicken Taco: 1/10 for lack of parmesan, tons of grease, bland flavor. Bean Taco: 5/10 for lukewarm temperature. Carnitas Taco: 3/10 for being dry and lack of flavor. Overall, I give this Jimboy's a 3/10 based off of that experience. This location is easy to get to on my lunch break, so I'm sure I'll be back to try the burritos and other foods. I hope that next time will be better though. read more

Same flavor, which has always been good, but something was missing. Oh, I know, the filling. My grandkids chose Taco Tuesday at Jimboys. It wasn't a normal Taco Tuesday discount as it was only 33 cents. Why give a discount at all but I guess it's because they left out 33 cents worth of meat. I'd rather have the meat. There is a barcode on the app to scan, but she said that doesnt work...no help at all! She just looked at me expecting me to know how to use their own app! I like the way they put parmesan cheese on the outside of the taco. Tacos were nice and crispy plenty of lettuce plenty of ground beef seasoning and altogether very good taco. The wild Pacific cod taco had plenty of cabbage and lettuce I added onions and I put their house-made mild sauce on it was very tasty. Also ordered this big monster burrito of theirs. The burrito had typical stuff you put in burritos it just had more in it and was a lot bigger it took me up to settings to eat the whole thing. Guacamole with just basically mashed up avocados nothing really special but if you added the tomatillo sauce to it a little bit of onion made it not taste l Bland. read more

I grew up in the Sacramento area and have now lived all over Southern California for the last 30 years and Jimboy's is by far my favorite fast food style taco. You can't come anywhere close to it in SoCal. They taste the same now as they did when I lived here 30 years ago. This particular location was clean, the service was helpful and friendly and the food was perfect. I will miss it terribly when I go back home. read more

Asked for no avocado as receipt shows and what lucky surprise did I get? Avocado. The stuff makes me sick literally so I said it several times as receipt shows. Get my order thank goodness I always check my food to find these lovely green turds in there. Luckily roommate was able to eat it I wasn't hungry after seeing them. Stopped by here 'cause 1. It's Jimboys. 2. It has a drive through. 3. Didn't want to get the kids out of the car, again. 4. I didn't want what the kids wanted. Got myself some tacos and a taco burger. I have been inside this location a few times and it is always impeccably clean and the staff is always friendly. On today's drive through, again they were friendly and service was very fast. On the food...I have been to many Jimboys locations and even though they are all very similar, everyone does things a little different. This location is one of the few that gets the shells a bit more to the crispy side, rather than the floppy side. Which I personally appreciate. As far as the taco burger goes, this location really loads up the toppings, which I great appreciate as well. For this visit, Great Job! Nice, clean, fast, yummy. How can this place call itself a franchise? Their menu is nothing like the original and the ingredients are awful! We went there last night and it was the WORST food ever. We ordered enchiladas and chicken tacos. No shredded chicken is available. We usually order chili relleno, but they have removed them from the menu. We threw away everything except the tacos. Canned thick cold beans, cheese sauce instead of shredded cheese, nothing was warm and it was flavorless! We have been going to Jimboys for years and will never return to the Folsom location. They need to change their name...it is NOT anything like it should be. The only similarity was the prepackaged taco sauce that bears their name. Other than that, no bueno. Makes me sad read more

Wow! Beware! I have respect for the employees of Jimboys but the stupid paranoid local people and health department makes the indoor eating a bummer. You can not get soda refills. Me and my 6 person family will not be be eating at Jimboys until this changes. Jimboy's American Tacos in Folsom on Bidwell provided a very good dinner yesterday. We ordered a take out family pack! Six American tacos, big bag of chips, big bowl of beans, a big bowl is Spanish rice. They provide mild salsa & taco sauce with utensils, napkins etc. The left overs were eaten the next day. They are easy to heat up and tasted good. We will be making Jimboy's one of our regular places to eat Tacos etc. See you read more

Every time I am up in Folsom area from Monterey I stop at this Jimboy's. Great food and good service.

Quality of food is decent. My only major complaint is how weird it is when asking for sauce. I spend $25-30 worth of food and have to beg for extra sauce EVERYTIME. Mind you, I'm only asking enough for my order. Not that they care but this will be the reason I never come back. Quite short sided in my opinion. read more

Customer Service is just as important as the quality of the food. Today I received HORRIBLE service from the Cashier Leah in Drive Thru window. ( all she had to do was hand me my food ) To start she didn't even greet me, no Hello, How are you? Or even a smile. I placed my order at 1:42pm ( shown in the picture ) so the BIG lunch rush had already passed. So back to why I'm leaving this review. I wasn't greeted by Leah, when she handed me my drink it spilled all over my lap! She didn't apologize AT ALL! She then handed me my food. I looked in the bag and noticed there were only 3 hot sauce packets and I asked if I can have a few more. She RUDELY rolled her eyes and gave me a few more.. I didn't understand her attitude towards me. It's really unfortunate that my first visit at this newly opened location went this way. I will leave with this, if you're looking for a great Crunchy taco and don't care about the service that you receive, this spot will work for you. However, if you're someone who can appreciate good customer service, this is not the place for that. Leah, I advise you to try offering service with a smile. This takes little effort and goes a long way. Also, I would recommend apologizing when you spill on someone.
