I had never been to this location and thought it was a real dining restaurant. We tried to take my in-laws to dinner in Old Folsom, but it was packed and had no parking on a Thursday night. We were absolutely starving and they wanted Mexican food. We asked Waze for a restaurant and ended up here. The food was delicious, well portioned, and a good price. They were very busy at 7 pm on a weekday, and we grabbed the last outdoor table near the front door. Though it wasn't the traditional dinner outing we had planned, we couldn't have been happier with the service and the food. The tables were clean and it worked out beautifully. Amazing and accommodating place! I love the Carne Asada Nachos and the Carne Asada Plate! So good! May I add that the Cantaloupe Agua Fresca is delicious without being too sweet? It's so flavorful and refreshing! My husband liked the Pineapple one too. This place is also fantastic for big groups, and I love how laid back it is. The service is quick, and the servers are incredibly helpful. The only thing I didn't like is the Horchata. It's pretty much a sugary cake in a drink. This is my favorite taqueria in Folsom. And seems to be for a lot of other folks as well. They draw a crowd. The food is delicious and the prices are taqueria priced. My faves are the seafood ceviche tostada, asada crispy taco, and menudo (served on the weekends). The seafood ceviche is a combination of octopus, shrimp, and fish. It tasted super fresh, clean,and bright. Plus had the perfect amount of cilantro, some places overload it in the ceviche. On my last visit, the ceviche was piled high onto the tostada. Beautiful sight . The crispy taco is always a good standby. Fresh fried taco shell. All the meats are seasoned and marinated well. Great flavors. The menudo is delicious and only served on the weekends. The complimentary chips and salsa bar are fantastic. The chips are fresh tasting. They are kept in an enclosed warmer. The salsa bar is quite impressive. Plentiful with various salsas. But no salsa verde. Plus do not sleep on the complimentary bean dip. It is in a warmer to the left of the salsa bar. That stuff is delish. Another cool thing about this place is that they have an outdoor patio with a good number of seats. However, the burrito was lacking flavor. It was bland, and the Pico de Gallo in it was too tart or sour. Considering portion, the burrito was made of 2/3 meat, and 1/6 each of rice and Pico de Gallo with some pinto beans in the mix. I'd like more rice and less Pico. I also had a side of extra Pico, bean dip, and salsa. The Pico worked well with their tortilla chips. The salsa had a slight chipotle flavor, but also seemed sour or tart. We stopped by this restaurant on our way to see my daughter this morning. We wanted Breakfast Burritos. We ordered 3 different types. I had the Breakfast Burrito with Eggs, Ham, Beans, Potatoes, cheese and salsa. The other 2 were a Chorizo instead of Ham and the last one was Shredded Pork (Carnitas) with all the previously mentioned items. They burritos were very nice sized, so be hungry or eat 1/2 and save the other half for later or split with a friend. They have a Salsa Bar to get the condiments you need. We used to eat here pretty often. My kids love this place, I love this place the food is so delicious. Until few months ago my mother in law as usual went to pick up dinner and brought it home. As she began to have dinner she put rice in her mouth and she felt a hard something and chipped her tooth. As she spit out to look, it was a cough drop. How disgusting is this. She is pretty elderly, I was so upset when she told me. We than called the restaurant to notify them that someone must have dropped their cough drop in the rice. The cashier lady starts questioning her as she made it all up. Pretty disappointing. When she sees my mil going into their establishment once a week at least. Anyways, management got involved and they took care of her chipped tooth payment to the dentist. But I refuse to eat there anymore. This place even has outdoor sitting and it's really nice. When eating my rice and beans I had found a small brown hair in my food. Once bringing this up to the server, she was quick to say that it was a piece of plastic from a plastic utensil, which is black in color. Regardless, I don't know how a business can feel prideful behind serving anything in a dish that is not edible food. The server walked away as I was in the middle of explaining why it was a hair (hair stretches when it is wet and it had a split end) and brought out the manager. My interaction with the manager went the same way as he had the same argument as the waitress. He was passive aggressive when he walked away to bring me another plate of rice and beans. Woohoo the best Mexican joint in Folsom. Whenever, someone visits, I will take them here. On weekdays they have lunch specials. I always get the carnitas plate - extra well done for their meat and sub the veggies in for extra rice. I use to really love this place but things have changed in the last eight or nine months. The food doesn't quite taste like it use to, also they've now messed up 2 orders. The restaurant is located on the corner of a large shopping center that includes a mall and sever outer business buildings and restaurants. The restaurant is very bright with lots of windows. You order, are given a number, get your condiments and drink and find a seat. Your order is delivered to you. There is a patio with lots of seating as well. I visited during lunch and it was quite busy, but everyone seems to be getting served in a timely matter and tables are cleaned swiftly. The staff were friendly and efficient - keeping the tables clean debris removed. There is a daily list of lunch specials served from 11-2 and a limited beer, wine, and Margarita offering for those so inclined. They fed my number one pet peeve: serving a "crispy" taco laid on hot beans and rice, thereby rendering the taco less crispy on one side, thus allowing the insides to break through the shell! I was able to salvage the taco before it got too soggy. I ordered my taco with cabeza- meat from the head of the cow. It was tender and flavorful with some of the gristle attached, which I very much enjoyed. There are a number of meat options from which you can choose, in addition to the standard beef and chicken. That was a real plus fr me. Lettuce, sour cream, tomato, and guacamole topped the taco and completed a delicious bite! A sign noted that the refried beans are cooked with chorizo. That added a bit of unwelcome salt for me, but they were tasty.The cheese enchilada in red sauce and the rice were pretty standard for most Mexican restaurants. The portions were quite ample and while I came in hungry, I walked out quite full and unable to eat everything. What was left was not quite enough for a "doggy bag", it was a bit more than I like to leave. As I looked at my check, it appears that the cabeza meat came with an added cost of $1.95. I was not aware of the upcharge. I probably did not pay attention on the menu. All in all, I think this was a good find in Folsom and would have no problem returning whenever I'm in the neighborhood and want a Mexican meal. read more

When I asked if the rice on the vegetarian taco and vegetarian burrito was different she said no then how can it be vegetarian if you're using rice that has chicken stock in it and she said she didn't know. But she didn't bother to go and ask somebody either. We had been here before, but the food this time was subpar and the service was worse.
