This is all about SERVICE. I tried to join their waitlist but could not, thought it was glitching because of Mother's Day. I called no answer, then I drove over at 1:30- joined their list and was told 2.5 hrs. Ok, no problem. Over 3 hours later - still maybe 45 mins. I'm so done. Unnecessary waste of time on Mother's Day It is Mother's Day and super busy but be realistic about time, they are the worst when it comes being realistic. People waited 4 hours, no thank you. We only dined once before for my moms birthday and experienced the same wait times. If you are down to wait for hours go ahead. This has to be stressful for the staff as well. We did get a table, as I'm writing this. I will edit my review after

Food was absolutely on point from the tacos, enchiladas, and fresh guacamole to the beef birria chimichanga, which might've been my favorite thing ever. But honestly, the pinwheels instead of the usual chips and salsa? GENIUS. 10/10 food across the board. The service was just as amazing... server was attentive, kind, and patient even while busy. The vibes here are a solid 100. If you're celebrating a birthday, they come out with a sparkler and a drink to celebrate, which made the experience even more fun. I absolutely love the decor here. It is elevated and makes you feel like you're in a different city! Idk, it's just a beautiful place to take someone on a date, have food with friends, or for a celebration. Highly recommend...this is a must visit spot. I'll definitely be back again and again!

We walked in on a Sun to a beautiful mariachi playing live music. The place is gorg inside and has really nice vibes. You could sit at the bar for a quicker wait time but it took about 30-40 mins for us to get a table. Everyone was super nice though. Once we sat down, things happened quickly. It took about 5 mins for our drinks to come but once we ordered our app guac, It came out really fast. We ordered our food and it came within 5 mins piping hot. I got the garlic shrimp which I was a lil more garlicky. My daughter got pastor/asada tacos which she said were really good and my hubs got shrimp tacos. Even though they were breaded, he said they were soft and delicious. Overall the food was really good and it didn't seem like a lot but we all walked out stuffed. We def will be back!

I would describe this restaurant as: upscale Mexican. Everything is elevated. The decor is Instagram worthy. The food presentation is thoughtful. The service is refined, and the atmosphere is almost club-like. We were here on a busy Saturday night and sat at the bar for dinner rather than waiting for a table. The restaurant was poppin' with birthday celebrations. Shots were served with fanfare by multiple waitstaff with flashing strobe lights, sparklers, and heavy club music. It felt like bottle service at a club. The food is a cut above. You aren't served tortilla chips and salsa here. Rosa Madera doesn't want to be just another Mexican restaurant. Instead you're served chicharrones chips. The Los Favoritos appetizer platter is hearty enough for 3-4 people with Flautas de tinga, birria chimichangas, and nachos Al pastor. All were good. I had the Tacos De Ranchera which were hefty and tasty. The order comes with two tacos and were filling. My friend got the fajitas trio which looked *super* good and had in it massive pieces of chicken, steak and shrimp. Everything was good, tasty, different, and just a little bit "extra" to make this dining experience unique. I will be back to try other items on the menu!

Came here recently for a birthday dinner with family and it was a lovely experience. First I want to say thanks to the staff who were very accommodating in rearranging tables to make sure we had enough room for our party. The staff were friendly and helpful in serving our large party. The inside of the restaurant is so beautiful, the decor is romantic with lots of flowers and warm lights. There were people there celebrating birthdays (not just us), on dates, and having dinner with friends and family. The menu is very large with lots of options, the prices are on par with other "nicer" Mexican restaurants in the area. I everyone ordered something different and seemed to enjoy their choices. I got the birria plate and it was delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly and was flavorful, I wish it came with more than two tortillas! The cocktails were also delicious. I would come again!

Stopped by Rosa Madera on Easter Sunday with my family. When we arrived there were a couple families waiting, but we were quoted about 10 minutes which wasn't bad at all. First thing you notice is the decor. The place is really beautiful and has a more upscale feel. The murals inside are a nice touch, and they have a full bar along with larger tables for bigger parties. The music is pretty loud and gives more of a night club vibe. I ordered the filete con camarones al ajo. The filet and shrimp were really good, but the beans and rice were just okay. The handmade corn tortillas were definitely a highlight. We also tried the pollo en mole and my mom said she would come back but probably wouldn't order that again. My dad ordered the filete zarandeado and said it was good but his rice was a bit hard so he didn't really eat it. Service is where things could improve. There seemed to be a lot of staff around but our server didn't seem very enthusiastic. She checked in but it felt a bit rushed and not very welcoming. Overall the decor really stands out and makes the place feel special. With a little more warmth in the service and some consistency with the food, this could easily be a great spot. I would come back especially to try the drinks.

Saturday 330pm. Just about half full at the tables but all the bar tables and bar was empty. Everyone has been telling me about this place. And we can't wait to come back. The decor has just the right details for authenticity. La Virgen and Frida Kahlo on the walls. Pretty baskets and greenery hanging from the ceiling. Went to wash my hands and noticed the bathroom had nice tiles on the walls and similar baskets and greenery. I like it when places extend their beauty to the bathrooms. (Small issues here with overflowing trash cans but thats minor overall.) ... we came here for the food of course! We ordered the LOS FAVORITOS - sampler and some aguas frescas. The sampler has Flautas de tinga, nachos al pastor, birria chimichangas. The attached pic isn't beautiful but we asked for everything on the side (Sides of guac, crema, salsa, and pico de gallo.). The meats were amazing. The flautas and the chimichangas were fried perfectly. There is something special about the Al pastor - you have to try it. It's different than any I've had but in a good way. The guacamole was also great. It wasn't over run with onions and it featured the avocados. I'm picky with guacamole- but that's just me. Hubby asked for an extra side of something spicier and they brought out a dark salsa that had a smoky and spicy flavor - it had a kick at the end for sure. TIP - get there when they open. Our amazing server said if you get there after 430pm you will be waiting.

Wow! What a beautiful place! I loved the food here it was really amazing! I was able to clean off my plate be ate it was super yummy. I came here with my girlfriends for Galentines and it was 7 of us and we enjoyed every moment of it. I loved our server, he was very kind. For the wait time, it was pretty busy! They only sit your parties if all your all here so there was a delay on our set reservation time. Regardless, the food was worth a wait. They celebrate birthdays as well so they put very loud music and come celebrate you!! Will comeback here again!!

We chose Rosa Madera for our Mother's Day celebration! We were put on a waitlist because they don't take reservations. I still don't understand the process due to the fact that we placed a call at opening right before arrival. It took 2 hrs to be seated. As we were finally seated the celebration began with bubbly mimosas and mariachi music playing. The atmosphere is lively and the food is delicious. I had the chilaquiles (steak) and we even shared desert. The flan is creamy and the tres leches French toast was not too sweet. We enjoyed both. We had a memorable Mother's Day with a beautiful decorated restaurant that served fabulous brunch items. The waitress was very attentive and sweet. The mariachi was the highlight of our day.

Heard from many people that this was a great place to go eat and the food was really good so we decided to give it a try. First appearance when you walk in this is one of the cutest restaurants I've ever been to! I love the /hen B/, Tic decor and plates and cups and the vibe ball around. Perfect for a date night or even a larger celebration. The bar area looked super nice as well. Our server Araceli was extremely nice and helpful in us making our selection because there was so many good things on the menu. It was hard to pick! To start off for an appetizer, we got the trio because we wanted to get multiple things so that was perfect! Everything on there was bomb and the salsa we killed immediately and we should've asked for more! For dinner, I decided to go with the chicken mole enchiladas and my husband got the birria sopes. Both were a five out of five! The mole was not too sweet and the enchiladas were stuffed with chicken. The beans and rice on the side were bomb. My husband says the sopes were more on the classic traditional tasting side and he loved them! We have already text our friends about it and plan to go back and try more things on the menu!

The vibes alone are the star rating, the food to me was some of the worst I've had. The staff is friendly, the decor is incredible and people were excited to be there. My wife had been talking about this place for a while. Pictured is what I had, fajitas steak, shrimp, and chicken. It was as if all the meat had been sitting around and was reheated for me. All of the meat was tough and lukewarm at best. Chicken so tough I could barely bite through it. The steak I could only stomach a few bites. I only ate the shrimp an even those were tough but they were less tough than the chicken. My wife had tacos and enjoyed her meal. My son had birria tacos, which is his favorite but he said he would never order those again as they had no flavor.

We went during happy hour! Got seated quickly. Beers were $7. Got two micheladas! One of the best miches I think i've ever had. Guac to start. Tasted very fresh, had nice chunks of fresh veggies and avocado. Sopes de asada were 10/10. Huge portion! I was only able to eat one sope and some of the rice and beans. I ended up having enough for a late dinner. Everything was so delicious! Server was so great! The ambiance was very nice. Red curtains and dim moody lighting made it very romantic ! Awesome artwork and murals on the walls! Next time I'm in Sac, I'll be returning!

My family of 6 (4 adults + (8yrs old and 2yrs old) and I visited this place today for the 1st time and it was late lunch. We checked in for wait list at 230p, didnt get seated over an hour later. Service was a bit chaotic, restaurant was pretty full with 6+ ppl per tables celebrating bdays and graduations. Servers didn't know what tables were assigned to them. Food was average. It was served randomly, not all came at once. Ambiance was really great. I like the less taqueria style. One thing I wanted to note when you order an entrée you only get 2 tortillas per order. Imagine if you order the combo fajita and you only have 2 tortillas. when we asked how money tortillas was given to us our server said 6 but we only had 5... she actually continued to argue that she served us 6. We just want extra tortillas, we'll pay for it. Overall, not a good experience.

I used it and the salsa to flavor the black beans. However, I really just wanted grilled steak. I should have ordered steak fajitas, a grilled steak burrito or quesadilla, or a carne asada plate. The Steak a la Chicana was a generous portion, which is definitely 2 meals for me. Cilantro rice wasn't anything special. The SWEET CORN TAMALITO is yummy comfort. Plus, we've also been here plenty of times and love it already. We were really bummed to find out that you get charged for chips and salsa and they don't come out automatically without asking and it also the charge is dependent on how many people are in your party. Also, when the chips came out, there was only one salsa, which hasn't usually been the case. We're not sure if this was just some modifications because of dine downtown happening, but it was a bummer. We ordered the taquitos for an appetizer and those were OK..nothing special. I ordered the pozole verde with chicken, which is my favorite! And my best friend ordered the Carnitas plate. My posole was really good. It came with the side of the status and all the toppings. However, the Carnitas lacked flavor and were a bit dry. Neither of us would probably order that again. We also ordered a couple of blended mockaritas, one strawberry and one mango and both were tasty, but the strawberry would definitely needed another blend as there were a big chunks of ice. I think that because of the craziness with dine downtown..service and food quality we're a bit lacking, but I will always come back to Mayahuel for the pozole verde !

I visited this past Saturday and it was quite busy inside like it always is. The restaurant is large enough to fit a lot of people, so finding a seat isn't an issue. To order, you line up in front of the register and wait until they call you. Once it was my turn, I ordered a Super Burrito with Al Pastor, which is my favorite protein choice there. Usually I order 2 tacos with my burrito but I was saving room for Korean bbq that day! The Super Burrito comes with your choice of meat, rice, beans, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese. I also ordered a medium pineapple agua fresca, which paired perfectly with my burrito. After ordering, you're handed a number to take to your table so the servers know where to bring your food. As I'm waiting for my food, I helped myself to the self-serve chip bar. The chip bar is my favorite thing about the restaurant besides the food and quick service. I always get loads of both the white and red pickled onions, and some salsa to go with my chips. They offer many sides to choose from so that anyone can customize their meal to their liking. The pickled onions have the perfect level spice and acidity to them which helps with cutting down the greasiness you may get from a burrito. I also like to snack on them for fun too! The food comes out extremely quickly. When I finished placing my order and brought my number to my table, I went to the self-serve bar right after to get some chips. Not even 2-3 minutes later, I came back to my table with my burrito already there! The burrito was absolutely delicious and piping hot. It's the perfect size for me and eating it with the pineapple agua fresca and some chips makes it a perfect meal! Coming to La Favorita Taqueria is always a treat and I appreciate the quick customer service, self-serve bar, and delicious food! I highly recommend the Al pastor as your protein choice and honestly you can't go wrong with anything on their menu!
