    Spicy Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich
    Brian T.

Had a long drive and found this place in old Folsom. The whole street is decorated in Christmas spirit. Came late in the night to a festive bar and grill. Server was nice and accommodating. We all got burgers and a side. The burgers had a good portion size and were very tasty. The sides were fried perfectly and had great sauces. I got the spicy buttermilk fried chicken and had chili oil dripping out but it could've been spicier. The chicken was crispy and airy. Service was great and we were constantly being checked up on and had water refilled.

I remember seeing this place as one of the top places to eat in Sacramento and I wanted to check it out. I came on a Sunday around 1pm and the place wasn't too crowded. Was able to find a table for 7. I'm big on burgers and can tell if the burgers are good quality or not. When I tried the burger it was just an average burger nothing really special. I love garlic fries and upgraded to that. The fries were greasy and I felt like the portion size of the fries was small. Overall this is just an average restaurant with bar food. I wouldn't come back unless my friends want to go here. Had better burgers next door at Samuel Horne's Tavern.

We took our two granddaughters to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary (what a fun place) and ended up at Reprisa Grill at 2:30pm on a Thursday. Only one other group of patrons were in the restaurant. The girls were tired and hungry. They do have a kids menu. One of our kids had her heart set on a grilled cheese sandwich ( not on the menu), but they kindly made her one anyway. My husband and I shared an Old Folsom burger with sweet potato fries and a Ceasar salad. The food was delicious. Well made, good quality ingredients. Our waitress was super helpful and kind ( ended up with an entire glass of water spilled on the table and floor). She helped us get it mopped up without any fuss. I would definately return for the food. It looks like alot of fun on the weekends with live bands. We will have to return.

Definitely recommend the chipotle jalapeño black bean burger! You can see the actual beans and corn in it. The burger is very well put together, it also stays together, and it's very tasty. The garlic parm fries were nice and crispy and not too greasy. Service was excellent. They were busy but waitress and other server still checked on our table a few times. Service was quick and didn't have to wait too long to order or receive the food. I like that they have an outdoor patio in the back and not just the bar setting.

The black bean burger and buttermilk chicken sandwich were fantastic. Love the bar restaurant vibe and music.

I'll put this out quickly, but I. WILL. BE. BACK. This restaurant is amazing! I didn't know what to expect, but my wife and I were in the mood for something NEW. We had been at the outlets all day in the rain and wanted to warm up with a new food spot. We read the reviews and everything we saw was really good. Isn't it the best when the pictures and the reviews line up with the your experience?! Just sayin! We ordered a lot of food. The Fried Pickles ($8) (which were spears, not the chips. A pleasant surprise), The 1885 Burger ($17), The Westie Burger ($17), and The Rodeo Fries ($14). All... and I mean ALL of the food was excellent! Good flavor, hot, tasty, flavorful, and just a great experience overall. And the Rodeo fries was LOADED with burnt ends. They did not skip out in any way. Our server was cool. Very chill and helpful when it came to making our selections. The vibe was awesome. I'm sure they have live bands from time to time and I'd love to go back on a day when they have someone playing. I will say this... if you have younger children, it's not the best place for them. Not many tables to sit at so it could be hard trying to find out how to sit them on a stool. Luckily we were able to sit down at a table, but I think there are only 2 of them. If you're looking for a nice vibey place with good eats in Folsom, check this place out! You'll be glad you did. Hope this helps!

This place is great. Staff is friendly, and food is fantastic. This is not your typical restaurant and bar. At first glance you would think this was a dive bar, but no. You're greeted by the bartenders and the entire restaurant and back patio is open seating. We sat down, and within a few minutes a waitress took our order. We got the kids burger, tot plate, fried chicken and Brussels. Everything was seasoned and well and tasted delicious. I was pleasantly surprised at how crispy the Brussels were, 10/10 will be back soon.

Come on, Yelp.... give us half-star ratings! If I could, I'd give this place 3.5 stars for a solid C rating. Reasons.... food was good. Nothing to write home about, but decent bar food. I got the chorizo scramble. It was a bit too wet with the tomatoes, cheese, and crema, but had nice flavor. More fresh jalapenos would help to balance the wet, mushy mouth-feel. I counted 4 slices in my total meal. The tortilla was also a miss--very thin, tough, and dry. Something fluffier would have helped. And not cutting it into triangles. That made it impossible to roll bites of scramble into it. Hubby got a BBQ burger with BBQ tots. He gave it a 4/5. My daughter liked her kids menu burger, but I would love it more if it came with a fruit. It was just a burger and a small handful of fries. Service was prompt and pleasant. But the place was really dirty. When we arrived, it was not busy at all, but all of the tables out front were dirty with spilled liquids ans dried sticky mess. The menus we had provided to us were also visibly dirty with food gunk, cocktail sticky residue, and other smears. That didn't make for a good first impression. Our table was also sticky. Cocktail menu is basic. It's a basic bar, folks. I ordered a Campari Spritz and it arrived in a wine glass with the remainder of a small bottle of Chandon Brut for me to finish. Loved that! The proportions of campari to wine in the glass was heavy on the wine and a bit watered down, but I appreciate the presentation and effort to make something not on the menu! Hubby enjoyed his whiskey pour. All in all, not a bad meal. Place just needs some attention for cleaning and minor food adjustments.

Finally tried this place after reading so many great reviews and it didn't disappoint. We stopped by after perusing the nearby Farmers Market. The restaurant is inside the Folsom Hotel on Sutter Street and is easy to miss because it just looks like a bar with live music when you walk by. The prominent dark wood bar has an adjacent area with table seating inside and there is a small front patio as well as a 2-story back patio. We enjoyed listening to the live music (Saturdays 12-3pm) and could hear the acoustic guitar player inside from the back patio. Kid and dog friendly! Michelle took good care of us and shared the menu, filling in some details not included that helped with our selections. They have added brunch items on the weekends. She was friendly and shared more information about the chef. She recommended the 1885 burger ($18) and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly with crispy fried onions, cheddar cheese and au jus for dipping. The fried buttermilk chicken (thigh) sandwich ($18) is also a popular item and came crispy adorned with house-made pickle slices and coleslaw. Delicious ranch dressing with fresh dill and bomb sauce! Burgers and sandwiches come with your choice of side, fries or salad. The salad was a nice mix of greens with diced tomatoes and cheese crumbles. $2-3 upcharge for tater tots, sweet potatoe fries or garlic fries. I would recommend this as a great option when in historic Folsom for a casual environment with excellent food.

My first time here, my friend and I came here on a Saturday after hiking. The place was hopping! The restaurant was lively, vibe was casual and our server was super busy but still very sweet. I got the Rollin' W/My Crabbies ($18) It was the best crab roll I've ever had. Buttery, with generous amounts of crab, topped with crispy onions, and a side of slaw (in addition to the side salad). My friend ordered the Steak & Brie that she said was really good as well. Our food came out pretty quickly despite the place being busy. Parking was a little difficult, some of the streets were closed off to cars. I'll have to come back for the crab roll again!

Checked out Repressa Grill today its easy to spot the light green two story building on the corner. There was live music inside but Lil Lucie was with us so we people watched on the patio. The menu is full of delicious items sammies, macs and burgers. I tried the Funguy mushroom burger and it was amazing. The char on the burger was perfect. My only complaint would be the burger patty wasn't enough to fill me up. Next time I will add a patty for $7 our server suggested adding burnt ends which sounds pretty fantastic as well. The place is medium sized but I can see this spot being super busy during prime time. If you want to try some great food in old town you cant go wrong with Repressa.

We had heard that Represa Grill moved locations, and had an all new menu - so we just had to try it. While neither of us were very hungry, we got the Brussels sprouts along with the spicy friend chicken sandwich and onion rings. Tip for patrons - there is a cheaper option when paying with cash (~$2 less for our $41 order for example) Food was great, service was great, something we had noticed however was that this new location is aiming for "family friendly". It is most certainly not family friendly, primarily due to the clientele at the bar-top and the bartenders. Bar top clients were all men who had clearly been drinking too much, cussing loudly, stumbling around the restaurant interior, etc. Bartenders were dressed similar to how they dress for the Folsom Hotel weekend nights. If you have been to the hotel during any night you know exactly what we are talking about. Not an issue when it's expected, but if this new location is aiming for family friendly there is some work to do. Travis was our server for the evening. He was helpful with many recommendations and an extensive menu knowledge. Brussels sprouts 4/5 (a little too sweet for our taste) Spicy fried chicken sandwich 4.25/5 Onion rings as side for sandwich 4.5/5 (Very good, obviously homemade. You only get 5-6 of them for a full order though) Will be back to try more on the menu! Exciting to get more high quality food and service on Sutter Street. Fun saloon vibe for a casual meal and drinks with friends! I came here on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. The bartender acted as the waitress too but service was great. The chicken sandwich was great - good flavor and crunchy chicken. The steak and brie sandwich was my favorite - so cheesy with good quality meat. I definitely recommend this place for anyone in the area looking for a fun place for some classic American!

This was definitely one of the most extensive and unique taco menus I've ever seen. It was like the Cheesecake Factory of tacos. We started with the chips and guacamole, which was good, but honestly just a tad under ripe. But we were basically able to make up for that with lime and cotija (which it was topped with). For the main course, I ordered the taco plate special (2 tacos plus rice and beans for $11.99) with the Korean fried chicken taco and the carne asada taco. My friend got the same thing but with the short rib taco and blackened salmon taco. My tacos were amazing. The fried chicken was as crunchy and delicious as could be. I loved the bao bun shell. The chicken had just enough spice to give it a little kick, but was also sweet and savory. The carne asada taco was what I would describe as top tier for an American taco place. Maybe not street cart quality, but pretty close. My friend and I didn't try the drinks because we don't drink, but I noticed that they had a mocktail menu with about five drinks for about five bucks each. The service was fantastic. The waiter seemed very experienced and good at his job. I was surprised when my friend asked for the bill, and the server handed him his little handheld device and said, "Here you go." I said, "I'm going to remember this as an iconic moment of feeling older." I haven't been out to eat in a minute, but this was completely new to me. I used to be a server, and keeping all my ticket books in order was like, a big part of my job. Servers would secretly steal the best books from each other, or sometimes bring their own from home. I would spend several minutes per shift writing out little messages like, "Thanks so much! Happy Easter!! =D" Gone are the days. The restaurant was really clean and well lit, and the tables were well spaced. The covered patio looked like it would also be a nice place to sit in slightly cooler weather.

We ordered 5 different tacos and all were very gross. The food was cold and tasted awful. The fish taco was the worst. It tasted as if the fish had been sitting out for a few hours and they just threw it on a tortilla and called it good. When I complained, the server didn't care. I asked for a manager and they said we don't have one. To find out, there is no manager at all the folsom location. So you can see where the quality of food was lacking. I'm still waiting for a refund and no one has called me back from any of the other locations. Because if you need to make a calling, you'll need to call another location with a manager. We left and got dinner elsewhere because we were still hungry. And on top of it, had a very bad stomach ache for 24 hours after eating there. Beware!

I was headed to Burger King but changed my mind when I eyed Taco Express across the parking lot. Well I spotted a large inflatable shaped as the Taco Express character waving his arm. As to wave us over. He was so darn cute. It definitely caught my attention and peaked my interest. Next thing I know I was in the drive thru looking at the menu. It was Tuesday, the special of the day was $1.50 crispy tacos. The meat choices were chicken, ground beef, and beef. I ordered four of those, a side of rice, and chips n salsa. The total with tax was $12 something. The green salsa had a spicy kickyness but without the heat. The red salsa had a lingering, bold hot spiciness. I tried it and it burned. The tacos weren't bad at all. The meats weren't greasy. The taco shells were fresh fried, without the greasiness. Also for the price I was envisioning small or mini sized tacos, but pleasantly surprised that they were regular sized. No skinny minis. Plus they didn't skimp on filling the taco with the proteins. They were topped with shredded cheese and lettuce. The person taking my drive thru order was great. Patient, helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. Now here's what made it even better--this used to be a Taco Bell back in the day, so let me just say... the taco energy in this building is deeply rooted. The tortilla spirits were already working overtime before I even walked in. I stepped inside, got greeted right away, and placed my order for carne asada tacos and a drink. Simple. Efficient. Exactly what the pre-movie mission required. But here's where things got impressive... I swear the second I paid, my food was basically already waiting for me like it had somehow known I was coming. And unless I missed someone hiding in the back doing ninja-level prep work, I'm pretty sure the young lady up front was running the whole operation. She was taking my order, working the drive-thru headset, handling everything, and still keeping it smooth like it was just another regular day. That kind of hustle deserves respect. Now let's talk tacos. These carne asada tacos came out hot, flavorful, and straight-up comforting. The kind of flavor that doesn't taste like "fast food trying to be tacos"--nah, these tasted like somebody's grandma would absolutely approve. And if the food gives "abuela would nod in silence and keep cooking," that's a compliment of the highest order. Every bite hit. The meat had flavor, the tacos were put together right, and for a quick stop before a movie, this absolutely overdelivered. The place was easy, the service was fast, and the whole stop felt like one of those hidden little wins you're glad you trusted. In all, Taco Express did exactly what it needed to do... Quick. Flavorful. No nonsense. Strong taco ancestry. And honestly, if this building was once a Taco Bell and has now evolved into this... that's character development. Will I be back? Yeah... because movie plans and tacos are a dangerous combo.

We were meeting a friend and they had gotten a table for us before we arrived, but it wasn't busy and there were plenty of tables available. We're glad we had a chance to try Cantina Pedregal before it changes into Nixtaco- although now having been to both you're going to have delicious food either way. The restaurant is beautiful and whoever did the interior design was so thoughtful with the furniture, colors and ambiance. It's very warm, welcoming and calming inside. A great date spot or place for a meeting. The lunch menu has a good variety of options, and is broken down into smaller bites/appetizers, salads, main plates, and then sides. It's a nice spot to share dishes so you can try more items and share the sides. We ended up getting the chips and salsa ($7) with an extra salsa ($4), Grilled Black Half Chicken ($23), and Fideo Seco ($14). Our friend got the Carne Asada Tacos ($24), Refried Beans ($12), and Red Rice ($10). The sides were shareable and needed, since the entrees came on their own. Our friend added some of the beans, rice and Fideo Seco on their tacos and our chicken did come with some tortillas to make our own tacos or eat on it's own. Everything was high quality and flavorful. The Fideo Seco was surprisingly my favorite item. It is vermicelli pasta with sofrito, chorizo and egg yolk and was very tasty. The chicken was good, but hard to eat without using your hands to get all the meat off the bones- the messy hands didn't seem to fit with the restaurant vibe but we loved the flavor and how tender the chicken was. The salsa was good and the chips were fresh, but it seemed like a lot to charge $4 for the ramekins of salsas. I would pass on chips and salsa next time. Overall it was a great vibe, high quality food and good service. Definitely more of a treat meal or great spot to impress a date or business client. For a regular chill meal it felt a bit expensive, but I think they're going for more upscale.

Our waiter was amazing his name was Doug he explained the menu to us . It could be a lot but he helped us . Doug was very helpful and attentive. We ordered drinks my favorite one was called Sol Dorado . I wish they had more Gin drinks I had the only Gin drink called Brissa Del Mar but ,I was not a fan . For food we ordered the Caesar salad , sweet potato which was amazing. For our main dish we ordered the cazuela (Asado De Puerco ) which is pork stew it came with handmade corn tortillas . We made some delicious tacos out of it . I had to get dessert they all sounded so good! We got the Smoked Pumpkin Tres Leches delicious. Overall, it was a different experience the food is a bit different and I'm Mexican BTW but it's from a part in Mexico called Monterey every part in Mexico has their own way of cooking . The menu its self is different you order to share . It's a little on the pricier side but the portions were a good size for sharing . I feel like for the main entree there is not that many options on there wish to see more . Overall we had a great time . Great food and ambiance.
