##1 THE PEPE

Astronomically high prices. $16 for a sandwich with 3 slices of ham and cheese, chips, and a drink.

This is NOT an unwich.
Nicholas S.

Not happy. The "Unwich" is a popular item on the menu for me being diabetic. Yet today I ordered one, online the #6 combo as an unwich and picked it up only to find when I got to my hotel that they can't tell the difference between a lettuce leaf and a wrap. I couldn't eat it threw it away and basically wasted $10 of my money. How can you screw up such a basic popular menu item. Glad I didn't order anything special.

Worst sub ever!!

I have been coming here for years but today was a TOTAL disappointment. I ordered a #14 bootlegger club and it had NOTHING on it....... I can honestly say this was the WORST sub I have ever had!!! $15 for nothing......:: never again!

I love the number 8. The buns they use are always so fresh. And, by the time I get my drink, the sandwich is done! Very fast.

We all got the lunch special which is a half sandwich with either salad or soup for $13.50. I got the blue cow grilled cheese and tomato soup. What a delicious sandwich! It had roast beef, a jam, pepper relish, havarti and blue cheese. It was really tasty and just the right amount of blue cheese to be tasty and not overwhelming. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal though I will say the person who got the brie, fig jam and prosciutto one was especially happy!

This is a husband and wife team that manage and own both places. While standing at the counter, deciding what charcuterie board I was going to order I took a quick look at their menu and boy does it look good. Hummus boards, salads, and sandwiches. All freshly made in this little café, which is small but charming there is an outdoor patio with like four tables , but it's far too hot this summer to eat out there. For sure I'll be back in the fall out there with Luna enjoying this wonderful café. I was there with my daughter and what caught her eye was the muffaletta sandwich. A classic I couldn't get past the menu, grilled cheese sandwich, options, and asked the owner what was her favorite and recommendation. She immediately said the grilled cheese with birria and I think a Gouda cheese. We grabbed one of the booths and the sandwiches were out shortly. OMG, they both were unbelievable, but I had trouble keeping my daughter's hand off my plate. Honestly, this is one of the best grilled cheese I've ever had. And I consider myself a grilled cheese aficionado. Mingle & Graze is in a central downtown Chandler location, lots of parking out front. Love these little non-chain cafés with great homemade food that's different and original. I highly recommend you check out this place and when the weather is a bit nicer, order some food and sit out on the patio with a nice bottle of wine curated from Spin The Bottle. What a great spot

I was killing time in Chandler when lunch time approached and getting a sandwich was on my brain…read more Thanks to the Yelp app, I was able to find Retro's Subs & Brews and it seemed like the perfect spot to cure my itch. I was super stoked to check a place with "retro" in the name out, and I gotta be honest here, I left with pretty mixed emotions about a lot of things. The restaurant itself is pretty boring inside, mostly just being black with a few small pictures hanging up. I was kind of expecting big retro movie posters or something hanging around, but I definitely didn't get much of a retro vibe from this place minus a small neon "bar" sign and a claw machine in the corner. The menus were very cool, right by the front door its a record shelf and the records were the menus, so thumbs up for that idea. I thought i was mistaken, but I don't remember seeing sandwich prices on the actual menu, but as I look at other photos on yelp it does appear that the sandwiches don't have prices attached to them, which explains why I was thrown off by the end price. I settled on ordering the "take on me" which was black forest ham, roasted turkey, hickory smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and mayo on a Hawaiian style roll. I also ordered a sprite and a chocolate chip cookie as a side. The chocolate chip cookie was okay, pretty standard cookie though definitely not worth $3.75. The sprite was $2.99, and the sandwich came to $15.58. I was also charged $0.96 for something called the advantage program which I have no idea what that is. I gotta say, spending over $25 on a sandwich, a small cookie, and a drink is not something I would care to do at a place like this. The sandwich itself was very good, I won't deny that. The meat tasted fresh, and when it was all together it was definitely a good sandwich, but when there's not combo option and a basic sandwich, cookie, and drink ends up being $25 it's gonna be a no from me on returning in the future. Overall, I really wanted to love this place for the name, but the lack of much decorations and prices left something to be desired. The food itself was good, but not worth what was spent.

This most recent visit we ate outside as we had our dog with with us. There was one other party and even though it was late June, the patio was covered and the misters were nice, so it was very comfortable. Our server was friendly and although it seemed like she was new, if she didn't know the answer to our questions she happily asked her peers for the answer. We had a few hiccups but she was very apologetic and nice about it. We ordered the meatball Ferris wheel, kids cheese pizza, and hot Sicilian pizza. I thought it was really cool how the Ferris wheel actually spun. I did think the polenta would be a bigger portion and served on the side. (They put the polenta in each meatball cup) The meatballs were a good size and tasted pretty good. One of them was topped with Calabrian chili and it was really good. It may have been their monthly special. The kids pizza was a good size for our toddler and you could tell it wasn't frozen cheese pizza. The cheese was good and I like that it comes with a drink. I think it also comes with a dessert but our server didn't offer it and we didn't think we needed it. They did bring the pizza out piping hot and considering it's for a kid I would have appreciated if they let it cool a bit instead of bringing it fresh out the oven. The pizza was amazing and had such good flavor. I loved the ricotta and hot honey. I just wish it was a little bigger, but with the meatballs it was more than enough for two people. We don't eat Italian often but would definitely be back when we do.

They've got everything from barbecuing essentials and specialty seasonings to bold hot sauces and even a cold beer to enjoy while you shop. And then you make your way to that beautiful deli counter. They also have 'cuts' of bone for your furry friends. We grabbed a bone for our dog and can't wait for him to enjoy it! Von Hanson's isn't just a deli... it's a place for anyone (new to grilling or professionals) who wants to enjoy quality meat and find whatever they need to cook it!

Unfortunately, when I got home, the steaks varied significantly in size, and one was clearly not a center-cut filet. It was disappointing, especially since I was preparing a special meal on short notice. Update to my original review: After reflecting on my experience, I realized my original review didn't fully represent the business. From the moment I walked in, everyone was as friendly and welcoming as they have been during my previous visits. The staff was also very helpful in recommending some of their prepared side dishes, including the mac and cheese, twice-baked potatoes, and potato skins. They even provided cooking suggestions for both the air fryer and grill, which were appreciated. Although I was frustrated with how the filets were cut, I have to say the quality of the meat itself was excellent. The filets were incredibly tender, full of flavor, and everyone enjoyed them. The sides were also a big hit with our guests, especially the potato skins. I also want to recognize their outstanding customer service. The owner responded to my review promptly, and the store manager called me first thing the following morning to discuss my experience and make things right. That level of responsiveness and genuine care for their customers is becoming increasingly rare and deserves recognition. While my initial experience with the butcher counter was disappointing, I appreciate how seriously they took my feedback and their commitment to customer satisfaction. Because of that, I'll gladly continue shopping here and look forward to seeing the same high standards reflected in future visits.

From the moment we walked in, the employees were welcoming and genuinely friendly, which set a great tone for the visit. I ordered the corned beef and pastrami on marble rye, and it did not disappoint. The meat was high quality, flavorful, and the portion was very generous--I could only finish half. My husband had the spicy BLT, and it was just as impressive in both quality and size. Each sandwich comes with a bag of Ruffles and a pickle, which is a nice touch. What really surprised us was the price. Our total bill was very reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and overall quality. I definitely recommend giving it a visit--great food, friendly service, and excellent value.

The club royal had paper on the cheese. I mean really paper in the sandwich see pic. This is more than careless preparation. The NY Yankee is a 20.00 Sandwich and they made it on marble rye that was stale and hard. It was impossible for them to not know that the bread was stale and hard. The order was at 10:15 AM so it was not a situation where it sat out long enough in the day to get hard. This had to be yesterdays stale bread. I have to ask who does this? Do they think the customer is going to find this acceptable? Paper on the cheese and stale bread on a 20.00 sandwich. There is genuinely no excuse for this and who ever prepared this food needs to be either reprimanded or terminated. You have one job and that is to make a quality product. If things like this are happening it makes me wonder what other corners are cut and if there is actually any manager overseeing quality and safe practices! I would give zero stars if that was an option.
