Tonight I wanted a sandwich and I wanted it from a place i haven't been yet. Potbelly check those 2 boxes so I smashed it. It was decent...I'd say a solid 3.5 stars. I got a regular size Avo Turkey w/ pickles and deli mustard. The sandwiches are toasted, which is great, and I left full and satisfied which is always a plus in my book. The store was clean and the staff were great and personable. Is it a place to write home about? Nah...but it's not bad, especially for $10. Great sandwiches, however beware of the hot peppers. I typically like a little heat behind the flavors but these hot peppers are hotter than my local Mexican placed hottest salsa. No reason the hot peppers should burn like habanero. Most Italian hot peppers aren't that. I understand I ordered it and got what I ordered but holy shit. food was good, typical potbelly meal. but the customer service was horrid. the first girl immediately had an attitude towards us when taking our order, was annoyed and had a tone to any question we had, she kept cutting us off. and then after would talk and laugh with her coworker. and then we went to ask about the drink dispenser because it was off and the guy did not say one word to us, didn't even let us say anything, and pushed past us to turn it on and walked away again without saying a word. i would be more understanding if the place was busy, but there was not a single customer in there. completely ruined our morning. everyone in there had such a bad attitude and vibe it was so disappointing when i just wanted to have a nice lunch with my fiancé. read more

Everyone was so nice there! I really appreciate the service the food was to die for and the dining room and outdoor dining room was absolutely spotless! I am putting 2.5 stars because I Love this place, the sandwich and meat ratio. Today was sadly a disaster. The meat and bread ratio was sad. More bread than meat. That being said, I ordered the "loaded baked potato" soup. Was completely watered down. I only know that because I walked next door to safe way and poured myself the SAME soup. Only $5 cheaper but BETTER. I did not find a hair in my sandwich but if you pay $10 for a sandwich and $5 for a soup. I'll go to Safeway next door. Good customer service. read more

I always order the same things, either a turkey breast sandwich or any of their salads, I'm always satisfied with either. I'm not sure if it's seasonal but I do love their potato soup, it's not always an option when I go. I've only tried their Oreo shake once and it was just ok, it tasted more like a vanilla shake and I didn't really get any Oreo chunks or flavor at all. read more

I really liked the Pot Pie soup. Yes, it was salty, and normally too much salt can turn me off, but the crumbled pie crust topping was a perfect addition. I also enjoyed my Mediterranean sandwich, as the ingredients were definitely welcome- the artichoke, fired roasted tomatoes and feta were a perfect combo. Potbelly is my new favorite sandwich chain. The food is always amazing and consistent. I am somewhat of a creature of habit, so when I find a thing I like from a place, I typically get that same thing and expect it to be more or less the same regardless of which location I'm at. Potbelly does this amazingly well. I've been to three or four locations and always have a great meal. The staff are always very helpful and quick, a necessity for this chain. Every location I have been to gets HORRENDOUSLY busy. This is at no fault to the restaurant itself - it's just a byproduct of being a popular sandwich shop in a busy area. I'm partial to their Turkey Avocado sandwiches, but I decided to try their new pastrami sandwich and I was pleasantly surprised. I have been lamenting the availability of a solid pastrami sandwich in my area, but I think I've found it. They also have some amazing shakes that hit the spot if a sandwich and optional side don't quite fill you up. This location was amazing, and we happened to just beat the lunch rush around 1:00 PM or so. My one complaint about this location is the area that it's in. I sat in traffic for ten minutes when I was a couple hundred feet away, partially due to traffic and a train. There's nothing that can be done about this, just something to keep in mind when planning a trip to this location. Great spot! read more

I had the Potbelly's catering. We had the macaroni and the potato salad. They tasted yummy - just like if I made it at home. Since it was catered, they came in little packages. We also had the pecan pie bars and the lemon bars. The lemon bar was tart but not too tart. I liked the lemon tart! I also got the a wreck sandwich. It had salami, roast beef, turkey, and ham with Swiss cheese. * Delicious! I think it tasted good. It tasted just like if I made it at home. I think their catering is fast and convenient. I like that the pickles came in a little plastic container. I am not a huge fan of the pickles sliced so thin. I like the large crunchy pickles. The flavor is also not my style either. This review is based on my first and only visit. I ordered the skinny pair, which consists of a skinny-sized sandwich and a cup of soup. I picked the turkey avocado multi-grain bread sandwich (under 400kcal) and the garden vegetable soup (70kcal). I paid about 9$ for the combo. Everything tasted delicious. I wish they served the soup for dine in, as well as the sandwich with reusable tableware. The sandwich had a good amount of turkey and avocado. You can always pick more of the basic toppings at no charge. I would also complement the soup that tasted great and wasn't sweet. I wish they had more low-calorie soup options. Also, I wish they offered a basic unsweetened iced black tea at a low price. If McD can do a large coke for 1$, I don't see why businesses don't offer simple unsweetened tea at this price. This is my go-to for a celebration lunch at work. It is a pain to get out of the parking lot at the Univerity, so It has to be good food to get me to fight that. The Wreck is a great sandwich, but I am frequently drawn to the chicken choices. I usually have to order a small sandwich because I cannot resist the Pot Pie soup. The crust crumbles make the experience, and the delicious flavor takes me back to my grandmother's cooking. Their toasted bread with cheese and careful preparation elevate Potbelly above the other sub sammie spots. I had the chicken breast, cheddar, bacon, lettuce and tomato on the flatbread. I thought that it was a bit dry. However, I liked that the chicken breast was all-natural and not the processed meat that I find in other deli sandwich shops. Maybe it could have used a little more mayo or some other sauce to make it more juicy. I thought that it was a bit lacking in flavor. Perhaps it is because this is a healthier sandwich than can be found in other places that have a lot of added flavors and preservatives. I did find that the lettuce and tomato seemed fresher than at other restaurants I have been to. When I went, there weren't that many people there at the time. This was likely because it was an off-day for the local school in the area. Otherwise, I would expect the place to be very busy. I liked that the restaurant was fairly quiet because usually when restaurants are crowded, it is harder to move around inside the restaurant. I thought that the restaurant looked clean and the employees were generally friendly. If they still have the chicken tomato mozzarella by the time I go back, I'd like to try that one out instead. read more

Seven years later and things have improved on the sandwich of my choice. The new BLTA was good, even though the bread was a bit overtoasted. The bacon they use does get quite crispy and the avocado was fresh and creamy. Pretty basic and safe as I doubt they ever upgraded the turkey quality. About 7 bucks for a 6 inch sandwich. read more

We love Potbelly!! One of the best sandwich shops in our book. My husband orders the wreck and I order the Italian. We like the multigrain bread. Mac and cheese is a good side, too. You have to get a shake. They are delicious and come with a shortbread cookie around the straw. We usually order chocolate, but any flavor is great. The brownie cookie is one of the best cookies I've ever had in my life! Haha Seriously love this place and so glad they are in AZ. We originally tried them in Chicago.
