The potato salad was excellent though, that I'll agree with. Perhaps it was dining near the end of the shift, or dining while they were so heavily short-staffed (they had a sign up), or a combination of both, but, both orders were lackluster. Service was friendly and excellent, but not the sandwiches. I'll try to stop by in the morning if I'm in the area, and see if that makes a difference.

I had to visit Blues City as I heard they have great Po Boys...and they do. I am used to having oysters or shrimp on a Po Boy. Not here. They are basically served with many versions of meat. I had the Benton Park Po Boy and it was incredible. The sandwich has ham, roast beef, turkey, provel, and is dressed with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, pepperoncini, sweet red pepper sauce on french bread. My wife, being vegetarian had the Panino Fresco. It included mozzarella, provolone, dressed with homemade olive salad, tomato, onion & Italian vinegar oil on an Italian roll. This was the first time in 26 years that she finished the entire sandwich. I had a bite of hers, and it is easy to see why she she finished it. So good. I even bought a memorable t-shirt as I loved Blues City Deli. The female counter person was so friendly. She even wrote down three other restaurants to try while we were visiting St Louis. Blues City Deli is a can't miss place and if we are back in St. Louis...we will be back.
