The delivery experience can be a bit of a gamble. When I ordered delivery about a month ago, everything went smoothly. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was much different. We placed our order at 11:00 a.m. and weren't notified until 12:30 p.m. that it would not be delivered. It appears the restaurant is now using Uber for deliveries, and this may be contributing to some of the issues. I contacted the uber driver several times and she ghosted me the entire time. That said, when I called the store, the employee I spoke with was incredibly apologetic and promptly processed a refund. Service, well the lady who was working the counter just stared at me when I approached the counter. Didn't say anything just started to stare at me so that was really nice and professional. If I could give this place no stars I would. They seem to always be fully staffed yet no employees are willing to help/ customer service sucks, extremely slow, constantly mess up orders and close early on a regular basis. I placed an order online, lobby was closed at 7?? So, I went through the drive through and it took them 10 minutes to acknowledge me then when I got to the window the girl jumped off the counter she was sitting on and put her personal phone in her pocket. Then she had the audacity to ask me if the order machine was working bc she didn't know I was waiting after another employee told me to go to the window for my food. The only thing that really gave this place a star was the workers that were working. Customers are spending pretty much $40 for two sandwiches peoples. We're not talking burgers we're not talking ribs. This store (and many businesses) sometimes only has one driver, or the other night, they did not have one at all. And still, I order from there OFTEN! You know why? The workers have the best attitude, and despite being told that their was one driver and 9 orders ahead of me, I received it fast for those conditions and my food was super yummy, and my soda was still super yummy. Completely Delicious! I escape my parents' yard weekly just for a trip down the road to Jimmy John's... so good! Reasonable food. But they screw up every order I place and they cheat me out of money. Sometimes I order food and they don't include it. Then when I call, they say they will credit my account and they don't do it. I have these types of issues with every interaction with this store. Ive been thru this drive thru abot 3 times in 2019, and got horrible service each time. I wont be back ever. Manager needs to step it up on this place. The guys working seem really not well versed on customer service. They are definitley NOT freaky fast. They messed up my order all 3 times ive tried them. They dont clarify orders, they barely greet you. When I asked a simple question on a menu item once they couldnt even tell me the answer. Took forever to get my drive thru order. 2.5 out of 3 times. They all appeared really confused while watching them try to keep up with drive thru each of the 3 times. I sat at the drive thru window for 10 minutes watching 4 employees doing nothing but try to keep their pants from completely falling off while they made my sandwiches. I live 1.1 miles from this JJ's. I'm a frequent customer, be it from this location or another. Usually, it's freaky fast, but this location is notoriously slow. More often than not it takes 45 minutes to deliver. Several times, it took more than an hour. Not to mention the last time I ordered they charged us for the pickle we ordered with our sandwiches, but not the chips. They never brought the pickle. It took 50 minutes. I called to get the pickle, the bag of chips we didn't get, as well as another bag of chips and a cookie. Totaling more than $8. They were willing to bring the pickle, but not the rest of the stuff I wanted to add. Everytime this Jimmy Johns presents a new situation to astonish me. read more

The worst jimmy johns I have ever been to. It's very close to my house, so I have been there several times. Each time, the service is slow and the kids working are rude and unprofessional. Today, I hadn't eaten all day and was looking forward to a sandwich. I wouldn't have a chance to eat again for six more hours. Such a disappointment to open my sandwich and find that it was the wrong one, covered in mayonnaise, which I am allergic to. I knew from previous experience that getting them to correct the problem would take 10-15 more minutes, which I didn't have time for. Told the workers that the carbonation was out on the soda machine and they never fixed it. Paid for a soda had to drink water because all the soda that was dispensed was flat. The food is about what you'd expect from Jimmy Johns. The service, however, is terrible. I have ordered delivery from them several times and the average wait is 45 minutes, even though they are only 12 blocks away. Tonight was the last straw though -- it took them 2 hours to deliver. I called to complain and was assured the manager would call me back within 30 minutes and they didn't -- that was 2 hours ago. Subs so fast you'll freak? I think not. In the drive thru Saturday, 2/6/16 at about 5:00 pm I ordered one Vito sandwich with no tomatoes and two Vito sandwiches light on the lettuce and light on the onions. When the bag was handed to me, I asked if the sandwiches were labeled. I was assured,they were. I got all the way to a friends ho,e to drop off her no tomato sandwich, but the bag had two unlabeled sandwiches and one marked "no onions." I had to drive all the way back to the store as I was not going to open her sandwich and thought I must have someone else's order. Back at the store, I went in. There were 3 employees there. The young man at the drive thru window, a young Asian woman who built the sandwiches, and a young African-American woman who was handling the register. I handed the woman at the register the bag saying I got the wrong order. The young Asian woman said right away that she wrote "no onion" but meant no tomatoes. I told her I drove all the way back here as I had no way of knowing that, I was not going to open someone else's sandwich that I was delivering, and I couldn't take the chance that tomatoes had even been on this sandwich and removed as this person would end up in a hospital she's so deathly allergic. She said, "I'm sorry." I said if you knew you wrote it wrong which you apparently did, you should have crossed it out and wrote it correctly. This is not a matter of a customer just needing to pick off the tomato--this is a serious allergy and I drove all the way back here to have it fixed. She said while smiling at me annoyingly, "I'm sorry." I asked who the daytime manager was. The young lady at the register motioned to the Asian woman who caused this situation. I said never mind that I'd take my complaint to the owner. I believe if their mistake causes a customer to have to drive back, at the very least they should offer an apology AND a free sandwich for the customers' time and mileage. There is no such thing as customer service at the Columbia Heights Jimmy Johns. No worries, there are many other options for great sandwiches right in the neighborhood. read more
