Really delicious food! Wish we would've visited sooner! The homemade bread is incredible. I'd say it's a cross between focaccia and English muffin bread with a nice buttery outside. We've only had lunch here but I hear the breakfast is just as good, especially the hash browns and tomato jam. We've had the Pool and Yacht, Raffi Luigi and the Gigi. Incredible! Their chicken salad is pulled chicken with white and dark meat, herbs and pepperoncini, etc. Really love it. The Giardinera is nice because it's almost blitzed in a food processor so it's smaller and doesn't fly out of the sandwich when you bite into it. They don't overdo the sauces either. Just enough on the sandwiches. The only downfall is that some things can be spicy, especially the potato salad. Like really spicy. So much so it's all you taste. That won't stop me from going back though. I crave a sandwich the minute I'm done. Oh and they also have a provisions case where you can buy packed items like pimento cheese, chicken salad, etc. Go there. You will love it! Open daily til 3pm. Closed Mondays. We arrived about 15 minutes before opening and were able to get a good spot in line. I figured it would be busy because every time we've driven by, there's always a line , if you know, you know! Ordering was quick, the cashier was friendly, and the deli has a comfortable atmosphere. We waited about 5-10 minutes for our sandwiches. I ordered the egg and cheese with a hash brown, and I really enjoyed it. I'd definitely order it again. I also tried the dark chocolate sea salt cookie, which was delicious. The space had more seating than I expected, which was a nice surprise. However, it does get pretty cramped once it fills, which happens fast. If we visit again, we'd probably take our food to go. Pro tip check their instagram stories to see if they're sold out. They make their focaccia bread daily and when it's gone it's gone for the day. It's normal to spot a long line, don't let that make you hesitate. It goes fast and is so worth it. My absolute love em items: Pool & Yacht Club (this sandwich could be my love language. The first time I went here I had lunch and also got another sandwich to have later for dinner because it was that good.) First time trying this sandwich place that I've been wanting to check out and wow it did not disappoint! I went to get The Pool & Yatch and it was the best chicken salad sandwich I have ever had. The greens were incredible fresh and crisp and I loved the fennel and pickles in there as it added a great acidity. I thought the whole sandwich was perfectly composed and ate shockingly light. The portions are big but I'm not complaining. It can easily feed 2 people. I loved that there is a kids menu so I'll be back with my kids to enjoy a nice lunch. This will be street parking when you come and there is a small space for seating but the place is very inviting and cozy. I look forward to coming back and trying more things from the menu. The line moved quickly, the service is friendly, and the interior decor is comfy like an old diner. The bread is the standout for the sandwiches. It is a fluffy, salty focaccia that holds it all together. I've visited Marty's Deli two times now and WOW WOW WOW! First, the deli is very small with limited seating and tables so during busy times, it can be difficult to find seating. It's great to visit in the summer so you can enjoy their expanded outdoor seating. The breakfast = really good! We loved our visit to Marty's the first time all of the food we purchased was delicious! We went a second time and we found a note stating they sold out? On a weekend? Just after noon? Marty's is located in the holland neighborhood. They get quite busy on the weekend, with the line often stretching out the doors during breakfast hours. On weekdays, it's usually quick to get in and out! There is always plenty of parking on the residential streets nearby. You order at the register, and they'll call out your name when your order is ready. They have some seating indoors and outdoors, but it's a relatively small space so it does get crowded on the weekends but I've never had to wait too long to find a place to sit! Breakfast is served until 11 on weekdays and noon on weekends and lunch is served all day! Their menu is labeled clearly with what's vegan and vegetarian. They do have an option to sub for gluten-free bread for any sandwich, although I haven't personally tried the gluten free bread. Marty's breakfast sandwiches are an absolute must try! Their focaccia has a fluffy interior and lightly crispy exterior, and the toasted sesame seeds on it add a nice layer to the flavor. The eggs are perfectly fluffy, and the cheese is perfectly gooey and melty. It is, in my opinion, one of the best breakfast sandwiches in the cities. I also think the hash browns are THE best hash browns you can buy. They're house-made, with the potatoes grated more finely than your typical hash brown. They have a fluffy interior, crispy exterior, and are salted to perfection. I like them with a side of aioli, but they're also good on their own! I have been seeing this restaurant on my TikTok for months now, so I finally decided to go. Let me tell you it was worth the hype. I got there around 10:30am and there was a line. It was around 10-15 minutes which was not horrible. You order at the counter and I got the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. It came on focaccia bread which I've never had that combo before. Blues and crisp white, it's such a vibe. PROVISIONS I like that they have some fun stuff here besides sandwiches! They've got merch (hats and shirts), plus some fun elevated dry goods like nice olive oil, crackers, etc. In their to-go fridge section, they have a bunch of beverages as well as a good amount of deli-style items like pasta salad, chicken salad, whipped feta, etc. to take for the road. MENU I like that their menu isn't a mile long! They have a handful of classics available during breakfast hours, and then the regular sandwich menu. They offer breakfast and lunch sides as well. None of the sammies come with a side, so you can order chips or hashbrowns, etc. to pair. The Gigi - yum! This was stacked high with tangy pickled goodness and turkey, and I loved the vinegar forward taste. The Raffi Luigi - ideal deli sammy! Prosciutto, salami, and a delish combo of onions, herbs, and peppers. GF Bread - I'll be back for this alone! Gluten free focaccia are you kidding me?! Absolutely unreal. PRICE Sandwiches are ~$15, so a bit on the higher side, but filling. Sides are extra. The chicken salad was pretty steep at $8 for a small container, but that's probably what it costs at Kowalski's and other high-end deli groceries. My husband has had Marty's deli on his list of restaurants to try now for quite some time and we finally made it out here on a Saturday morning to queue for a sandwich! The line went about halfway down the block and doesn't move very quickly but it's well worth it. We came on a beautiful day so it didn't bother us since we got to enjoy the beautiful weather. I decided to give it a try on my lunch break. It's situated on a corner and not very large. When I entered inside it had a cafe style seating. The menu contained primarily deli sandwiches along with some other items. I ordered the Gigi which has turkey, tomatoes and more. I also ordered a giant chocolate chocolate chip cookie which btw was delicious. The food I took to go and I must say the sandwich was bomb. It tasted similar to Jersey Mikes but better quality and crisper ingredients. I definitely wanna try other sandwiches and desserts. It's a bit pricey. Marty's just turned 2! A neighborhood staple in Northeast, with one of the best breakfast sandwiches in the city. Their egg sandwich ($9 base) comes with fluffy eggs, sharp American cheese, and garlic aioli. Beyond that, there are several add-ons that are worth your while--I usually alternate between braised greens (+$2) and/or bacon (+$3). Don't skip the hashbrowns either--they're on the smaller side, but SO crispy and perfectly seasoned! Their lunch sandwiches are a little on the pricier side, but worth every penny. My number one favorite is the Uncle Pete ($15), which is their take on a BLT, with bacon, lettuce, tomato AND pickled green tomato, basil, and pimenton aioli. You can also get a vegetarian version, the "Smoky Pete" ($14) with smoky mushrooms subbed for bacon, but the pro tip I learned from them is to get it with the smoky mushrooms AND bacon and it literally changed my life... it does get a little soggier faster with the smoky mushrooms because they are JUICY so you'll want to eat it immediately, but man is it good. No clue if they still do, but when I lived in the area, they offered a 10% Northeast Neighbor discount which I thought was so sweet--definitely persuaded me to order out instead of making breakfast many a time. They've also got a rotating cast of goods in their fridge case, from things like pimento spread and whipped feta to potato salads and soups, plus beverage options like coffee, juice, and THC drinks. The staff there are all AMAZING, and incredibly helpful and kind, even on the busiest days with a line out the door--it's a small joint (only maybe half a dozen tables, but I heard they've maybe added some outdoor patio seating for the warmer months?) so I most times just ended up taking my food to go.
