Answer: no, the fresh bagels usually get delivered later in the morning. That immediately told me everything I needed to know and saved me from making a bad decision. The bakery case looked decent enough -- black and white cookies, pastries, etc. -- but since nothing is actually made there, I have to assume most of it was yesterday's inventory. Ended up ordering a Taylor ham, egg and cheese on a Kaiser with a large coffee. Fifteen bucks. Look, I understand East Boca commercial rents are insane, especially anywhere remotely near Mizner. We got a friendly welcome. She was quite sweet. When we asked, she told us that Goldy was her sister who had passed away. The restaurant was named after her. In addition to the menu on the counter, they have a blackboard with various featured items -- including soups of the day -- and specials. They use Board Head meats which you can see in the case. We both ordered their Italian sub, but I made a few changes to mine leaving out the ham and the capicola. The bread was soft and went well with all the meats, cheeses, and veggies. It was an excellent sandwich. We each ate half (the sandwich was stuffed with stuff) and took half home. We were talking about other options that they have when the owner mentioned various desserts -- including banana pudding.
