No wait staff. The food was just meh. My corned beef was alright. My wife didn't care for the Mac salad. So adequate food. Not great ambience. I don't know why I really wasn't expecting much coming to this place. I wanted Lox bagels and came here, because 2nd street is always so busy and the food can take forever at times. But the food here is really good! What really got me is how affordable the food was here. Most places ESEPCIALLY when it comes to bagels and lox are so expensive. But I really enjoyed the lox bagels here. My partner had their sandwich which I got a bite of and that was also really delicious! I definitely have to try their pizza. Bronx Bagels and Deli is located on Powerline Road in Deerfield Beach. Owner Michael Friedman opened it about 5 years ago. Friedman moved to South Florida from the Bronx and wanted to bring with him recipes from his hometown and his love of the Yankees. You can find Bronx Bagels and Deli across the street from Quiet Waters Park. There is a small but adequate parking lot in front of the building. Their motto is "Like you used to eat in New York." As a Jersey girl, count me all in! This is a no frills deli with a Yankees baseball theme on the dining wall. Everything is made in house. There are tables and chairs if you want to eat in or they will pack it to go. You order at the counter from a reasonably priced and mouth watering menu that includes omelets, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, salads, sandwiches, gourmet wraps named for the boroughs of New York, burgers, soups, smoked fish platters, and freshly baked goods, New York style boiled and baked bagels and bialys. The corned beef, pastrami, roast beef, and brisket are all popular choices. Once your food is ready they bring it out to you if you are sitting in the dining area. They offer all day breakfast and are open Monday-Saturday 6:30am-3pm and Sunday 7am-3pm. From the number of people lined up to order I could tell that this was going to be good. It was hard to narrow down the choices from a menu filled with favorites but I finally decided on the Mick from the Bronx Bomber's section of the menu. It was named in honor of famous Yankee center fielder, Mickey Mantle and features fresh sliced corned beef with melted swiss and sauerkraut on grilled rye. The sandwich was delicious and so large that I can only finish half. It was served with a side of hot and crispy fries. I washed it all down with my favorite Dr. Brown's Cream Soda. On the way out I had to take to go some of their excellent bagels and slice of their heavenly crumb cake that tasted just like home. I devoured every crumb. The service was so friendly and efficient, especially Ray! In addition the food is delicious and a good value. This is a very chill atmosphere so know that. You go up to the counter and order. You can sit down and they will bring it to your table.We usually order Rosh Hashanah meals from here as well and we are very happy with our choices.It is close to 95 which is helpful to me since I live East. I, of course like their decor because you can pretend you're at a ballgame or taking the subway to it in NYC! In fact, you can feel as if you are hanging out with the Yankees. Food is good but the attitude of the guy who answered the phone sucks. Sounded like I called someone who will be calling suicide prevention later in the day. Also the last time I went in to pick up, who ever answered the phone and took my order that I confirmed with him twice got it wrong when I went to pick it up.. they need to have people who seem to be happy they have a job working there. This seems to be the new way. 2 stars. 1 for the good coffee and 1 for the fast service even tho they are very unfriendly. We were there right before 10am on a Saturday morning. There was only 1 person in front of us and a couple sitting at the table waiting for their food. We ordered some mole meals. Eggs and bacon on an everything bagel and the chorizo, salsa eggs and cheese on wheat toast and 2 pancakes with 2 coffees then we sat at a table to wait. The meal was only $19...I LIKE THAT! It took about 7 minutes to get the food. But when we got it I was so disappointed. I guess I expected more. The bagel had 2 pieces of bacon on it. The chorizo was "cho" as I had 1/3 piece of sausage and the cheese was discolored and hard. The pancakes were ok but I guess they fried w/ the eggs cause uncooked egg was all over them. Flies were swarming all over the restaurant. The tables and chairs were nasty with crumbs but we found one that wasn't as bad as the others and cleaned it. We will not be returning read more

First time. Very happy with my lunch. Tuna on a bagel with side of cucumber salad. Omg that cucumber vinaigrette is sooo yummy. Tuna was fresh, bagel was texture I'd expect as a NYer from a NYer. These were definitely bagel shop bagels. Some reviews are mad bc their order took so long. My visit, they seemed short staffed and were scrambling to serve everyone, so you have to give them credit for holding it together and not closing the store altogether like some places now do. The dude at the register was a SWEETIE. I could feel his pain as the others were trying to sort out the orders. Bagel was just ok and the speed and quality of service is pretty lacking. Came on a Sunday around noon and there were a decent amount of people in the store but there was no sense of order or instructions for anyone who is going there for the first time like we were. They have menus all along the back wall and you have to order with someone along the counter in the back. They give you a ticket and then you pay at the cash register on the left. We weren't sure if you had to pay first or wait to pick up your order to pay. But if you're eating there, you pay first and then take a seat. From the confusing start, we paid and then subsequently waited 20 minutes for our food which is pretty ridiculous. Especially when to go orders seemed to be flowing out faster. Two people in our party just had a lox bagel and a bagel with cream cheese and it still took that long. My whole wheat bagel with two eggs tasted fine. Nothing better than I could have made at home. The quality of the bagel was more bread-y than having a nice chew like a true ny bagel. Everyone else in my group seemed to just feel like the food was standard as well. read more

They say if you don't have anything nice to say, not to say anything at all. However in this situation I am not holding back. I attempted to get takeout on three different occasions. The first two times there were no available parking spaces. I even tried waiting for someone to leave so I can take that spot but that didn't work out. The parking lot is very small. Cars are coming in and out and I found it to be extremely frustrating. I wound up going elsewhere because if I can't park, well then I can't go inside, right? Both times I vowed not to return but since the reviews are good, I did make a third attempt. I wish I didn't but I did. On my third visit there were a few open parking spaces and I was so excited to finally try their bagels but sadly I never had that opportunity. I waited on line and was amazed at the chaotic scene going on behind the counter. Yes, they were busy, but busy is good right? They were trying to get all of the customers taken care of, but they were cranky. I don't know, maybe they were hungry or had no sleep. Whatever the case was that day, it wasn't good. I decided to quickly take a look at the salads and assorted cream cheeses in the deli case, this way I knew what to order once it was my turn in line. I like to see what the food looks like before I order. For example, I only eat white meat tuna, don't like a ton of mayonnaise etc. This was my first time here so this was important to me. Everything appeared to be fresh and did look good. I was about to turn around and get back on line to place my order, but as I took one last look, I noticed a roach in the deli case. I know this is Florida and most restaurants have problems at some point but to see it up close, right in front of me, well that was a dealbreaker. I can overlook a lot, but not bugs, I just can't. I walked out and will not be back, no matter how good the food is supposed to be. This is my experience and I am just one person.
