However, once we got home, we realized that both sandwiches had been made incorrectly. One sandwich was missing pepperoni, and the other had lettuce and tomato even though we specifically requested that they not be included. We drove all the way back to the restaurant to have the order corrected. We were told that they could not simply fix the original sandwiches but could make new ones. We gave the employee our order again, and he wrote it down. After waiting about 10 minutes, he apologized for the delay and gave us free cookies. We were understanding of the situation and the fact that they were short-staffed. However, we then waited another 20 minutes for two sandwiches. During this time, several customers who arrived after us received their orders before ours. When the replacement order was finally ready, it was still incorrect. The sandwich that was supposed to have pepperoni was missing pepperoni again. The other sandwich was supposed to be on white bread but was made on wheat bread. We didn't notice the bread issue until we got home, but we did notice the missing pepperoni immediately. We asked if we could simply get a side of pepperoni to correct the issue. They were unable to provide that as well. Instead, an employee put on gloves, picked up three individual pieces of pepperoni, and handed them directly to us. I understand that restaurants can get busy and that staffing issues happen. What is difficult to understand is how the same order could be incorrect twice, even after we specifically returned to have it corrected and repeated the order to an employee who wrote it down. The free chips and cookies were appreciated, but they do not make up for the amount of time wasted or the repeated mistakes. We should not have had to make a second trip to the restaurant and wait approximately 30 additional minutes just to receive two sandwiches that were still incorrect. Very disappointing experience and unfortunately not one I would want to repeat.
