And I don't care for VonHanson's or Anoka Meats. So road trip to Rogers it is. I've grown up eating smoked meats from Thielen Meats (Pierz, MN) so I judge smoky smells and flavor to them. And walking into the market they definitely had something being smoked in the back! I saw a buffet on one side of the market but that was empty today. Only lunch buffet is offered during the week. Lots of deep freezers and upright freezers to grab different proteins (sausage, weiners, jerky, beef sticks, ground beef, patties and seafood). They also had a freezer full of take n bake pies. They also had a fresh deli salad and meat counter. Two guys working the fresh meat counter were very helpful. Gave me written instructions on cooking everything. It was only me and 1 other person the whole time. After I paid and waited for sis to pay, then 5 other people/families walked in. It got busy quick. We bought a frozen bologna ring (big shoes to fill because...Theilens), a stuffed pork chop, 2 cheesy Twice baked potatoes, and 2 stuffed jalapeños. Also 75/25 beef/pork blend of ground hamburger for only $4.49/lb. That's a price I like. We just came from MG Costco and price compared on different cuts of beef (ground, roast, sirloin, chops).
