Got the recommendation from my son's girlfriend to try out the R Social. We had a party of 5. We had four different meals and an appetizer. We had the Big Shrimpin' which came with 5 shrimp in a Asian wrap and Boom Boom sauce. They were delicious. They have a good list of draft beers and drinks at okay prices. I had the lobster grilled cheese with a side of brussel sprouts without the bacon (pescetarian), both very good. We popped in for an early Friday dinner with our family of three and we were seated quickly. For my meal, I stuck with my absolute favorite, the Tennessee Mac and Cheese. The Wall Street sandwich was a little light on pastrami even though it was described to be "piled high" and the birria tacos were too salty for me. In addition the margarita was very sweet. Coworker/friend and I hit up R Social on the way out to an event in St. Michael. Thank goodness St. Michael is lacking restaurant options. Otherwise, we would not have agreed upon this place. I'm familiar with the OG Rogers Main Street (late 80s- early 2000s; Happy Chef, Stevens SuperValue, Thrifty Pharmacy). I'm so happy to see it being revitalized! This place is so popular that even with a parking lot in the rear, it was tricky finding a spot. We walked in the back door and made our way through the back bar area, up some stairs and to the front hostess stand. We didn't have reservations, and it was a 45-minute wait. Somehow, we were lucky enough that 2 spots had just opened at the front bar. The bartenders were great with questions we had regarding beers on tap and the menu. I am a cider girl and love Downeast. Saw it on tap and knew that was the one. My first sip I noticed it had a maple undertone. It's different, but still good. I ordered the Chorizo Beer Cheese Soup. It was a chilly January day and hit the spot. I also ordered the birria poutine because, ummm.... BIRRIA!! Both were delicious. Fun fact: another couple sat down next to us. In the middle of a conversation with my friend, I heard the man ask the bartender what we were eating. He and his wife ordered the exact same thing, and they approved of both items as well. I was definitely disappointed, it wasn't great gin that was used, the tonic was kinda flat and it tasted more like a splash of cranberry in it than blood orange. Wouldn't order that again. Checked this place out with some friends on a Friday night. Quoted at a 90 min wait, but got a table in less than 30 min. They were packed, so the service was slow.
