We stopped in here during a roadtrip. We stood at the cash register for 10 minutes with zero acknowledgment. There were 5 people behind the counter and only one appeared to be actually working (the one making sandwiches). Sandwich guy was more concerned with fulfilling app orders and not taking the orders of the people standing there. One kid with a headset on (so clearly had some form of experience taking an order) found it more important to spend 5 minutes tying a trash bag in a knot and changing the bathroom trash than to wait on the customers who were clearly standing there waiting. I have never had an issue at JJ's and it's my favorite place to stop when on the road but this location is a hard no for us now. read more

The service here is absolute garbage. I was the only one in the restaurant and waited for almost 8 mins. Before someone acknowledged that I was present. The crew today was unprofessional which is direct representation of their direct supervisor and owner. Won't be long before Topeka stops supporting this location. Horrible location. This is really sad because all the other JJ's I've been to have been great. I arrived at 8 pm - they were not closed. There were two female employees in the shop, both on their phones and talking to each other showing the other what they were looking at. There was a sign on the door that said door sticks, pull hard. Tried twice. They didn't even bother to look up. We figured maybe they were actually closed in the lobby so we tried the drive through. There was also a sign on the drive trough speaker that said bigger vehicles may not be seen please pull up to the window for service. I thought that was really weird but did. Sat there at the window for a few minutes as one of the employees in the kitchen area continued to stand around playing on her phone and the other sat down at a table drinking her drink and made a call. The sandwich bar was dirty and the ingredients were not put away. They were listed as being open but clearly the employees were not wanting to work. Will never go back there again with that kind of lack of service. Too bad, we love JJ's normally. read more

As always I order my number three which is the tuna sandwich, no cheese, extra tomato and cucumber. They oblige. By the time I get my credit card receipt, they're already handing me my sandwich! When I first started working in Topeka this Jimmy Johns was my favorite lunch spot because it was close to my job and would deliver - they were fast, friendly and reliable. I would have given 5 stars. As of a few months ago they stopped delivering to my office (which is less than a mile away according to their website) losing the business of myself and my colleagues who ordered at least once a week as we do not have anywhere to walk to for lunch and they are basically the only sandwich shop that delivers. That alone docks at least one star since I carpool and I had lost my only savior if I forgot my lunch. The real reason, however, that this location gets such a low rating is for the attitude of just a few of the employees at this location. Now that I do the drive thru I'm constantly irritated at the lack of friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Literally every time I go through they greet me with "what's up" or "jimmy johns" or "how's it goin'?" They never ask for my order or thank me or anything. Nothing normal. One time I asked "are you ready for my order?" And they seemed annoyed. In addition once I got back to my office with no turkey on my turkey Tom. I sent an email to corporate with no response. Very frustrated with this location. If you include all businesses within a mile of your location for delivery I will happily upgrade this rating to 4 stars as my biggest beef is with the drive thru. read more

I gave this place multiple chances other than these two instances. Spent 30 minutes in the drive through on one occasion, while I was the only car and could see people walk in and out with their order. I thought drive through was supposedly fast. On another visit, I went in to order. Staff was kind, but they completely got my order wrong... there was not even meat on my sandwich. I will not be going back to this jimmy johns. read more

I've been here - to this location - many times. The staff is always very friendly and the service is fast and my order correct - as well as consistent. I've ordered online, done the drive thru thing and gone in. However I order, fast, friendly service and a cheap, tasty meal. Geesh, I sound like an ad. But, really, I'm not trying to be. Just want to give a real review. This sandwich shop really does a lot right. ...I'm not helping my cause, am I? I still sound like and ad. I almost alway order the Turkey Tom. Love it. Have trouble ordering anything else. I think that's where JJ's is succeeding, is they have simple yet delicious sandwiches, with real ingredients - not a lot of processed goo - and aren't trying to glom up their menu with all kinds of pizzas, pastas and special "limited time!" ingredients. It's a sandwich shop and they know it and that's what they perfect. They keep it simple and delicious. And do it right. I still sound like an ad. Ok, go try it yourself if you don't believe me. The bread is fresh, it's quick, it tastes delicious and the guys (it's always been a staff of all 20-something guys when I go there) are always friendly. There are just two little things that bug me. The music is always too loud (though the selection is nice I'm not deceived with the upbeat tempo that gets you to eat - and work - faster) and the tables don't get the attention they need. Seems all the good ones always have the last diner's remains hanging out... but, a quick mention to one of the 20-somethings and it's taken care of lickety-split. Course, you can always get it to go or have it delivered if those two things bug you enough. So, I Love it! I'll be back! read more

When I entered the place I was greeted with an exuberant "hello" and "welcome" from the employees (not sure if this is customary, but if you're an introvert, beware...personally, I liked it) I ordered the Turkey Tom and added avocado. Very fast service and I got what I ordered. The bread and vegetables were fresh...very tasty. The employees seemed to really enjoy their work. When I left, I got another exuberant "goodbye" and "come back again" from the staff. It's your typical sandwich shop, but the outstanding service made it a more pleasant experience. read more

his was my first and last visit to this place. I went through the drive through and order the tuna sub combo and a slim roast beef. The tuna was bland and dry. It didn't have anything mixed in it but a LITTLE bit of mayo if that is even what it was. No pickles or anything else for taste. Believe me, dry tuna on plain white bread is not what you want to pay good money for. My son's slim roast beef had the smallest portion of meat I have ever seen and the beef was not flavored well at all. I had to ask for my chips and napkins. Very disapointed!!! read more

I was not satisfied with the service that I received the day before yesterday. I placed my order and didn't receive it until an hour and a half later. " So much for Freaky Fast". I can see the store from where I work and I told then to come to the Emergency Room. After 45 minutes I called them back and they said it was miscommunication, and they said they would be rite there. A half hour later the driver called and asked where in building 2, I was. This is a hospital with signs all over the place directing you to the Emergency Room which is in building 1. "HELLO" Then they only comped one of my sandwiches, charged me for the other, then the driver didn't have change for a 20, and expected a tip. I won't order from them again. read more
