The Cold Snowy weather had me craving Olive Garden's Soup and Spaghetti. I did not feel like cooking so I placed an order online. The wait for my meal was about 20 minutes which gave me enough time to drive over. I chose curbside so I did not have to get out of my car. I pulled into space 3 and called to let them know I arrived(my phone doesn't work the best so I couldn't check in on the link they sent. My meal was packaged great, and I received enough grated parm for all my items, I ordered a side of marinara that comes w/6 breadsticks-otherwise I believe 2 comes with your single entree. It was more than enough for me, I actually saved the soup for my lunch tomorrow. I loved also that they packed me 2 chocolate mints! read more

Their wait list is ridiculous, once you set yourself on the list you have 15 minutes to get there. They removed our name after 10 minutes and we were told our table had been given to someone else and we had to start waiting at the end of the line. Estimated wait time 45 minutes to 1 hour. Myself and a friend came here today Saturday 28 th February. The salad and bread sticks are always good. My friend had chicken Alfredo with broccoli which was very good. I had shrimp scampi which had asparagus and chopped up tomatoes and angel hair pasta. Very bland. Worst scampi ever. The scampi had no garlic or butter and was super fishy,made the rest of the meal very unappetizing. Very disappointing. Won't be eating that dish there ever again. I have not been to Topeka's Olive Garden. Portions are getting smaller and prices are almost double what they used to be.

Worst Olive Garden experience I've ever had. Sat at the bar on Saturday, 11/05/2022 instead of waiting 25 minutes to be seated. As soon as we sat down, the bartender called out to a co-worker "no more seating in the cafeteria" so we felt unwelcome from the start. Ordered salad and two entrees, one of which was fettucine alfredo on the "never ending pasta bowl" deal. I made it clear I wasn't eating salad that day (girlfriend was) so I sat there for over half hour waiting on my food. When it FINALLY came out, it was obvious it had sat under a heat lamp for quite some time. Bartender kept saying he was going to refill my tea and THAT took forever as well. The food probably a three star rating, but due to the quality of service overall rating, I would say was a poor or waiter went above, and beyond to give us a quality experience to justify the rating. When boss says she's buying lunch for all at Olive Garden, this gal has texting finger ready to review! I'm WFPB, vegan in a pinch- so I can only imagine what a let down an Italian restaurant is gonna be! They are going to try to drown me in melted mozzarella and parmesan sprinkles, oil laden salads, and sausage and meatballs- I just know it! But I'll show them, if they even try! I got online, and started to tussle with Yahoo, Bing, and the Google; but finally made my way to the Olive Garden menu. I chose a very simple minestrone soup, labeled as 'vegan', salad, and breadsticks. No cheese, no butter. Easy enough. There wasn't much choice though- but I could work with it. I told my boss, 'be very clear', I said. Tell them I am 'VEGAN'. Tell them, 'no cheese of any kind! No MEAT of any kind!', I said. Boss: 'I don't think they put cheese on the salad'. Me: 'They will want to today!' Now mind you, we are both laughing at me and my drama, and making light of this exciting event. Anyway, I'm thrilled to have my lunch bought, and down for a new Yelp review- while still remembering my experiences with last 3 restaurants...I'm learning! So I think this thru- give clear instructions, don't expect them to know vegan, ask questions, and really check order before I leave with it (take out). I'm going in strong, and I'm prepared for a battle- if need be. So, she calls and places the order. I'm listening intently. After placing the order, she non-chalantly places the phone back in it's cradle, and stares at me, with pause. Then she announced, without any expression- 'there's CHEESE in the dressing'. Me: eye roll I announce with determination: 'I'm going to pick up this meal myself!' -and out the door I go, snatching purse as I go. Boss: 'Tip em $5 if they get it right!' she yells behind me. So I get there. I'm ready. They direct me to the bar, lady gets my name. She's friendly. Asks if I'd like something to drink while I wait. That's nice. Within a few minutes, she is back with our order, in a little crate thing. She gets a shopping bag out. Puts a backer board in the bottom, too make it more sturdy. She individually takes each item out of crate thing, shows me, then neatly places into the bomb proof paper bag. That's all a nice touch. She also asks me if I'd like vinegar and oil, since there's cheese in the dressing. Ok, yes please. My armour is starting to come loose. Everything was perfect! As ordered, and then some. I couldn't believe it! What a joy. I also looked around. Lunch time, during the week. Fully staffed, friendly, KNOWLEDGABLE. On time. CLEAN! I'm impressed. Now. Yes. I'm impressed with them doing as good a job as they could do. I was also impressed they have a separate menu that labels vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, etc. They have a dish with zoodle noodles for the carb conscious, whole wheat linguine for the WFPB, and of course vegan and vegetarian options. They have marinara that is vegan, as well. So why only 4 stars, you ask? Well, they failed over the dumbest menu flaws! And here's why: They serve a soup and salad combo at lunch- great. They have a vegan soup- splendid. They a have a vegan salad- fantastic! They have cheese in their only dressing- wait. WHAT?! Major fail! Then I realize, they have a slew of vegetarian desserts, and they have 1 vegan topping. A vegan topping? What do I put that on? A breadstick? So that's it. They lose a star over a dressing, and a dessert. Bah humbug. But seriously. They go thru all the trouble to make up a very detailed menu, but they can't come up with a single good tasting vegan dressing other than oil and vinegar? Not 1 vegan dessert? I'm sure they never really thought about these details, so I hope with this review comes change. PS- That Minestrone soup, marinara sauce I got for breadsticks, and great service, were the stars in today's review. Salad and breadsticks don't get 4 stars- that soup and marinara was delish!! The food was good, however it took Kathryn took 40 minutes to get our order in and she was more than upset that she had to work, since she was not kind and had an attitude the entire dinner. She dismissed our group multiple times and couldn't bother with getting refills. Both the ziosks were broken and she said she couldn't help. Then when we needed our receipts she stated they were out of paper and when we asked her if they had more paper she stated that would require her to ask a manager. Which she never did. On line ordering is difficult using I Phones and driving up to order is a pain with the wait. They also having parking spots so tight you get the smell of smoke if cars next to you have people smoking. I don't understand why they have the space and can not spread vehicles out. To be honest, I was very shocked on the service received today. We arrived a tad before 4 PM and there was NO ONE in our section, and our hostess was wonderful. She knew more than the waitress. We were told we could have up to three complimentary wine tastings but they never showed up- even when reminding her. The waitress, although new, had to ask for a lot of help - especially when I had to explain to other restaurant patrons what the specials were. The waitress also said she had to go find the wines because she wasn't familiar with them. A very very kind woman but I feel like I could have done her job for her which is not how you want your restaurant patrons to feel. Every time we asked for new breadsticks, she always said they were still cooking or just getting put in. A patron who came in behind us asked for a to go order and 25 minutes later still didn't receive it or their check. Finally, disappointed because the one thing we came for - they said was not available on the menu but it was clearly on the lunch menu. Why not be able to make it happen and just charge a bit more so we can enjoy it if it's clearly on the menu? Growing up in a small town outside of Topeka, the Olive Garden was a place we ate at for many special occasions over the years - birthdays, Fathers Day, Mothers Day, etc. I no longer live in Kansas, but after a visit to my parents house for Christmas, we stopped in for a Saturday lunch. This place still delivers solid service and food. You just can't go wrong with the unlimited soup, salad and breadstick lunch. And their raspberry lemonade...all that sugar, but so darn good!
