I'd been a regular here when I worked across the parking lot for 9 months. The food was consistently good and the music choices by the workers were great, and they were very nice as well, occasionally giving free food if there was an issue with my order. Unfortunately, I will not be returning after my most recent experience here. About a week and a half ago, I placed a pickup order about 10-12 minutes before arriving to the store. I arrived and paid, and they only then printed out my order to start (which I can understand to some degree). It was somewhat busy in the store, but people were coming and going pretty fast, including people who had ordered before me. They very obviously prioritized their own delivery service over self pickup and doordash, as multiple delivery orders went out before they started on other customers sandwiches. I sat waiting, in a table in front of the counter, for a total of half an hour before I finally get up to ask about my food and one of the guys on the line just stared blankly at me and said something along the lines of "oh, I guess he didn't call your name." Apparently my order had been sitting behind the counter getting soggy for at least a few minutes. No apologies or any sort of compensation. I was almost late for class and the sandwich was mediocre at best after sitting out. Customer service has declined here and so has the quality. Freaky fast my a$$. read more

Employees don't follow food handling guidelines. Sandwich making guy texting on his phone with gloves on then proceeded to make sandwiches without changing his gloves. Watched him for at least 10 minutes, repeatedly on his phone, then back to making sandwiches. Absolutely disgusting. I asked him "are you seriously texting on your phone and don't think you should change your gloves"? He laughed but still didn't change his dirty gloves. Mgmt. was contacted, told them what happened, told them I had to toss my $12.00 sandwich due to their lack of cleanliness. I can't afford to be sick. Mgmt made no attempt to reimburse me or make it right. Go elsewhere. Jersey Mike's is right around the corner. Disgusting, and even when they're told about employees not changing gloves after texting, they didn't even offer me anything. Not an "I'm sorry, nothing. These guys do not respect their customers' time at all. They explicitly said to another customer that they prioritize in-store orders over online orders, and at the time there were several customers waiting for sandwiches. So if you order ahead online, or you order DoorDash, your time and money are worth less to this business than that of the customers in the store. This is disgraceful. Some people in the restaurant had been waiting for 30 minutes for their orders. I hate to do this, but something is wrong with the management here. I have reached out through corporate and obviously nothing is changing. While the staff is nice and they do their job well, I have noticed several times that they have completely shut down and locked the doors well before closing time. A week or two ago the lights were off two hours before closing so I'm not sure if they were even open that day. Another time I saw the staff sitting outside at a table chatting after they had closed up shop 20 minutes early at minimum. And you have to think about it this way, if you are closed ~20 minutes early, that means you started closing the restaurant well before that because you have to put away product, count the till, clean up, etc. There is no point in having posted hours if you are not going to honor them. And if you're anything like me, it is incredibly frustrating to set out somewhere for a specific meal and then see the place is closed when you get there. I hope this reaches the owner and you get your manager/s in line. Don't ruin your franchise. read more

Usually have good luck at Jimmy John's. First stop at this location. My wife and I both ordered our usual - #6 and #17, both customized a bit. Both sandwiches were made wrong. Took mine back, it was made wrong again (first time had mayo instead of "sauce," second time left off the cheese). My wife did not take hers back (they forgot the tomatoes) but went up afterward and told counterman that her sandwich was wrong and he offered free cookies. This Jimmy Johns was opened in February 2013 and is a welcome addition to our selection of family-friendly, casual + fast-casual options. The location is a long, narrow footprint with access to the street and the parking lot in the rear. There is ample parking (it is shared lot between Panera, Starbucks, Mongolian Grill, etc.). There is some seating, but not a huge amount. So during busy times, it may be smarter to grab and go. On our visit, quality is up to the usual JJ bar. I'm normally a fan of Jimmy John's but this location was an extremely poor example. I gave this review a 1 star bc they did nothing to earn my business, which I had to walk away from. - first I walked in from the back coming face-to-face with the employee that chose to roll his eyes and turn his back to me while disgruntle for having to return back to the register. - no greeting, no words only a posture showing his displeasure of me having entered the business. After ordering he did/said nothing to acknowledge it. - initially concerned, I politely asked him if something was wrong. No answer. Shortly after, before I even get a chance to pay for my order, this employees leaves the register walks around to my side of the counter well past me. - I'm standing there with no transaction complete, not sure what's this guys problem, nor was the other employee paying much mind to make my order. - worst of all, he then picks up a broom to use at counter height to sweep whatever debris that was on the other side of the protective window that meant to separate food from contaminants. That was all the evidence I needed to realize this franchise is poorly operated and unsanitary. Also, considering covid19 I'd imagine extra precaution with food handlers that aren't wearing mask while leaning over your sub making it. I'm assuming this employee is a reflection of management/owner, and/or their due diligence to make a proper hire of someone the appreciates having a job. I called corporate to leave a message with the franchise owner and said I'd give them an opportunity to explain themselves as I will do so here as well before I have any more worst things to say. read more

Called to place delivery order, the girl I spoke with randomly decided to hand the phone off, so I the spoke with a gentleman who took my order. Waited another hour, called again, and she said "so sorry but the shop got too busy and your order didn't go through, can I take it again?" Yep - just what you expect from a JJ - fast subs, amazing bread (wanna hint? Say LBI and they will leave the bread in your sub - personal preference for me). I tend to go for the Turkey Tom and the kiddo the Roast Beef Slim. I'm pretty stoked they now serve the subs with cucumber instead of sprouts. They are just too risky for a food establishment to serve and, frankly, I spent all of college terrified my sub would accidentally come with sprouts on it. Ick. My girlfriend and I love love Jimmy Johns. What's not to love though? From our previous experiences at other locations, they have been "freaky fast", friendly, and you have to love their bread. Or as My girlfriend and I call it, plastic bread. My girlfriend usually orders lunch from this location. She has learned that the delivery is usually slow, so she orders in advance now. I surprised her one day and showed up for lunch, and we decided to drive to the establishment. We have always had great service, so our expectations were set. Let's start out with the parking situation.......Forget about it. This plaza is so busy, especially during lunch. So we decided to do the tag team method. She drove aimlessly around the parking lot, while I went in to order. To my surprise, it was empty in there. They had about six employees. I thought to myself, "Sweet. This ought to be quick." I placed my order. Two turkey toms with cheese. Every other establishment had my order ready by the time I filled my fountain drink. With 6 employees this should be no problem. Now, granted, in the scheme of time itself. Five minutes is no big deal. But if I have learned anything from the Freaky fast propaganda.....it's that you should expect freaky fast service. After five minutes of waiting, I began to observe the situation. Two employees were standing ready at the cashier stand, awaiting the next potential customers. Two more were sharing Snapchats on their phones. While the last two, were making our sandwiches, but stopping in between to make hand gestures about some funny story they were telling about "this one time". I believe it was a manager who came from the back, and whipped everyone into shape. She is what is keeping this review above 1 star. Her and the delicious plastic that is Jimmy Johns bread. After she got the flow of things back in cadence, our order was swiftly completed. I was a little disappointed, and it explained why the deliveries must take so long. But we are patient people. To continue on though. At a later date, I thought I would treat my girlfriend, who forgot her lunch, to Jimmy Johns. I placed the order online. In advance, of course, because we have leaned they are not freaky fast. I thought I would be clever and in the "Who is this for" Section, put a funny name. To ensure the funny name was said, I even included in the comments section to announce the name, and provided an extra tip. My girlfriend read the receipt, and thought the gesture was funny, but she informed me that the delivery girl only read the billing name. A few weeks later, I decided to give it another shot. This time, I put a funny name in every spot possible, as to increase the chances of it being announced. Take in mind, that these names were not inappropriate, simply funny. The same delivery girl arrived, and apparently, has no humor, and just said nothing and handed the receipt to my girlfriend. All in all, the quality of the food is good. But this location does not meet up to the standards of the other locations. Make sure you order in advance, if you request delivery. Have an extra long lunch break if you decide to dine in. And don't expect anything other than "ordinary". They will not go above and beyond. Perhaps I just don't tip enough? read more

I returned to that sandwich place every time I was back in SLC and occasionally twice in one day. Once again I find myself on a work trip and found a new Jimmy Johns. This location is narrow and does not offer many seats to accommodate more than 2. However the service is positive, polite, and helpful without being over the top. They love to slather the mayo, so if you are mayo sensitive like I am, tell them to go easy or sub oil/vinegar/oregano. What did I learn today? You have to go into the bathroom. "There is nothing special about this place" seems to be the common theme from other reviews. And I suppose, if the folks that state this have never been to a Subway, it is true. But let's be real - a lot of sandwich shops are not special. It takes a lot for a sandwich to be a special anyway, unless you're dining in at a sit-down "non-fast food" restaurant. Jimmy John's stands out for fresh ingredients and damn good bread... even their white bread (which I try to avoid) is great. Sure they slap on a little too much mayonnaise that I always seem to forget to have removed... but a quick sandwich with delicious fillings makes my lunch stop a wee bit better. Unfortunity one clerk near the cashier yesterday had her mask off when I walked in so I stayed back until a minute went by and she put her mask up. Then I ordered with a different person. As I stood waiting for my sandwich the gentleman was very helpful but again the girl returned to the front cashier area wearing no mask. The best thing about Jimmy John's is that they really are FREAKY fast! If you really need a sandwich fix and you don't have a lot of time, JJ is a great spot to go! I have yet to find a sandwich there that I absolutely love, but my husband is a big fan of the Italian Night Club. I've tried several on the menu and they're all good enough, but nothing strikes me (personally) as an amazing sandwich. However, there's nothing wrong with the subs either -- they're all decent enough. Service at this particular location is on par with other JJ locations. Parking is fairly easy in the big shared lot behind the place too. If you like sandwiches, and need one fast.... THIS is the place to go! read more

My husband ordered a sandwich the other day. It never showed up. No phone call. No refund as far as we can tell but this can take time. The next day my husband called back at around 7:30pm. Spoke with the manager that said he remembered what happened and that his driver tried to call. He said he could see it in the call log on his driver's phone. My husband has never had any issues with reception at work, but maybe he did that night. No voicemail? No second call? No call the next day to apologize? When my husband called they told him what happened and then asked if he wanted to repeat the order. He said yes. They charged him. No discount. No apology. More like "looks like you didn't answer your phone so this is on you." (Paraphrase) My husband's phone has no record of a call obviously. We are beyond disappointed. Accidents happen. Mistakes get made all the time. When they are, they can be an opportunity to make a customer for life, but to add "insult to injury" is just bad business.
