The last time we ordered from this location our order was messed up--cheese was missing from the cheesy bread & from some of the pizza we ordered, namely the "cheese" pizza. It was actually quite comical and both my husband and I chuckled about it, but we had just gotten back from traveling, were all tired, and our kids were bummed their cheese pizza was cheese-less. So I begrudgingly called the store to see what could be done because, again, having just gotten home from being gone all summer and not having a ton of groceries on hand yet, pizza was what we decided on and nobody wanted to eat cheese-less cheese pizza and cheese-less cheese bread--such a crime! LOL Anyway, I called to let the store know about our order to see what our options were, and the manager, Chad, answered. I was super polite and was apologizing on the front end for even calling, but told him about the cheese-less order, and no more than halfway through explaining what was going on with our pizza (and not having asked for anything), he cuts me off. You could tell he was angry. Like mega grumpy. And it didn't make sense to me because I'd barely had a chance to speak. But he stops me and says, "yeah, I'm not giving you credit or refunding your credit card." I paused for a moment because I was caught off guard by his tone and being cut off. I asked him what my options were since it was clear he sounded angry and didn't want to help and he said, "we can try remaking your order, but we're super busy, so it will be a while. But I'm NOT refunding you or giving you credit. That's your option. Take it or leave it!" And then he started ranting about them being "slammed", among other things. By this point I was asking myself if I was in the twilight zone or something. This guy was super angry, and very clearly didn't want to help. Because of this, there was no way I was going to take him up on remaking the order because I didn't want him handling the food if he was this mad. So I ask him instead, "is there a reason you're being so salty towards me and not wanting to help? Because we've never called with a complaint before." And he goes, "YEAH. Because you sound EXACTLY like somebody who called last week with the exact same complaint and I'm not refunding you this time!" He continued on ranting and raving and very clearly didn't want me to speak because he kept talking over me, but I finally managed to say, "I've never called your store before ever. We've never had an issue previously. And we literally could not have been the people to call you last week because we've been traveling all summer." To which he says, "yeah, I bet that's what you said last week too." By this point it was abundantly clear he was not going to help, despite the fact you can literally see in my order history that the last time we had ordered was in June, so that was the end of the call. I was absolutely flabbergasted that this guy was so ragey, despite me being very polite and apologizing profusely at the start of the call for even bothering him. But he was determined I was lying, wouldn't even look up my account history to double check, and sounded borderline crazy with how he was carrying on. So I posted on a local neighborhood group about my experience as a head up and also to inquire if other people had similar experiences, and wouldn't you know it--I had lots of feedback from other folks complaining about this guy, as well as encouraging me to contact corporate. So I did. I submit a complaint because if other people were having issues, this wasn't an isolated incident and this guy was not manager material. At a minimum, he needs EXTENSIVE retraining. I got a response back from a guy named Andy telling me the local manager would call me back to discuss, but I never received a call. When I emailed Andy back to let him know Sean hadn't called me, it was radio silence. At this point I don't really care to hear from any of them because I won't be going back to this location, and likely won't order from Papa John's again in the future at all, but I figured it was worth sharing here because I'm sure they did nothing. If I can prevent anybody from receiving cheese-less pizza and verbal abuse, it's worth it!

Great!!! A Take out must. We rolled one and cooked on bbq! Coming back soon! (Why do I have to keep writing? I said what I wanted?)

My daughter picked this pizza for the Yelp Big Night In 2.0 a couple of weeks ago. She seems to like Papa John's Pizza and has ordered it several times as of late. They do deliver and there is one nearby. She ordered a large cheese pizza (great for leftovers!) and a side of garlic breadsticks. This place is open for take out or delivery during the pandemic. Give them a try!

So happy to finally have a proper Korean fried chicken joint in NW Seattle!…read more Zip Dak Express recently took over the spot on the side of the Shell station off of 46th & Fremont, which has previously been home to a Mexican truck (Chayote) and a Brazilian burger spot (Capital Burgue). I drive by that Shell pretty much every day during my commute, so I noticed the new truck pop up and made it a point to swing by. Drove up on May 30 and found out they had just soft-opened the day before - so I was basically there from the jump. I ordered a half size of the soy garlic along with a side of curly fries. They're currently only running boneless chicken and tenders during soft opening, which honestly worked out fine since my partner prefers boneless anyway. Before ordering, I asked about the difference between their mild and medium heat levels, and they offered to coat the chicken in mild and serve the medium as a dipping sauce on the side - super accommodating. Good thing too, because their medium is no joke. Think a tad hotter than Wingstop's mango habanero. That's coming from someone who can usually handle spice. The two people running the truck showed a lot of love. I pulled up with my dog in the car, and the kind lady working was quick to come over and give him lots of attention, and a treat! She mentioned that they're hoping to stick around in the neighborhood for the long haul and have plans to build out the seating area - including a fenced section for people who want to bring their dogs and let them hang out. Seems like they're dog people, I'm already looking forward to it :) I'll be honest - I might be a little biased here haha. Fried chicken is probably my single favorite food, and Korean fried chicken is on the top tier. So take that for whatever it's worth. But this was a great first impression, and I'll definitely be back once they open up the full menu, or hell even before that since they're so close.

Our family took advantage of the chicken's ability to maintain their crispiness, even for carry-out. It was OK, though a little confusing. Once we settled on KFC for dinner, our hosts (daughter and son-in-law) suggested carryout from 'The Third Place', which was a little out of the way from where we were. It is the Third restaurant opened by the owner, all Seattle area locations known for her KFC (Shin Sung Korean restaurant with Underground Kitchen and the since closed Yeon's Chicken). The chicken was ordered beforehand, and because it is prepared fresh when ordered, it took a bit of time for the order to be complete. There is a limited amount of sauce choices, so we chose Honey Garlic ($23.99) and the classic Yangnyum ($23.99), both marked as Whole Chicken size. Also a side order of french fries ($7.99) completed the order. The fries were good: nice and hot, heavily battered potatoes, providing a nice amount of carbs to go with the fried chicken. The chicken came with pickled radish (chicken-mu) which for me is a must, and it was good. In terms of the chicken, they were all wings, which isn't what I expected: getting the breast and thigh pieces chopped into bite-size pieces, battered and sauced, is what makes it KFC, vs all wings which is more like a Buffalo wing restaurant. So we still got the expected 14 pieces, but they were all wings (flats and drums). I thought the sauces were fine (intentionally ordered mild), and the chicken did maintain a crunch (though not as shattering as the best we've had).

This is my favorite place to get Korean Fried Chicken, specifically the Honey Garlic Chicken. The chicken is always fried to perfection and maintains its crispness even while it's covered with sauce and surviving the drive home (takeout). Honey Garlic is my favorite flavor, but Yangnum is good as well. The Creamy Rice Cake is not your typical spicy, red Teokkbokki (although they do also have that). It's like they put rice cake in alfredo sauce with slices of fish cake and onions. The texture of the rice cake is superb! So tender and chewy. I order takeout via their website and food has always been ready by the specified time. There are street parking and lots available, but at times can be a pain to find an available spot.

Good deal as I brought 4 wings home with me. I got the lemon pepper seasoning and it was perfect, not really wet but very crispy and tangy. Press the blue cheese crumbles against the chicken. With my leftover wings at home I used my own blue cheese dressing to dip. But really the wings are so flavorful on their own, they don't need dip.
