Jimmy did the suite for my recent wedding and it was fantastic.

Jimmy recently did the pictured suit for my wedding. To put it into context I bought a 48 jacket off the rack to fit my shoulders, chest, and back and a 38 pant to fit my thighs. Both were huge when I bought them and Jimmy did a phenomenal job brining both in and adjusting my sleeve length. He also added a vent in the back of the jacket (see pictures). He did all of this in about a week and a half for a pretty reasonable price. He's very kind and was great to work with as it was my first time with a tailor. I'd highly recommend.

Jimmy is an older gentleman and an assassin with the needle! He sewed 2 patches for me, and when I picked up my jacket, I was shocked! Looks like it came factory sewn. Transparent stitching, and he is a true master at his craft. Highly recommend. Thank you, sir, and God Bless!

Jimmy the tailor offers a 10/10 experience. I had a last minute mishap where the suit I'd ordered was MUCH larger than expected. I needed it next day and Jimmy was able to help me with an ABSURDLY quick turnaround. Very reasonable pricing, and a one of a kind experience with the nicest of gentlemen!

Jimmy has altered several of my suits, blazer, and the shirts over the years. I am very lucky that I found someone as sartorially, knowledgeable and skilled. I have since moved away from the area, I still come back for alterations from time to time.

    This is it!

Good tailor, but overpriced for working out of a basement. If it was strictly based on personality I would give 5 stars.

One of the best in Astoria. Very nice and the suit came back perfect! I know where I'll be going next time.

I brought my brand new suit in to be fitted and he took the time to make sure every part of suit fit just right.

This was off just having a terrible experience with some shirts getting butchered by the local dry cleaner, so I wanted a more professional take. I walked in completely clueless on a whim, tactlessly not making an appointment, and even though it was Juan's lunchbreak he still immediately took the time to see me and work with me. That said... let the man eat. Don't interrupt his break! I still feel bad about it!!! About the tailoring: Juan is just That Dude. He WILL make you look better and point out ways to make the clothes better compliment your body that others don't even know about. The pricing felt extremely fair and not at all like I was being overcharged for the amount and quality of work being done. Not only that, Juan did me a solid by getting the alterations done in-time with a big move out of state. Last minute, off of a random walk-in, and brother still treated me like I was a long time regular. And matter of fact, even though I'm going to be living down south I WILL still be getting my nicest clothing tailored by Juan. That's what his work is worth to me. 10/10 will be making sure I get my nephews' first suits tailored by him too

The additional 6 month guarantee is really nice as well, which might be something I'll be using out. I do wish there was a bit more pricing transparency, seemed like the price just was thought up on the spot. My situation was a bit unique, though, so it probably was.

I visited on Wednesday. Since it was just a simple patch job, I thought it would be done quickly -- but they told me to come back on Monday. When I asked why, the old tailor -- an ill-tempered, grumpy old woman -- got annoyed and said she was too busy. I said fine and came back today, Monday. But the work wasn't done at all, and she told me to come again tomorrow. I said no -- you told me to come on Monday. Then she got irritated again and claimed she only said that because I "pushed her to hurry," which was completely untrue. That really upset me, but I didn't want to argue. She finally said she'd do it if I came back in 30 minutes. It was freezing outside, so I waited. Fifteen minutes later, she called and said it was ready. I picked it up -- but the job was a mess. It looked like a total amateur had done it. I didn't argue and just left. I absolutely do not recommend this place. The tailor is a grumpy, bad-tempered old lady who should really retire and spend her time with her grandkids instead. *** look at the pics how she was done with it. So ugly finishing ***

I needed the dress the following week but told her I could wait on the pants, and she said she could have them both ready the following Wednesday at noon (this was the Thursday before); the dress was a bit of a crunch time situation but she assured me it would be ready by then. I showed up on Wednesday at noon and neither item had been touched. As she runs a pretty small operation, I could see everything she was working on - it was pretty minimal, so I just didn't really understand why neither item had been worked on. They were still sitting right where she'd put them the previous week! She just sort of shrugged in response when I asked why they weren't ready. I came back a few days later to pick up the items, and she'd left pins in the bottom of my pants - she didn't hem them as requested (although she did alter the waist). She wasn't there, though, so I just paid the remaining balance to the cobbler she shares the space with and took the items and found another tailor to hem the pants because I didn't want to deal with it. The dress turned out beautifully, at least! Disappointing experience overall for sure.
