Apparently Jimmy's Egg is part of a popular chain that's here, Alabama, and several other places. While it was a little crowded inside (reminded me of a version of Denny's), we were seated right away. Our server was bubbly and friendly and would've hopped in our car with us once we told her about the adventure we had been on. Good times. I got the cinnamon roll waffle (seemed to be one of the most popular menu item after looking at reviews) and a side of bacon (I think I was cheated out of one piece of bacon as the menu said bacon came in 3's... ). The waffle was great- warm an drizzled with cinnamon icing and cinnamon roll frosting. It was like dessert for brunch. Even though it was sweet, I asked for a side of syrup anyways. My friends had ordered the yogurt (there was a slight mix-up with it not having granola as I think you had to specifically ask for it) and a range of omelettes from the build your own to the conquistador. The waitress kept our coffee cups full and the wait for our meals wasn't long at all considering how busy they ended up being. Food was good, but nothing special. Spent the day in Amarillo and decided to try out a new place I hadn't been too. Jimmy's egg! It's located in a shopping area and could easily be missed. (Glad I didn't miss it) Upon entering we could tell that this place was a local favorite! It was busy, noise level wasn't bad, pricing was great! The wait to be seated was less than10 minutes. As soon as we sat down we grabbed a menu, our server came by introduced herself and Journie took our order. I ordered the Very Veggie omelette with grits and mini pancakes as my two sides, which was delish and a good size portion. My mom ordered a patty melt and fries which she said was "very good and made the way a patty melt should be made". (She wanted me to be sure to add that in.lol) Coffee and milk was our drink of choice. Despite being busy Journie was friendly and informative, made sure our drinks were always full and checked if we needed anything throughout our meal. Absolutely love this place. Junior our server was super patient with us, provided great service, was on top of getting us drinks and utensils. Super polite and understanding with us having four kids to wait on. The food here- breakfast was upper delicious. I had the waffle combo, everything was cooked as shown and described. The waiter was really nice. Very bright atmosphere. Bacon was well cooked and ham was decent. My issue was the pancakes were barely cooked in the middle. They looked great but were really mushy....and I don't soak them in syrup, I pour the syrup beside them and dip the pancakes. Very doughy flavor. read more

Traveling through to see family and saw this place on the road. First off they need a bigger sign to get people to sign in remotely. They ask to text them the number of people and you name but they don't give you a wait time. This part sucked, I was. Single person and they took a much larger part before me. The atmosphere is ok and the food was along par for a family style restaurant. I had the cinnamon bun which was decent size and had good cinnamon sauce and cream cheese frosting. The best part was that it was warm and no nuts. My dish was 3 ragged omelette with sausage, American cheese and green chilies with grits and small pancakes. The funniest thing was when they ask me for sugar on the grits, really southern boys don't do that. The grits were cold but everything else was wonderful. I enjoyed the green chilliest and the mini pancakes were flavorful. I was upset that the grits were cold but he did offer to Nuc them but I passed. The food is usually pretty good. Waiters are usually pretty friendly. However, it's time for this place to have a cleaning. Your feet stick to the carpet like it's full of syrup and it's almost black. That's just gross. Clean it up so it will be an enjoyable place to visit again! read more

I'm a regular at Jimmy's Egg. The food and service is usually top notch. Today the food was good but the service was exceptionally poor. Our waitress was Ester. Apparently my wife angered her when she wasn't ready to order the moment we sat down. My wife was not rude, she just asked for extra time. Ester actively ignored us for 10 minutes not even offering to refill our coffee cups. Once she got over being angry at us she did finally take our order and did a passable job but punishing us for asking for more time is not good service I love Jimmy's Egg and I won't stop being a customer over this but instances like this are not helping them be successful read more

When you see a full parking lot and people waiting outside for breakfast, that's a pretty good indication the food is good. We waited roughly 25 minutes and yeah, it was delicious. I had the biscuits and gravy omelet, man it was super filling but damn good. Coffee was good not sure what brand they use but it was 3 cups worth and now I'm wired. Loved the blueberry multigrain streusel pancakes. It had granola throughout and on top. My eggs were scrambled super hard. Be sure to specify how you want your eggs. Everything was very flavorful. The set up is like a ihop with the booths and tables. I'll definitely come back. read more

This place was hands down the best breakfast we've had in a long time! Greeted and seated right away and our waiter Tyler was attentive to everything and never lagged on anything. To start-the coffee (which I've never been one to have coffee from any restaurant) was so good! They had the Delights creamers and half and half and different flavor options. I had the carne queso skillet and thinking about it makes my mouth water all over. Every bite was delectable and perfect combination with the grits I ordered with cheese. Wife had the chicken and waffles and she said it was cooked to perfection. The waffles were sweet and moist and the chicken paired perfectly (obvi lol) Didn't have to wait long for service or food! This is kinda like a Denny's, but the portions are really big and they have a lot of different options for their pancakes. It was our first time here and there were so many people waiting at the door, I thought we were gonna have to come back, but it was a large party. They will not seat a group until all members are present. Which is good for us since they were busy. We got the queso blanco burrito, and the biscuit and gravy omelette. I got the resses pancakes as a side The burrito was good and flavorful but it was a burrito. The queso brought it all together. The side was hashbrowns- I got them topped with cheese and grilled Onion which really brought everything together. The potatoes themselves didn't have a lot of flavor. The biscuit and gravy omelette was so so so so good!! They literally put a biscuit inside the omelette!! The pancakes were little since it was a side, but really good. I'd stay away from this place if you have any interest in staying healthy. They allow someone to sit at the counter right next to the food prep area, coffee cups and salt and pepper shakers. Multiple tables were wiped down with the same wet rag, no disinfectant. When we asked for a paper towel to wipe the table, the waitress brought us a stack of napkins to do it ourselves. Absolutely no scent of disinfectant what so ever. It was just water. We addressed it with our server who denied what we'd stated. She also told us that they only had a QR code for their menu. No apology, no assistance just here it is. The table next to us had a paper menu. A place that typically has elderly folks in there should offer paper menus to them. Not everyone has a smart phone. So like I said, if you are interested in courteous service, social distancing and disinfecting processes, this isn't your place. read more

Great service and lots of flavored creamer for the coffee. "Almost Healthy Skillet" tasted too good to be healthy :) (added avocado) but the caramel apple pancake was super yummy and a delicious surprise with a layer of little bits of apples. I joined the club and plan to visit again. read more

Just another Amarillo restaurant that doesn't enforce any kind of mask requirement, other than posting rules in the window they don't enforce. The waitress was great, wore a mask the entire time, and kept the drinks full. The food is standard breakfast. The kitchen does it well. All masked. People have clearly found a way to circumvent the mask rule by heading to the restroom until the rest of their party is seated, then walking to the table. I watched it happen twice. Manager on duty (AM - 10/16/2020) wasn't masked properly, walked right by folks waiting for tables without saying a word or even looking at them, but was a classic clipboard manager. My waitress was pleasant and quick to take my order and bring me a beverage. The restroom was clean. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet and it was basic diner fare and tasted good. Nothing out of the ordinary. The hash browns that were served with my omelet were cooked in old grease and had a really awful flavor to them. Genuinely shocked a fight hasn't broken out yet. I've come here every day this week trying to eat and the wait has been 35 min + (I left the other days). They said it's because the kitchen is backed up... but every day? How haven't they figured it out yet? They don't take names or write down the order people show up so the line just stands there and people fight over who sits next. It's really stressful and people just crowd the place and the line goes out the door. They have a sign asking people to stand 6 ft apart which is literally impossible. Nobody even came up to tell us hello or what the wait was any of the days. It was so bad I walked to the back of the place just to find someone to ask.
