The last time I went to Jimmys Egg was 20 years ago in OKC and it was great. Very disappointed and embarrassed today to take my out of town guests to the one in Ardmore. It wasn't crowded and there were plenty of servers but it was almost a half an hour before we could even order our meal. People who came in long after us ordered, were served, finished their meal and left before our food even came. The iced coffee was mostly ice, sugar and whipped cream with very little coffee. Two sips and it was gone. Some of the orders were wrong. The food was okay but cold from sitting so long. We just paid our tab and left. Jimmy's Egg really embarrassed me I'm sad to say. read more

This is not the same Jimmy's egg we have in OKC. We order pretty much the same thing when we visit this chain. It seems the portions were smaller. But some how the quality was off and it was like they used the same recipe but something was off and it was not the same. I can attest that somehow the Tabasco was for sure watered down. It will usually burn my lip and the bottle did not have the same consistency as the bottle I used today in my local Jimmy's egg. read more

#80/2023 Jimmy's Egg originally began in 1980 as a 41 yo Vietnam refugee living in Oklahoma city after doing other jobs decided to venture into restaurant business. Jimmy's Egg was founded. The original location is no longer there there are numerous locations all around their home base of Oklahoma City. Franchisees have partnered up and expanded with a strong presence now in Texas Omaha Nebraska they used to be in Lincoln but the franchise he pulled out and they're no longer there. Springfield and Joplin Missouri Southwest Missouri area Northwest Arkansas Springdale no longer in the Kansas City area where they were franchisee once again pulled out however they are very strong presence in the Wichita and North Joplin area. Open daily from 6:00 to 2:00 at almost every location 7 days a week holidays excluded. They are your classic breakfast Cafe Some have very strong favorable reviews some don't but when you have over 60 locations like any that really a chain but numerous location expansion it's going to happen. This location and Ardmore sits right there off of the interstate ironically across from an IHOP that is not that great and also the fact that the motel if you don't hang out there at night you're not too bad LOL. They do have truck parking for guests. I came in waiting on a load and walked in I was greeted immediately. I sat down ordered up some coffee Took a look at the menu and ordered the Classic combo which consists of two eggs two meats two sides and toast. I got my eggs over easy. My two side choices were the ham and sausage links. Great home fries very nice and freshly cooked on the grill and white toast. Food came out quite promptly tasted very good I had no issues at all contrary to some reviews and my experience was very good if I'm stuck in Ardmore again this will definitely be a place where I will return again for breakfast. On the side note I'm a great link from The Oklahoman news paper with article one can look up Which tells a little bit about the history and this was before the massive expansion and franchisee options throughout those who are interested. It's very interesting what this Vietnamese refugee built and continued working hard until his death from coronavirus in 2020. Well can't post how the food is. I can say the coffee was good. We arrived and sat down. It took about 5 mins before the waitress said I will be right there. It was another 5 mins to get her back to take our coffee order. Coffee arrived waitress said she would be right back. Well after a total 25 mins and empty coffee cup and no food order taken we decided to leave. Asked for manager to pay for cup of coffee we drank. They did not charge us and said sorry they failed in service. So beware the service may be very lacking here. We are currently across the street and have coffee and food order taken under 4 mins. Woke up at 4 a.m. to make a journey from Dallas to OKC (not my choice). Jimmy's Egg made this trek much more bearable! As we watched the sun come up, we unloaded our group of six. I have no complaints. Staff saw our large group come in and attentively pushed two tables together. Coffee was piping hot and server was knowledgeable of the menu and was not intimidated by our large group. I had been on a post-op diet, so ordering from menus can be daunting and some restaurants aren't accommodating. Jimmy's Egg was wonderful; thank you so much. I'm from Texas so I'm used to Texas sized portions, so from my point of view, the portions here are small (but I'm pretty sure the portions are actually normal). My friends and I went on an Oklahoma vacation for the weekend. Jimmy's Egg just happened to be right next to our hotel, and we wanted to try something we didn't have back in Texas. The restaurant itself was super cute and offered a variety of breakfast items such as omelettes and lunch items such as burgers. I went with the vegetarian omelet (added cheese) with breakfast potatoes and fresh fruit as my sides. The food was great- very fresh ingredients and everything was nicely seasoned too. My favorite was the breakfast potatoes- crispy and great flavor! I also ordered a cup of hot coffee (free refills). I found a lipstick stain on my mug, but the waitress was very apologetic, polite and sweet about it. So, definitely great customer service! read more

It's fine. I loved it more in the past, but now (it's been years), I realized they don't have actual butter. As good as whipped veggie spread is, for $15 or so some actual butter would be great. Based on my last experience it's not worth giving up free hotel breakfast. 10 years ago when I lived in the area and frequented it, it was. It's solid food, and if you are looking for a solid breakfast then it's a go. But comparing hotel pancakes with real butter vs jimmy's with whipped veggie spread it makes a difference and it's almost unforgivable for me. To offer a superior product then some garbage like whipped veggie spread is bad. Almost an abomination. Keep making killer pancakes, but give real butter.
