Amazing spot for a classic, cozy breakfast any time of day! My brother was visiting and wanted a homey, sit down restaurant with good eggs and hash browns. We found Jim's online and decided to go around 5 to 6pm on a rainy evening. From the moment we sat down, we were greeted by the most wonderful, pleasant waitress. She was so graceful and kind, which immediately set the tone for a lovely experience. We ordered eggs, hash browns, and bacon, and while we were debating on pancakes, our waitress highly recommended them. WOW. Best decision ever. The pancakes were absolutely perfect. They were soft, fluffy, and so delicious. The butter was real butter, not margarine, which made it even better. I was only planning to take a bite, but I ended up eating the entire stack. It completely satisfied our craving for breakfast at night. Such a great experience all around with delicious food, warm service, and a comforting atmosphere. We will definitely be back anytime the breakfast craving hits.

Pioneer breakfast with sausage gravy over the biscuits.

As always, Jim's does not disappoint. As a matter of fact, this mornings experience included the assistant manager, Nicholas, coming around and checking on everyone's meal and experience. We had the Pioneer breakfast, which is one biscuit and two eggs, and the two eggs and ham with rye toast. As always, everything came out good. Service was also very good.

Today grilled pork chops spinach rice and apple sauce it was great

It's been way too long! I had completely forgotten how good this place was. Old school Country, friendly, wonderful fresh food served with a smile, and such a beautiful clean peaceful place. Cannot wait to come back again for their amazing steaks and an apple pie on the side with scoops of vanilla ice cream !

One of those occasional visits to Jim's. Old school is good. Plenty of food and friendly service. Never fails. That's why we keep coming back whenever we are around this part of town.

Food was warm and tasty and did not take long to prep. Our waitress was also very nice & friendly!

Jim's is the Texas version of a Jersey diner, and it's fantastic! The one negative I will say is they do close pretty early post pandemic. Other than that, great service, clean restaurant, a really big menu of fun items (breakfast tacos, mozzarellas sticks are among my favorites), and good prices.

Outside there's a cute playground, gated, for the younger kiddos. Perfect for those who want to keep the kids occupied but also enjoy a snacky snack and a drink. There are plenty of gluten free options, and we ended up getting the Yardbird Chicken Sandwich on a gluten free bun, a complimentary Reuben sandwich on a gluten free bun, fish and chips, and a burger for the kiddo. All of them were great! Hubby enjoyed the fish and chips and the spray bottle with malt vinegar! Such a fun touch, nice and crispy, and the chips were crunchy and delicious. I actually really liked my chicken sandwich. While it looks standard, it was such a good bite, super filling, and since gluten free, I got a side salad which was nice and simple and light. The Reuben was GREAT! I was so excited I could have it since on a gluten free bun. The corned beef wasn't super greasy or heavy or too salty which I really appreciated, and the aioli was great to balance out all other parts of the sandwich. The slaw, pickles, everything were all so good, and definitely worth getting in the future! And our kiddo demolished the burger in a heartbeat! Add some great service - super kind, funny, and made me feel so safe eating there with an allergy. He was great, and even though he was busy, he did such a great job coming and checking in! We also had a pint of Lazarus Rice Lager which has been treated and is consumable for those with a gluten allergy (not Celiac)! I love Lazarus beers so much, especially this rice lager! So light and perfect on a hot day! We would definitely come back any time! Defintely worth the stop!

We waited about 5-7 minutes before someone came to greet us at the hostess station. After greeting us she seated us. Once we were seated we waited awhile before she came back with menus and she took our drink order. After a few minutes she brought us our waters and took our order. The hostess/waitress was really busy but despite that she did an excellent job taking care of us. For our starters we shared two items. The Carnitas Poutine which comes with fries, pulled pork, cheese, jalapenos and red onions. This was really good. The pulled pork mixed with the other ingredients was filling and could be a meal on its own. We also shared the fried cheese curds. They came with a tomato sauce and a buttermilk sauce that you could dip your curds in. These were really good when they came out. The cheese was nice nice and stretchy and the exterior wasn't very crunchy but added texture. Both sauces were good and each had a distinct flavor. For our main meal we all shared a bowl of the Truffle Fries. They aren't on the menu but the waitress told us that if you request them the chef can make them. They were really good fries. My husband and son both ordered the Southwest Pimento Burger which comes with beef, pimiento cheese, jalapenos, a tostada, corn relish, and aioli. They said that the burger was really good. I ordered the Harvest Burger cooked Medium. It comes with beef, cabbage, apple jam, aioli and cheese. I ordered mine with swiss cheese instead of cheddar cheese. The burger was delicious. It was cooked perfectly. I could taste all of the combined ingredients and really liked the sweet and salty flavor of it. It was just balanced so well. Overall Oasthouse is a good lunch spot. The service was good despite the waiting plus they have a variety of starters and delicious burgers.

The food is incredible, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff truly make this place special. Huge shoutout to amazing team members Ariel and Emily for being so warm and kind. The lovely woman who helped us during our last visit also gave Zoloft a pup cup, so they've consistently shown kindness to our little family. They even gave complimentary vegan cookies to guests when we arrived (not sure if it was a special promotion, but such a thoughtful touch!). And the ice cream... WOW. 100% worth the hype. The barbecue here is elite. And all of the sides we had were just as good…read more Is the wait long? Yes. But there is a reason it's so crowded. People know. The staff is super friendly- they'll talk to you about the menu while in line, update the board on what's still available if you go later in the day. And they have a whole menu of "anytime eats" that you can order directly from the bar without waiting in line. Been here three times. From the "anytime eats" menu, would highly recommend the chopped cheese brisket sandwich- absolutely divine. On Thursdays they do chicken fried steak which was VERY good- but I found myself wishing I had just waited in line for action bbq. Onion rings are some of the best I've had. And the cornbread is a next level version that beats out fine dining restaurants attempts- hands down. For bbq, I've had brisket, sausage, pulled whole hog, and Tri tip. I think the Tri tip is a sleeper hit here- it was melt in your mouth tender and still had that wonderful smokiness. The brisket was.... Brisket. Very good. Great bark. Didn't really stand out, IMO. But it was what you hope for with brisket. Sausage as well- very good. The pulled whole hog rivaled the best of the Carolinas. Smokey, tender, rich. Just delicious. And I guess this is what surprised me most- how two bbq dishes from different regions (CA for trip tip and NC for whole hog) stood out as excellent dishes here in Texas. Where many of the bbq spots here really focus on the brisket as the star- it can feel repetitive between all of the famous spots. But at L&L, all of their dishes are done to excellence and they have put their own twist on. As their slogan says, new school barbecue with old school service. Can't wait to come back.

Every ingredient worked together perfectly--from the soft bun to the fresh toppings and delicious sauce. You can tell they put the same level of care into their burger as they do their barbecue. One of the best burgers I've had in Austin. Rich, flavorful, and satisfying without feeling overly heavy. If you're visiting Leroy and Lewis, the burger is a must-order. I'll definitely be back for another one.
