The place is packed with merchandise from front to back and their all around selection is quite amazing. It's especially fun to take a look at the military surplus for sale. You can almost always find something you just got to have and surplus prices are quite reasonable. Firearms, archery equipment, ammo, even mens and womens clothing can be found. Selections in all these areas are decent. They even have a rather large footwear store attached with an overwhelming number of boot and outdoor wear choices. Last month I visited and was incredibly impressed that they actually had items in stock that no one else in the area can get. I went to 7 sporting good stores that weekend trying to find black powder for muzzleloaders. No one had any. I almost didn't even bother to ask when I got to Bobs but decided to try. Not only did they have it, they had all kinds and a fair amount of each. I'm not sure how they get it when no one else can, but they seem like the go to place for the unusual and hard to find. It was when husband requested assistance about reloading supplies and certain caliber bullets that we were met with bored sales people. I understand they are asked the same questions by different people everyday. I understand that they have no control over supply and manufacturing problems, but It doesn't take much to answer in a pleasant tone. Frankly, we weren't the only customers treated in such a manner. I recently traveled to Sportsman's Warehouse in Altoona after learning from their website that they had the rod holder I wanted in the size I needed. The website was very clear that this size of this item was in stock, could be ordered online and picked up today ( see attached screenshots). I decided to just drive up and pick them up rather than ordering ahead. When I got to the store I was informed sorry we are out of them. In fact it wasn't just this size they were out of. They only had one of four available sizes in stock. This despite all sizes being listed in stock, available today for pickup in the store. I did get an apology from the salesperson, but that doesn't compensate me for wasting half a day and $20 in gas to get there and back. Don't believe anything you see on their website. They probably haven't got it. This is most disappointing as I really enjoyed shopping there in the past. Guess I'll have to go elsewhere in the future.

He was extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. After cancelling my order and issuing a full refund, I went back on their site and ordered the same revolver again. This one came in poor condition as well. Shane, again, spent a ton of time with me, and ultimately I elected for a refund. Smith and Wesson gets a 0/5 stars. Sportsman's Altoona should get 10/5 for how helpful they were. Couldn't have been an easier process with a better staff. I would absolutely go through them again.

The employee working at the register didn't want to believe us when we told them that the price that rang up was not the one posted for the item where it was located. He wanted to argue and possibly thought that we were haggling. But when we pointed out to him the price on the rack, which was in eyeshot of the register he became a bit defeated. I explained to the salesperson that both colors were on display for $39.99. He went and looked and came back and said that was a mistake and people move shoes around all the time and the best he could do was $50. He said he couldn't go below $40 because that wouldn't pay for the cost of the sneaker. I said NO. I know how bait and switch works and that is what this was, not a mistake that BOTH colors of the same style were in the wrong place. i was in there to purchase a firearm and the guy behind the counter just handed me a tablet and…read moredidnt help at all and due to not helping i got locked out of buying a gun there for 24 hours after already paying for a background check, the employee idk what his name was but he was more focused on what him and his coworkers were talking about rather then assisting in helping with the purchase, i told him that i was confused and that something went wrong with the tablet and he told me i was locked out because i answer the questions wrong even tho i asked him what to do. Poor service and the people behind the counter were lazy and didn't seem to care about selling the gun just getting the customer to be done and not buy it, i will not return to buy a gun or anything due to lack if help.
