GREAT First time Experience!!! The Kids Absolutely loves this place--Endless FUN. The staff were super friendly and helpful with the animals. I enjoyed seeing deer, llamas, and rabbits roam freely !! Kids were a little scared ...but a great learning tool. We can't wait to go back to go fishing

They had everything from farm animals (like goats, sheep's, llamas) to exotic animals (like a zebra, kangaroo and a camel), to u-fishing, and to 1/4 mile hike. There really was so many things to do. You could easily spend almost the day there. My husband, 3 year old, and 22 month loved it and all were sad to leave for different reasons. My husband wanted to stay longer because he wanted to fish more, my 3 year old daughter wanted to hug and pet the goats, and my 22 month old son wanted to drive the toddler McLaren car. Unfortunately, it was I who wanted to leave because I had a killer migraine. Suffice to say, we will return on a day where I don't have an all-day migraine so that I have the energy to push my toddler in that car. Parking is plentiful and is free. Restrooms are portapotties. Bring your own lunch and enjoy your time with family!

They are also curious and look to sit in thought quite often. The staff was really kind and were present every step of the way. Some people complain about the smell, but seriously, it's a petting zoo... also I know the animals are not "free roaming", but they did not seem unhappy and look to be cared for well. If you would like a cool experience with capybaras, this is a good option. Also, they have a goat named Beast and he is an interesting creature lol. Overall, my family and I had a great time. I am sure experience will vary from person to person, but overall, it looked like everyone had a good time. If they could improve on anything, the reptile zone needs work, but it looked like it was going through some remodeling, so not being too critical on that.

We were greeted at the door by a very nice staff member (Actually all the staff were friendly and polite). After a brief chat about rules we entered the animal encounter. It was clean, and the animals were very accessible. There were wallaby, capybara, maras just to name a few. We purchased a bucket of food and it lasted the whole time we stayed. We enjoyed the ability to roam without time constraints. It did take a little while for littles to warm up. If we come back this way, we'd stop by again.

And apparently I forgot that there was a ride you can go on to stroll through the forested acreage to look at animals out and about. But going off of my previous review it appears I indeed was on this ride before...even though I cannot remember for sure. A lot of has happened the last ten years...so I will keep it at that. The cars that you sit in as you stroll through the forested area are new and electronically run so definitely more eco-friendly. As far as exploring the main area it's about how I remember it as far as looking at the animals and the different types of ones here. I got some great pictures of one of the wolves here and a bunch of them started howling farther back in the wolf area which had a very haunting but beautiful sound to it. The otters put on a good show in the water for us, saw some great looking bald eagles, a golden eagle, bears, racoons, lynx, beaver, owls and a skunk. Like any zoo experience it seems like you can't see every animal that is here either because they are camouflaged and you can't see them, they are nestled deep into a nook or are simply off exhibit which was the case here. We didn't get to see the wolverine, a few of the bigger cats and the red fox. Northwest Trek is still a ton of fun and an extra bonus here was that the park was all decorated for Halloween and I got to see some really great props! They were closing early the day we were here to get ready for a Halloween event once it got dark. But despite that we got to see everything without any kind of pressure to leave...but of course we got there quite early as well!

I've also had numerous occasions where a quick chat with staff seems to be a good venting time for them. Hearing from staff on multiple occasions about how horrible the day is going and "not paid enough to care" is not a great conversation to keep members coming back. Finally, the playground area. I watch my children as they play on the playground, but there is a section that I have to remind my children to stay away from each time. I often see other small children running near this area and almost fall each time. It is the twisted ladder that extends to the top of the rock wall from the ground level. It has a large opening in the top with no barrier for accidental falls. Even watching my children while they play, I still get nervous of this section as it only takes one wrong move for them to be falling out of this gap. The playground seems accepting of children of all ages but in reality, it mainly caters to smaller young kids. This section should be removed or at least add an additional barrier to prevent any future accidents.
