The Tom Kha Kai was not on the spicy side at all, and the sauce they gave me to tack on to it was mild - however it was one of the three best Tom Kha I have ever tried, which is saying a lot. I had Paneer Makhani for my main course and two things I noticed - I expected the color to be more towards red, and this was not. The second was the rice - yellow basmati, as if it was cooked with saffron. I may be a bit of a snob but I like my basmati to be white when I eat Indian food as I don't want anything else influencing the flavor. The curry was good, but it didn't have that velvety texture usually seen in Makhani dishes - probably due to a reduced tomato content. And it was definitely missing some heat. Service was great and consistent. There were two servers at all times checking in and refilling water, and they were overall very courteous. Ambiance is a tossup - paper handkerchiefs with the cutlery is a no-no for Indian food since it's saucy and can spill easy. You couldn't even cover your lap with what was offered. The music was one small thing looped over and over, so it was repetitive. And it was expensive. $28.00 for the Paneer Makhani was overkill.
