I don't usually put a bad review on unless it warranted but I'm not sure what's happened to the Steak & Cheese there but I took my boss there for lunch about 6 months ago and bragged about how good the steak & cheese bomb was and the whole sub was changed. I went again today and it was exactly the same. Huge chunks of tough steak with no flavor and that you have to almost pic the meat out and eat it separately. Makes me believe it's quicker and easier to cut big chunks vs taking the time to do it like Jitto's had for 20 years prior. Also I'm not sure if there's some sauce that they use but my sub was soaked when I got back to work so I just opened the bread up and ate the inside. Pretty disappointed that Kathy's awesome place has changed its famous S&C so drastically. I won't be making the trip there any time soon I guess. I'm not saying that the other food is bad as I've really only gone there for the famous S&C Bomb sub so don't let this stop you from going. Wicked disappointed , Been going here since day (1) . Probably (5) to (6) times a year since it's conception. Always had a great meal...until this last Sunday. I ordered pick up. A large Supersteak Special, which I've ordered many times. Got home and was really disappointed . The supposed tips were like gnawing on a birch tree. I dined at Jitto's while visiting my wife's family, and I must say I enjoyed my meal. Let's get into it... Ambiance - This is a bar/restaurant type atmosphere. Nothing fancy, nothing to write home about. We were taking our food to-go, but I noticed a good sized dining area that could accommodate both large and small groups. Service - Since we were getting our food to-go, I don't have much to say about the service. The lady who took our order was nice, and I got a cup of ice water while we waited for our food. No other interactions, so no complaints from the small interactions I did have. Food - My daughter got a beef sandwich and I ordered the steak bomb. My daughter was disappointed in her sandwich (I think she was expected a more flavorful roast beef), but I really enjoyed my steak bomb. It was my first ever experience with a steak bomb, and it reminded me of a slightly different version of a Philly cheesesteak. The meat and toppings were tasty and the cheese (while almost invisible) was still present in the sandwich with every bite. Overall, I would return for another steak bomb. I can't comment on any of their other offerings, but the steak bomb was legit. My daughter even took pieces of my steak bomb and liked it, so I think if she had an opportunity to order again she'd probably go with a steak bomb as well. read more

The food was SO good. I got steak tips and onion rings, both were PERFECT!!! The steak was the perfect mix of juicy, sweet, and umami and the onion rings were perfectly fried and they even added the fat ones!!! No, seriously, the hygiene of this place alone is enough to drive me away the fact that you have flies and no, it's not just one or two it's usually a whole flock of them is bad enough to keep me away. The staff is usually in inattentive and screwed up my order at least twice. In this economy you get what you get I guess. If you are in the area you have to try a cheesesteak sandwich from Jitto's. I've been eating here for decades and they use steak tips for their cheesesteak which makes all the difference in the world. Marinated chunks of steak tips with cheese toasted in a sub roll. It is absolutely delicious and perfect when you need a protein boost. Whenever I have ordered a cheesesteak elsewhere they pale in comparison to the sub at Jitto's. I highly recommend. Jittos has lost their minds. Ive been going there since 1979 spent $40+ on Pizza, chicken tenders and fries. When i picked up i asked if the dipping sauce was in there for the chicken and if not i wanted blue cheese. I was informed i needed to pay 50 cents per cup if i wanted any..i had already paid for my order. I told them i never get charged for this and what about ketchup. Was told it would be an additional cost as well. I needed something for the chicken tenders had to find my visa card and pay a whopping $1.09 with tax for dipping sauce for my 2 orders of chicken. Complete insult when i just paid $40+ for food and go there bi weekly since im a local. Wont be wasting my money there anymore and its not about the money as much as it was an inconvenience at the time as well as the principle . Ive been going here regularly since 1979 and expect better service than this. read more

The menu offers subs, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, pizza, calzones, appetizers, salads, fried seafood, pasta, desserts, and beverages (bottled and Pepsi fountain drinks). The prices for subs/wraps are in the $5-$9 range and dinner plates $9 and up. The food I've had here has been decent. The large Steak & Cheese Sub is good with tender & chewy steak tips grilled to order & melted cheese on a soft crusty roll, but for $7.55 with tax, it's really a small sub for the money. We've been going to Jittos for YEARS. It was our local go to spot. Great friendly crowd and service. For the past 6 months it has gone down hill a lot, sadly. I assumed with new ownership, they were just getting used to taking over the business and working things out. I went in with my family for dinner, and we sat for 20 minutes with out being acknowledged. So we left. I figured we would give it another shot (since it was a favorite!) we ordered 2 steak bombs and fried mushrooms. The quality of food is not good anymore. The steak bombs were very over cooked, tough steak bites, burnt salami, and canned mushrooms! They never used canned before. The fried mushrooms (that were fresh mushrooms ) were extremely over cooked! We gave them a second chance. I'm sad to say one of our favorite local places we've been going to for 20 years has come to an end. read more

We recently discovered Jitto's earlier this year and have gone several times since. Not once have we left disappointed. Great comfort food (try the cheese fries!) and just an overall great vibe. We came on our most recent visit with our 3 young girls who got the greatest joy by using the dollar bills we gave them to play whatever they wanted on the jukebox. The bartender saw them living their best life and took it upon herself to throw in some Disney tunes (I'm sure much to the dislike of those sitting at the bar! They were all good sports though). I decided to try this out Jitto's yesterday as I have driven by it often but I had never explored it. I got a roast beef sub and cheese fries. The food was pretty good but my only complaint with Jittos and why just three stars was dealing with their cashier who was pretty rude and condescending. I get it, that on a Friday night it gets busy with calls and the general loudness of the their dinner guest but she was just so short and irritable in our exchange. It took about ten minutes or so for my order to be up so I had a chance stand away from the counter and watch her moan, bitch and roll her eyes about her computer system / cash register being down, Customers not knowing how to order (Phone Orders) and about one of her coworkers leaving some cash and recites on the counter. I was there with two other customers who were also waiting for their food orders and we just kept exchanging looks over her childish antics. She was short, with black hair and she wore a dark blue hoodie or sweatshirt. Her biggest issue or complaint was of a customer ordering chicken tenders but wanting them cooked medium. She was complaining about how dumb the customer was for not knowing that only steaks come in medium and chicken is only cooked one way. On a different note, as it got busier one of your other workers. A tall gentleman with a big red beard and red hair who had / was prepping food orders behind the counter and handling the register next to hers was pretty cool. He took a few orders, and was friendly and professional. I get it that people have bad days or encounters that make them upset but for someone who comes in for the first time she's a poor representation for your business. read more

Going in I didn't realize steak sub was not similar to Philly cheese steak. Which was what I was in the mood for, so I was thrown off a bit. The steak was very tender and flavorful and the bread was slightly crispy on the outside yet tender on the inside. Was certainly delicious. I don't ever leave reviews for businesses but I was looking up the online menu when I saw a review from Friday the 25th and saw that I was indirectly mentioned in said review. I got a steak sub and it was delicious, although a bit pricey. The restaurant appeared to be very busy, one customer did not understand that and repeatedly tried to start a conversation about how they had never been here before while the cashier was trying to help others or answer the phone. She was short, efficient and to the point in my exchange with her as well, as to be expected on a busier night. The restaurant appeared to be understaffed especially for the numbers of orders they appear to get on weekends. The only point I saw that could have been described as rude was when a man from the bar side of the restaurant walked up, dropped some coins in the tip jar and told her "smile more pretty lady" and her face instantly looked disgusted. Considering she and the other cashier both appeared to be young teenagers I didn't find her reaction condescending nor rude. At one point she was on the phone with a customer repeatedly explaining that chicken could not be cooked medium and that it had to come fully cooked asking if they meant to ask for steak instead as that could be cooked medium. When she hung up she looked at another cashier and said out loud "Am I just dumb or can chicken not be cooked medium?" As for the other complaints made, I believe anyone would be frustrated over machinery not working during busier times or clutter and mess left at their work station. In my opinion, some people just don't know how to go about their lives without nitpicking and complaining about something everywhere they go as a short scroll through other reviews made will tell you that. In short, I greatly appreciate and applaud all of the workers at Jittos for their amazing food and service. read more
