We knew this was a popular spot, but for the price we couldn't believe how poor quality the food was. I ordered the crab cakes.....what came was burned patties the texture of wet bread...there was no discernible crab anywhere. My husband's clam chowder was very watery. I couldn't eat the fish and chips and had to leave feeling sick after trying the supposed crab cakes. i know this sounds hard to believe, but it's true. 2 people in our party of 4 ordered steamed clams for lunch today. When we asked for melted butter, our server told us they only had hard butter....wait! what?!! The clams were undercooked, evidenced by translucent, puffy bellies. Lunch on a January Tuesday and this place was very active at noon. A full bar, we found the last two seats. The legit fireplace was providing great atmosphere on a rainy cold day. My husband was stunned by the great draft beer list. He saw so many rare pours that he had a tough time choosing. Beer lovers paradise! My prime rib steak and cheese was very good and was large enough that half the sandwich became my dinner that evening. Very tasty hand cut fries and a pickle rounded out my meal.
