Lexi's in Exeter use to be good, it's in the toilet now! Service was horrible and the food as evidenced above was nasty.. The rings and fries were good and my burger which took forever to receive, people after us 2 separate tables received their food first.. The server a young guy didn't even know the other staffs name, calling her Grace and her name is Gabby.. Hubby got a grilled cheese with a burger on it, 2 skimpy pieces of cheese and the bread wasn't grilled at all. The Big Catch Fish Sandwich which is 11 bucks was a disgusting overcooked fishstick on a bun, hubby only wanted cheese.. The image below was a re-do of the Sandwich we sent the first one back... Interesting place. There are two sides. You can choose to take the food to go or move to the other side of the building and eat in. The place seems to be trying to attempt to be a 50's burger type joint. Loud oldies music. The acoustics are a meh. The layout of the place seems like it was just thrown together with wobbly tables and slightly uncomfortable benches. I do like the encouragement of kids drawing their interpretation of the business logo of Peace, Love & Burgers. In fact, even though the food was ok, I like this aspect the most. I have the Green Muenster and Fried Pickles. The burger is a good size and tasty. I was hoping for a bit more of a bite of spice. The pickled onions were coated in an armor of batter that was a bit salty. My partner had a burger special with gochujang. Interesting thought, but no spicy taste at all. He ordered onion rings with the same salty and armor-like batter. This stuff is hard on the jaw. The wait staff seemed pleasant, yet awkward. Overall, it was a good quick lunch. Our families was greeted with Lexie's Burgers, fried and shakes the day we moved in nearly 5 yrs ago. We continue to return. Recently, I had an extra good experience with service on a phone order. Bridgid was extra helpful, cheerful & proactive to make sure we got exactly what we hoped for and we did. Brigid was also slammed juggle a lot at peak hour and NEVER showed the slightest whisper of irritation by my questions or delayed answered. TL;DR Good food, super casual, not good for some physically handicapped people This review is a 4 for the food and service, but there is room for improvement, and I believe it's really on the corporate level. Using cocktail napkins as napkins when your eating messy food is not appropriate, or cost effective as I used way more napkins than I would have with better ones. Also serving fries topped with yummy deliciousness in a small paper tray does not work well. The water station is a nice idea, but I was on crutches and asked for a water and was directed to the water station. I get the feeling they don't like to have to wash dishes, the silverware the cups the trays, everything's paper plastic and disposable. Also being on crutches, It would have been helpful if the door to the dining room, where the open flag is by the way, was an actual door to get into the restaurant, rather than having to go to the door where the counter is and walk backwards to the dining room. Many people go to that door first since that's where the flag is, it was actually comical to have to watch everyone walk to the other door. Also when I was looking for a restaurant to go to, this one said it was wheelchair accessible on Yelp, but then I get there and there are no handicap spots out front, and the bathroom is not ADA compatible. Now for the food. The burgers were good, sort of like 5 guys, you can build your own with tons of toppings. But they also have some signature burgers so that you don't have to nickel and dime yourself to death. I had no idea what hush was on the instant classic burger, but I saw hush hush on the sauce menu and assumed it was a sauce, still not really sure what it was. I had it, reminded me a little of Big Mac sauce, the burger was good but messy, drippy droppy everywhere, no silverware. I also got hot fries. I liked the toppings, but only the top layer has toppings. When I read hand cut fries, I didn't expect shoestring, but they were good. One thing that bugged me was that I paid $5.95 for a chocolate shake and they charged me an extra .25 for whipped cream. Really? read more

Tried this place for the first time in Exeter, and it is one of my new favorite spots on the way to, or home, from the beach. Quiet spot, good parking, and tucked away so it's like a secret. We were seated right away by super friendly staff, and the ambiance was great for after a trip to the beach. Menu was clear and incredibly well priced, with plenty of options available. Food came out swiftly and was obviously made fresh once we ordered it. Couldn't get enough of their hush sauce on the plain fries. Ordered the farmhouse and it had a perfectly cooked egg on it. All in all an amazing spot. 10/10 would recommend and I will be back ASAP for more. Wish there was one closer so I could get my burger fix more often! read more

They have to be the slowest service I have ever had to make a burger. It took about 45 minutes. We almost got up and left. They weren't even busy. We love this place! Local, with several different locations. This particular location is at a gym/athletic field so a lot of the customers are parents waiting for their kids during practice. We first came for the truffle fries and the bistro fries, both of which are amazing. They have bacon on them, but it's crunchy bacon bits that I could do without. The chicken fingers are seriously the best I've ever had. My friends that love Lexi's make fun of me because the burgers and fish tacos are amazing, but I get the chicken fingers. This was our first time visiting Lexi's. We found it via Yelp. It turned out to be a hidden gem. I ordered the urban cowboy and my daughter ordered the fish tacos. Both were absolutely stunning. My hamburger was probably the best hamburger I've ever tasted in my life. My daughter wants to move here just to eat the tacos, too funny! We also ordered the truffle french fries, they were absolutely delicious as well. The ice tea that we got to drink was fresh brewed and not the instant crap.
