Update to my review - 1st visit was great - 2nd visit I had an appt at 420. - got off work early to go there - only 2 people working and a ton of desks, neither of which was the one I had an appt with that did my nails before - sat there til 5 - a they took a pedi walk in while I waited. - at 5 asked how much longer it would be for my 430 appt and the lady say maybe you come back another day. I still have to polish and have appointment coming soon. No thanks - I will go elsewhere- what a waste of time!!! read more

I failed to ask the technicians name, but he is the only male there. He will never ever touch my feet again. I have been going to this salon for about a year now for my pedicures. Cindy usually is who I have the pleasure of having. Not today, my fault, I will always make an appointment going forward. He made me bleed with the spongey thing he used to scrub my feet, he burned me with the paraffin wax. He kept rubbing in the same spot till it bled. Before you comment to yourself, my feet do not need scrubbing that much. This is the only time in my life I did not tip one penny. read more

So after several fruitful attempts to call this business all I got was a answering machine telling me " the voicemail was full " so I decided to drive there to make 2 pedicure appointments at 4:00 . When we arrived at 3:55 and picked out polish colors we were approached by a woman (owner?)who said " yes I know you have appointments but it will be another 35-45 minutes . Looking at their sanitation protocol I'm glad we didn't stay.. I was a salon owner for 20 plus years in NY and all can say is you want to waste your time and possibly get many infections can I just tell you I saw no barricade jars and implements that were pulling out of drawers. The department of health would have closed me down, maybe it's different here in Florida? Run don't walk away from this establishment. read more

I'm in town visiting and I needed a place to do a pedi and they did amazing! There was little to no wait and they are all very sweet. They do a very detailed and nice job. I'm very happy with my toes. I also got my nose hairs waxed, with no charge! It was painless and I am a very satisfied customer! Will be coming back in the future! read more

I hate to change reviews, and I have tried not to for a long time, but this takes the cake. I've been back several times since my last visit, and quality goes down every time. I had an EMBARRASSING gel manicure the last time I went in. She didn't understand me well, I tipped and said to myself next time I just won't see her. Yesterday I went for a pedicure, and the woman who is always behind the desk and seems to run the place did it. She cut skin next to my toenail, bad. It was incredibly painful at the time. However, now it's 1,000 times worse because it's swollen, red, throbbing and infected. Tools were clearly not clean, I should've asked to see them pull out of them sanitizing pouch. Will not return. I will say there is one man there who does an excellent job, I wish I knew his name but haven't seen him there the last several visits. I'd rather pay more for quality work, and to leave without a nasty, painful toe infection that I now have to see doc and start antibiotics for. Steer clear. read more

Here from out of state wintering over for the first time and needed a pedicure. The rates were fair and similar to back home. The process and end result of my pedicure was excellent. Couldn't be happier with it. The nice man I had was very experienced, I could tell. Also, I had talked my husband into getting one too as his heels were pretty dried out and cracked. He (reluctantly) agreed. He loved it! Of course he did not do polish, but he liked the massage chairs, mellow music, soaking his feet, getting his nails trimmed and the nice woman pampering his feet and calves. He admitted it was a good experience, even though he did feel a little weird about getting out of his comfort zone and trying something new. He said he would do it again, but I doubt he would ever go alone - lol. read more

sat me in a chair not telling me I would be in it for 30mins. yes, I did ask how long the wait would be. I was told "No wait". the guy made me bleed twice . full set nails is what I got done. I wanted them I polished and buffed. I can never get home without messing up the paint. they were a bad job and i could tell he was done for the day and didn't care. thank knew I would have to do some work. The tips were either too small or too big on my nails. I did the jest I could to file and fix them. it was like when he knew I didn't want them painted and only biffed he had an attitude. He put a top coat of clear and you could tell the ridges in my nails just from the top coat. chunks from underneath. they were bad. I have it to stars cause it's been two days and they're still on. have a appt to see if they can be fixed (at another place) or if I have to have them completely redone. Tim was accommodating and friendly. I went in for a acrylic dip. The shop was clean and I was greeted promptly. He was friendly, talkative and professional. I will definitely go back again. The only reason I didn't give JJ a five star rating was because they did not rough up the polish before wrapping in foil, so did not remove the acrylic on my nails. I had to soak them in acetone. I discuss this with him and he said he would try that next time. I felt welcome and comfortable at my shop. Plenty of colors to choose from . I went to JJ Nails to get my nails done for the first time in a long time due to the overwhelming good reviews. I am not picky and do not consider myself to be judgmental. I overlooked the fact that the nail salon is located in a rinky dinky shopping plaza and I couldn't communicate well with the employees. All the reviews stated that the staff was super friendly. I did not find them friendly or welcoming. When I called to set up an appointment, the man on the phone sounded rushed and annoyed. I almost decided to not go just because of that. Due to the reviews, I encouraged myself to go. I wish I could go back in time! When I walked in at 2:45 pm for my 3:00 pm appointment, a woman asked me what my appointment was for. When I stated powder dip manicure, she sighed and instructed me to sit down in a chair. A minute later a man comes over and tells me to move over to his station. This man was obviously sick with a runny nose and was sneezing. He put a mask on. I shoulder have left (UPDATE: I felt sick a couple days after coming here and had an upper respiratory infection for 3-4 weeks. NO LIE.) I didn't, "the wonderful reviews" made me stay. The station was dirty. The man began to use a tool that smoothed my nail bed and he picked the head of the drill from a dirty little black box filled with white powder that was obviously from other people's nails. Great! As he was drilling, he kept touching the edge of skin that connects to my nail bed. It hurt, A LOT. He knew, he kept apologizing. He later said that I have small nails. I don't have small nails. He cut me in 3 separate areas that made me bleed. He kept dropping his brush tool on the floor and would use his finger nails to clean my own nails of excess product. The powder dip design I asked for was French. This is the worst French I have EVER had done. Why it was a so bad: (1) the lines where the white tip met the pink were not defined and were smudgy, (2) my nail bed was rough and bumpy with AIR BUBBLES everywhere, (3) there was black debris stuck on several nails, (4) half an hour later, I can feel both thumb polishes were lifting and causing uncomfortable pressure in the entire nail bed, as I write this review 4 hours later it has worsened, and I can now feel uncomfortable pressure in ALL of my fingernails, (5) one nail had a huge white smudge (can see pictured as my ring finger) and another nail had a smudge when it was touched by the guys hand, not by me, (6) my nails had debris underneath my fingertips and my fingers looked super dry, and (7) the white tip is sheer. This mess cost me a 40-minute drive to and from home and an hour and 5 minutes of pain and helplessness due to the language barrier. The customer service was nothing to rant about. I was charged $40. The Kiara Sky Powder Dip set box cost $99.99 (the box was set right next to me, I could see the price sticker, they kept it on the ground behind the desk). The service and product was disgusting and overpriced. Please ignore these wonderful reviews. This place is not sanitary and did a terrible job on my nails. Look through the pictures and you'll see that another girl uploaded the infection she got after having her nails done here. read more

So I called for my second for a fill Monday I went in they told me he called in sick so I made a appointment for the next day Tuesday they called me and canceled my appointment she said he wasn't coming in so they made a new appointment for 9:00 am on Thursday. I was dying to get a pedi so I decided to go here while I was in the area. The salon was nice and clean, enough mani tables and pedi chairs. It wasn't as busy so I was glad I didn't have to wait long. The prices were decent, not that cheap but cheaper than getting your nails done in New York for sure. After looking online extensively for a place to do my nails and reading all the positive reviews I chose JJ Nails. I left feeling mighty pleased with the way my nails looked. My only complaint had been a small cut on my left hand ring finger. After a few short hours a small bubble had formed. The next morning I woke up and my finger was swollen and very painful to the touch not to mention red, yellow, and white in color. I went to the hospital and turns out I had gotten paronychia. Not sure if it was from the tools or the mans hands having dirt on them. So I'm sorry for the one star but I'm mighty displeased with having to be on antibiotics from getting my nails done. read more

In the middle of my pedicure, the guy's previous customer complained that he put some design on there that she didn't want, so he walked away, saying nothing to me and worked on her nails while I sat there for 5 minutes. I left with still rough heels and nail polish on other parts of my toes outside of the nails. Not even 20 hours later and my finger nails are already chipped.
