I got a burger with cheese - it was perfectly cooked, juicy and seasoned to perfection. My wife also got a burger, and she can't stop raving about it! Atmosphere: you immediately feel right at home. I've been here twice now and they have very low standards. The first time I got the chicken cali sandwich and it was cut in half. The piece of rubbery chicken was so small it was only on one half. The other half had none! Fries are great. The next time I ordered the southwestern salad with no Jalapeño. It's was a pile of freezing cold iceberg lettuce with black beans and corn on it. It was pathetic. I asked for at least some cheese to put on. She brought out a cup of tasteless cheese and charged me $1.00 for. Geez, throw some diced tomatoes, good cheese and avocado on there. Have some pride in what you put out! Two tries is enough! But again, the fries and service are good! read more

First time here and stopped in for burgers and drinks. Homelike atmosphere and very welcoming. Burgers were locally sourced and generous. My mushroom swiss burger was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the bourbon burger with fries. Drinks were cold and generous. Server was fantastic. read more

Stick with the burgers. I had the Angry Irishman, and the Bourbon Burger on a different occasion. They were better than great. The chips that come with it are homemade and great. Their fries are great. We tried their pulled pork sandwich. It was awful. The feeling that I've had on a couple of occasions with this place is that they run low on food. The pulled pork had mainly dark meat in there, along with a piece of fat. The pickles in there did not make it taste any better. Their wrap chicken sandwich was okay, but nothing amazing. I'm generally not a fan of wraps though. One time we had a great salad. The next time they used bottom of the barrel lettuce. It was terrible. Stick with a burger. read more

Pros: A pleasant sports bar atmosphere with the added refinement that the audio was turned down so we could actually have a conversation. The service was really nice, we were welcomed by the guy at the bar and the waiter was prompt and pleasant. The grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and avocado dressing on grilled sourdough was superb, the meat was freshly grilled and succulent, and all the ingredients worked perfectly together, best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The side of slaw was great too. Cons: The grilled chicken over a salad was under-whelming -- the chicken seemed to be exactly the same cut as on the sandwich but not freshly cooked, rather cold and chewy, obviously prepared earlier and refrigerated, and the "salad" itself was mainly a pile of too-finely cut lettuce slightly browning at the edges. The chips that came with the sandwich were homemade which is a nice idea but they were over-fried, almost charred, so the taste was gone. We will go there again, it's convenient and, for us, nostalgic -- we remember when it used to be a family restaurant with a dinner menu. And hopefully they can reform their attitude about salads and realize that people who order them expect the same quality as their burgers and sandwiches. read more

Welcoming atmosphere that has been newly renovated! The burgers are delicious as well as the fries! Had the pulled pork sandwich the other day and ate every last bit! Soup season is back and I had a cup of the chicken tortilla to go with my pork sandwich, delicious. Live music usually on Fridays in the bar that makes for a good time! But also laid back lunch spot with lots of regulars! Bartenders and wait staff are attentive and food comes out pretty quick. read more

I never had been to JJ's as I live in Boston. I needed a spot for a college reunion. This past weekend under JJ's outdoor pavilion we all had a great time. JJ's catered the meal and had a dedicated server for drinks. It was solid pub fare and great selection of drinks and beer. We pre-ordered pasta, Chicken parm and salads for a buffet style meal. They have 2 TVs and we could eye the Red Sox game. Also, played 80s music as we requested. It was a very cost effective option to compared to other establishments in the area. We were 25 people. I think they could accommodate more too. I'd recommend JJ's for your next event particularly those who may be weary of being indoors these days. It's basic and solid. We didn't need more. read more

We held a surprise Birthday party in the upstairs area of JJs last weekend and it was PERFECT! Jon wad so helpful in the planning, answered all of our questions and made sure everything was done right. Aaron was our bartender and took such great care of us during the party. DO NOT HOST A PARTY HERE The 1 star is only for the bartender tonight. My friend paid $1400+ for her moms birthday party here... for a cash bar and 1 round of food (no one came up and checked if anything was empty and needed replacing). We brought our own cake and cleaned up all the tables because there was was absolutely no staff until the very end of the party at 10:15 when all that was left to clean up was the cake which we offered to the waiter to give to the waitstaff multiple times because we felt bad wasting. He then told us to "fuck off" and went down the stairs and yelled to the first floor bartender in a room full of people "can you tell these fucking bimbos to take their fucking cake". Absolutely ridiculous that waiter should be fired and half that money should be returned since we basically paid 1400$ for a room for 4 hours. read more

We had a great post concert dinner! Quiet local venue on a Sunday eve. Bar keep hooked us up with a great Irish red beer just put on draft (wasn't even on the menu yet so you might need to ask ). We all ordered burgers and they were cooked PERFECTLY - seriously delicious. read more

Absolutely delicious! I had the fried grilled cheese(yes I prob should be eating something healthier) that was Awsome served with a side of home made chips! My old man had the BBQ chic sandwich and he seemed to enjoy it more than I did mine so I know it must have been great! Good beer selection and plenty of booze to choose from! JJs hosted our wedding reception in October in their outdoor pavilion, and everything was amazing! It was a new thing for them, and they were very flexible and communicative when figuring out how to handle the event. Jon, the owner, was really great, and he was almost as excited as we were! lol The whole staff did a fantastic job getting everything set up and making sure the food and drinks were flowing all night. It was the perfect casual atmosphere while still being fun and romantic. I'm so glad we took a chance and had our reception here! It was also MUCH less expensive than having it in a traditional event space. I would absolutely recommend it for any event! read more

We had our rehearsal dinner in the private room at JJ's and it was absolutely perfect. Just the vibe we were going for. The team at JJ's, and Jon specifically, could not have been better to work with or more accommodating. Food is great! Fairly standard bar menu plus some twists on some standard fare. Get the wings!!! Great neighborhood spot; the staff and customers are always friendly and welcoming. The "13th Floor" (shhh it's really the second floor) is great for events. My friends and I have had multiple events there, and the staff have always been incredibly accommodating and easy to work with. read more

It's a shame this isn't better, as it's in a great location for people who live in Florence. My band has played upstairs and that was also less-than-stellar. The food is not well-prepared and actually made us feel a little ill. Our beer tasted as if the glass and/or the lines were not clean. It's a shame because they have an opportunity to be great. Typical pub food, nice bar area. Went with a party of 8 we ordered chicken wraps a salad and a burger platter. The food was HORRIBLE. They advertised home made chips they were served practically burnt. No one in our party liked their food. The waitress was very nice the downstairs bartender was a grump NOT friendly at all that was my second experience at this bar with this bartender and both times I felt as if the customers were an inconvenience to her. We didn't finish our meals (that's how bad they were) we headed upstairs for live music. Different bartender (colorful hair)and very friendly. Different ambiance altogether. Sooo much friendlier! LOVED the live music..Chris Hartman was the performer. Pool tables and I think dart boards. Upstairs was A LOT better and would recommend this bar ONLY for live music. Went out to western mass to visit family and went out for lunch at JJ's Tavern. Right off the bat the menu had my attention. The staff was super attentive and very friendly. The burgers were incredible. The cowboy fries were like nothing I have ever had before. I'd drive two hours just for them alone. Please do yourself a favor and stop by! If we lived in this area we would eat here at least a couple times a week!! We will be back. read more

Food was horrible and the drinks were worse....everyone brags about how good this place is..yuk! Burger greasy and under cooked....asked the waitress it the bartender knew how to make a certain drink and was told of course...saw the bartender looking it up in a book worse version of this drink ever...told the waitress if the bartender did not know how to make this drink would order something else..do not believe the wait staff they do not know what they are taking about...husband's food was as bad as mine...left 85% of the food on our plates when we left. We tried JJ's Tavern on a whim and we're happy to find a place with a lot of potential. I had the Pastrami Dog and really enjoyed it. My wife had the Honey Jalepeno Cheddar Burger, which was ok, but could have used some stronger flavor. The roll was a bit cold and dense, but I believe that may have been because there was a heating problem in the building overnight. The place was very cold and we got there right when they opened. The server told us that some of their tap lines had even frozen. The beer selection was pretty good and there were other items on the menu looked promising too. They have a $5 kids menu with the basics, which is great for us, but the atmosphere is still very much that of a bar. I would bet if we'd been there on a Friday or Saturday night it would have been filled with a louder, less sober crew. But for a lunch spot, we like it just fine. Also, our server was amazingly nice and helpful, I hope that the rest of the staff is as awesome as she was. All in all, this place has promise and with a few changes could easily be a 4 star spot. read more
