Super blueberry pancakes! Wider than the knife! DELICIOUS!

We meet family at the Miss Florence Diner 2-3 times a month for breakfast. The service and servers are great. They get to know you. The breakfast choices are numerouts. The blueberry pancakes are delicious and " super sized!" The Irish Breakfast plate is also awesome. The Veggie Lovers plate ( minus the eggs...I have an allergy) is filling. Never have to ask for a refill of coffee. The servers automatically come around. This diner has a wonderful " home atmosphere ." Do we love coming here? We sure do. Have heard the dinners are also great. Will set a date to go for dinner and try it out. You should, too. You won't be disappointed! Very reasonably priced.

Heading to Yankee Candle on the earlier side gives us an excuse to go to breakfast. This place was a home run! Charming, historic with the best waitress we've had in a long time (and she only works Sundays!). The Cowboy omelet for hubs, the Big Benedict for me-- home fries were delish, portions huge! My hollandaise sauce was broken but other than that, loved it all! Great for people watching and a hearty meal (breakfast and a show lol). I don't doubt that we'll be back many times!

Another win in western MA. 10 score for the queer-o-meter! We got basic breakfasts and it was great. Service was friendly and accommodating. Per usual I was a PITA and the waitress was awesome. The food was fresh, cooked to order and accurate. The table side jukebox was SO COOL. We plopped in some quarters and listened to ABBA as well as a few other fab groups. Go here and enjoy yourself. Cheers!

Stopped in on a Saturday late morning for brunch. Place was jam packed. The original dining car, circa 1942, has about 15 stools and 7 booths. There are an additional 4 booths in an addition. All booths and 13 stools had fannies. My server, Leah, was very capable. In fact, the two servers are tasked with a lot... busing and cleaning tables, taking orders, refilling beverages, cashing out, answering the phone, etc. etc. etc.. I ordered the corned beef hash w two eggs over, home fries, and sourdough toast. Considering the mob scene, I was pleasantly surprised when my order came literally in minutes. The CBH is home-made, but has the consistency of canned.....no chunks. But it was very excellent. Leah did a great job, checking on me several times. BTW, in answer to my question on whether the CBH was home-made, she mentioned that they go thru about 600 to 700 POUNDS of corn beef in a typical week. Handicap ramp on the side. Bathrooms are clean, grub is good, prices reasonable. Worth a visit.

Breakfast......very nice overall. Great ambiance. Lowlights: The pancakes are nothing special. They were kind of rubbery and soaked up the syrup like a sponge. The coffee is standard diner coffee......just average. The maple syrup was real......

I've coming here for a few years already and finally decided to officially review it. Whole belly clams are plump and juicy and the fish tacos are delicious. Plus you get two tacos per order. What a deal! I love the contrast between the cold crunchy cabbage/cilantro and hot crispy fish. The belly platter comes with a small side of coleslaw and fries but you can substitute the fries for the onion rings for only $.50 more. It's worth it! Their haystack style onion rings are super skinny and tasty. Portions are generous too! Lobster rolls are great with nice large lump and claw meat. However, I would recommend to go when the lobsters are in season between June and December so the meat is sweeter. Outdoor seatings are plentiful but in the winter, you can sit inside the river valley co*op market next door. Service is friendly, quick, and simple. One window for ordering and one to pick up. I always come here once or twice a year when I visit my Northampton friend. Highly recommend this place for comfort and casual dining!

Done right…read moreas someone who has worked away through more Thanksgiving prix fixe menus and buffets I care to admit I can say with confidence that hotel Northampton delivered one of the most well executed holiday spreads I've experienced in Western Massachusetts. From the moment I stepped inside that historic lobby beautifully decorated for the season, warm, inviting and buzzing with celebratory energy, I knew I was in good hands. The staff had that polished anticipatory service style that instantly sets the tone for a seamless dining experience. The Thanksgiving buffet was thoughtfully, curated, and impeccably maintained throughout the seating. The carve of turkey was exceptionally moist, no small fete on a buffet line and the stuffing and mashed potatoes struck that perfect balance between upscale and comfort, familiar seasonal size or vibrant, fresh and clearly prepared with intention rather than filler. Special shout out to the carving station team who prepared a wonderful prime rib roast - they were not only efficient, but genuinely personable, the kind of hospitality that elevates a meal from good commemorable desserts, the pumpkin pie with a silky custard with just the right spice and the pecan pie was rich without being cloy. I may or may not have sampled more than one plate in the name of research. Service was consistently attentive without hovering. Plates were cleared promptly and check-in is perfectly timed. You can tell this team knows how to handle high volume holiday service while keeping the guest experience front and center. Hotel Northampton nails a classic New England Holiday vibe with elevated execution, relaxed, delicious beautifully organized Thanksgiving. I'd absolutely return next year and recommend it to anyone looking to celebrate without compromise.

However, when we got our bill, they charged us $59.95 for the buffet! Additionally, they tacked on a mandatory 20% service charge, even though no-one ever waited on us, and no one ever refilled our drinks or cleared our plates. When we complained to the cashier and the manager of the $59.95 charge for the buffet, neither one would reduce the buffet charge to the advertised $34.95 price. They are lying bandits!

And though I can't guarantee that the town was so vibrantly and unapologetically queer nearly 30 years ago when our paths diverged, I can say that in 2025 it was completely my vibe. Though lesbianest - it def was. After Dinosaur Footprints, my trio needed to grab some lunch. They spoke highly of Local Bar and what a delicious choice it was. They have a nice lineup of preconfigured burgers - the teriyaki seems to be a local favorite - or you can build your own. The best is that you can have a beef, turkey, or veggie burger with any style. Unfamiliar meat sometimes sends me running to the baño and I still had a 3 hr drive up to NH. So I opted for the Farmhouse style burger with a veggie patty. It came with cheddar cheese, bacon, and our house maple mayo. I told you maple is my fave flavor. Excellent decision - the server even complimented my choice lol. The veggie patty was homemade with mushrooms and other grains - texture was elite and the umami was palpable throughout. It also didn't fall apart in my hands as other veggie patties are prone to do. I also got an order of fries but this is completely a place where you could get a burger and skip the sides and be satisfied. My dining companions were more in the know in this area so we shared the fries. Free refills too which thrilled me to no end as I strongly dislike nickel and diming on drinks. Parking can be a challenge in this town - but since it's Pride Month the rainbow gods were shining on us and we found 2 spots right next to each other just around the corner from the spot. Great food, stellar service, clean dining area, central location, something for vegans and meat eaters alike. Can't go wrong with this one!
