I just needed to cut some dead ends off. After she finishes up which it took her less than 10 min she turns me around to look at it and my heart drops. I went in with hair that was to the middle of my back, just wanted to get some dead ends snipped and left with shoulder length hair.. I look at the ground and see pieces of my hair that are 3-4 inches long. I didn't know what to do so I thanked her, paid, tipped well, got to my car and called my fiancé sobbing. I understand it is hair and it grows back but I've done so much to heal and grow my hair and get it to where it was at just for someone to chop it all off in less than 10 min. As a female it really messes with your self confidence. Like I said I didn't want to leave a review but every time I look in the mirror I just get so sad I miss my pretty hair and not only was it all chopped off but it was straight chopped off when I had layers and a nice V shape to the back of my hair and now I don't even recognize myself. The staff is very friendly and I believe they are knowledgeable on what they do, but when someone comes in for one thing and leaves with another because you were rushing.... that's just not okay.

I came a few minutes early and was seen right away, with no wait. I asked Emily what she thought I should do with my hair and she said she really liked my current cut and suggested a trim, taking off a half-inch. I was pleased with her honest judgement: I had gotten a cut in Montreal a few months back and was very happy with the cut except it was overgrown. She trimmed it quickly yet skillfully, blow dried my coarse wavy hair into a flattering style and then trimmed and textured the ends so the cut lays well. Best of all, my hair looks great even when I don't heat-style it. Dried naturally, the waves are nicely layered and just seem to fall into place--a sign of a good cut. I've tried a lot of places in Elmhurst, but this is the first place where I've gotten a great cut at a reasonable price ($35 with first-time customer discount, not incl. tip). This isn't a cutting-edge, hyped up salon--it's a comfortable, relaxed place, mostly patronized by middle-aged moms like me (as far as I could tell from my weekday afternoon visit). No frills, easy-going, no blasting music, no product-pushing. Just a great cut and great service. I'll be back! Disclosure: I will receive a $20 discount (or 20%, I can't remember) for this review, but I'd give Emily and the salon five stars anyway!
