Awesome place to hang out with friends and even better for burgers. Staff is super friendly and nice. Just a couple random facts about this place, they give you free postcards to write while you are waiting for your food. Afterwards, they pay for the stamp and send it out for you. Also, they sell alcohol quote shirts for 16 dollars. Bit pricey in my opinion. Ok now about the food, they have a decent selection of burgers here. I got the Mt. Mushmore along with seasalt fries and savored every bite of it. My friend enjoyed the Humpty Dumpty burger and cajun chips. After trying some of his chips, I wish I ordered the chips too. Don't get me wrong, their fries are awesome! It's just the chips were even better =). Another thing, they have sriracha here! First place I have seen in Bismarck that has sriracha. Given the combination of good customer service, delicious burgers and free postcards, I will definitely be coming back here again soon. read more

Great to sit at the bar and watch all the action. Fry's, Chip's, and Burger's all with the help of cool automated machinery. Chip's were great with Jalapeno salt, and beer cheese dip. Had the Rajun Cajun burger with a fried egg and Jalapenos, most excellent. read more

Great place to get a burger and good beer. Service was excellent. Food menu is pretty limited but what they do have in menu is delicious. I personally love their Mt Rushmore burger with blue cheese, fresh chips with a Great River Dirty Blonde. read more

A bijillion beers on tap, huge Sierra Nevada selection... which I skipped since I'm from California. But I did enjoy a local Mandan brew, which was cool. Nice to see ND catch up with the rest of the beer world finally. The burgers were yummy, not gourmet but tasty just the same. They charge extra for everything, still very reasonable. Mushmore burger was tasty, the fries were salty and snappy, the a/c was heaven. However...no one mentioned this was a franchise! There's a string of stores across the Northern Plains. Was a little disappointed that they didn't ask how I wanted my burger cooked ( I prefer medium), but always forget to tell the waitress. This place has one of the largest beer selections in town and they have a nice patio. Their menu is small, but everything I've tried has been tasty. The downsides are that it's very small, it's hard to eat/dink with a group larger than four. They also charge extra for every little thing: seasonings, sauce, even the water! read more

Glad I took the advice at my hotel to go here for a good burger. It was a great burger! Had the Classic with sautéed onions and really enjoyed it. After hitting most every state in the U.S. and many food venues, I can honestly say this place is one of the most pleasant surprises I've come across. It makes Bismarck cool all by itself. The staff is great, the food is fresh, and your choices are which burger to get and which beer to get. Don't fret, they'll sample out the beer for you. I have always had a great experience there and I love that their chain is native to North Dakota. I've eaten at the Bismarck and Minot locations. Each and every time the wait is minimal, service has been excellent, and the food, as far as burgers go, are some of the best I've eaten. Absolutely love JL Beers! They had a wonderful, friendly staff and tended to my party's needs excellently. Their brew selection was incredibly diverse and beckoned my inner drinker to come out... Lol My only complaint was the narrow space between tables. It felt a little too cramped. All in all, it's a great place for a burger and a beer. read more

Just moved into town and tried this place out. I was happy to see the large list of draft craft beers and thought the food prices were reasonable. Considering I haven't found a place with comparable beer selection in the area yet my first impression was very positive. It went south when they told me they didn't have tap water and only sold bottled water for $1.50. This is a deal breaker. I am not sure how a bar and restaurant can only offer water for $1.50. What about the non-drinker in the group, DD, or pregnant wife??? This is a poor business decision and I won't be back unless they start thinking straight. read more

I've enjoyed the food the few times I've gone there and nice selection of beers. However, I'm disappointed in the unprofessional behavior of the staff. You don't stand behind the bar and make negative comments about customers, and certainly not when it's audible. My last visit was not a relaxing comfortable experience as it should have been. I've noticed this in my previous visits but was much more obvious this time. I won't be returning. read more

The food is sooooo good. The burgers are divine, freshly made, they come out quick and I've never had a bad meal here. The homemade fries are also incredibly incredible. I love the slaw burger. The beer selection is fantastic. If only the space were a little bigger, it gets crowded quick and it can get quite loud in there. Great food and excellent variety of beer in a fun setting. Fun, with one major exception. Two TVS above the bar were showing cable news, one Fox and the other CNN. I don't want to see Ebola news when I'm out to have fun. The manager told me they had the two in order to show "both sides" of the issues, oblivious to my real point. You gotta get the beer cheese dipping sauce with the fries too...Seating is all high top and limited though, so not a good place to bring your grandparents if they struggle on high top seats...learned that the hard way...also cant be under 21 no matter the time of day. beer is expensive & water isn't free read more

The service is always quick and the servers and bartenders are always helpful if you feel like trying a new beer. The burgers are great and made fresh (the humpty with bacon is one of my favorite burgers in town) the patio is a nice touch also. Its a no brainer that they cater to beer drinkers (beer is in the name!) But they are very friendly either way. Also they do carry out orders and a very quick. Would recommend to everyone read more
