I started with these guys when they were small. Needed them for a problem with my daughter's furnace this past winter. I was unable to get a return call. If there was no star , that would be the most accurate. JM Mechanical in Cincinnati is the original installer of our AC HVAC unit. I called them because the AC was not cooling enough, ( Chris ) from JM came and said that there is a leak, need to find the leak, fix it and fill it with Refrigerant. He gave an estimate of $1070. I gave the okay to fix it. After they did the work, it still not working properly. They came the next day and got the unit to work and bring the temperature to 72 degree. That was in April, 2026. On June 12, 2026, I called JM Mechanical again for the same problem, the AC is on all time and temperature will not drop below 78-79 degrees. Nick Bell from JM came and said that the Coils are clogged and need to be clean. Not sure why they didn't diagnose this issue the first time. The worse part was Nick Bell told me that they couldn't clean the clogged coils because they are very busy and the earliest they could come is over a month from today. Nick gave me the company owners name ( Kyle) and asked to call him. I call Kyle and his phone number is no longer in service. Then I called the direct company phone number and no one picked up. Left messages and I am still waiting for a call back. It is now 5 days! And still waiting! What kind of company is this. I DON'T recommend this company JM Mechanical and will never use them again. Used to be a long-standing customer of this place, until today. Friday (10/31) we noticed we were not receiving heat. I attempted to use their website to set an appointment; no luck. I attempted to call them, no luck. I finally got ahold of somebody for a Monday appt. (11/3). in that appointment, they diagnosed the problem as a bad board and said they'd be back the next day or 2 with a replacement. we received zero communication, despite multiple attempts from both myself and my wife through calls, texts, or their website, to get an update. all this without heat, while we have 2 young children. this morning (11/6). I get an email essentially saying "sorry, we can't help you". we've now gone a week without heat in our home. this is the lowest level of service I've ever seen from a place like this. The callous disregard for our family, who've used JM since we moved into our home in 2019, is disappointing and clearly the motivations of the company have changed. I implore everybody who reads this to find somebody who prioritizes customer service, communication, and loyalty because this place isn't it. read more

Working with this company over the last few months has been a nightmare. I've been a customer for years with NO problem. A few months back during a service call, the technician broke my mini split unit completely. This was mid July. That left me without AC in my bedroom basically indefinitely until I called and complained enough times that they brought me a window unit to "borrow" about a month later considering it was 90 degrees every single day. They then told me another month later that they ordered the wrong part to fix my unit and that it would be another month. Now month 3 has rolled around and when I go to call to try to get an update nobody answers my phone calls, emails, nothing. It's like this business has disappeared. They broke my unit and now nothing. I should not have been so patient with them over the last 4 months. This is insane. read more

we bought a furnace from JM mechanical less than 2 years ago. It went out on. Feb. 14 2026 and it's March 13th and we still don't have heat. They have come 5-6 times to try and fix with no resolution. Lots of calling and waiting and waiting for them to hear from manufacturer. They dropped off crappy space heaters that dont work. I'm out of ideas on how to get them to come fix it or replace a lemon they sold us and installed. we Have no idea when this will be remedied and my house is freezing. I'm tired of sleeping in a sweatsuit trying to find things to do outside my house and not wanting to come home after work because my home is not comfortable. I had another HVAC company come out since no one answers the phone here and was informed the install was not done correctly. Dont waste your money or time. Find a more reliable company. Service has went down hill over the past year. We have been a loyal customer since 2020, but can no longer take the treatment with the horrible customer service from the owner and vice president. The only one that seem to care about the customers is the receptionist, however, there is nothing that she can do for the issues that we are having.She just relays the message. Owner and VP dont reach back out or respond to calls or emails. They(VP) have cancelled on two no heat orders day of service, telling me to us another provider as they have no one that can work on the Equipment that they installed. We have an extended warranty and now having to pay out of pocket for work that should be covered under our extended warranty we paid for. The first time VP said they would help make it right and got the run around for sometime and then never heard anything back, tried calling several times leaving voicemails and nothing. The first time back in May 2025 we had No heat day of appointments they called and said sorry we have no one to service your equipment, please reach out two one of these two companies they will over warranty work, ended up paying $503 Over the summer they came out and did a tune up one the Equipment back to fall had November no heat morning of the appointment they call me at 9 am saying that they have no one to service my equipment the person quit on Friday and I need to call one of these 2 companies to get service done. Now out of pocket another $150. I have written to Brandon and Josh both serval time on same email and haven't heard anything from either. Now its December and I am without heat again, have called email receptionist has put in request for me to receive calls and nothing. Don't waste your time or money with this company his F.A.R.E standard is nothing but a joke. No customer support. read more

We purchased a home with a heat pump system installed by Josh and shortly after we moved in it had issues of leaking. He came and topped it off a few times, then when the capacitor went out on the condensing unit he wanted to charge us $330, and I told him no and went and bought the capacitor for $27 and it only took 10min to install, so we stopped calling them for service and a few years later the eval coil froze and split and after calling a few contractors we realized how bad the system really was from the start! The interior unit is a 4ton air handler and the exterior unit is a 3ton and the line set is not for either one of the units! The duct work as you can see by the pics is horrible and the filter area looks like an angry beaver got a hold of it! Since the duct work isn't correct the unit has air flow issues, and this was part of the reason our upper floor was always hot and cold. We now have to replace this unit, which is only 10 years old at the cost of $20k. I would NOT recommend this contractor to anyone! read more

As a first time home buyer I have little experience maintaining a home by myself so I called JM mechanical for a furnace tune up right when I purchased my home. Every aspect of my experience with this company was great, from the scheduling to the appointment itself. The technician was thorough and also very informative, taking time to explain the ins and outs of things I needed to understand/look for as a home owner as well giving me helpful advice. Their services are fairly priced. I also appreciated that they sent a profile of the technician to me when he was on his way so that I could properly identify him when he got here. I was having problems with my furnace. JM Mechanical was the second company I called out to inspect it. I loved how professional this company was from start to finish. The scheduler was polite and covered all of the options to fit my schedule to get a technician out, we scheduled, they gave me a very reasonable 2 hour window (the first company I had out gave me a 9-4 window) and Jason with JM Mechanical came out actually 10 minutes before the window started. Best word I can use is professional, but I also felt Jason knew exactly what he was doing, he was thorough and diagnosed the problem and knew exactly what was going on right away. I would recommend this company immediately to anyone that needs service for their furnace. Professional, on track, knowledgeable and friendly. I am not quick to write reviews, but I felt this company deserved the recognition and I would rate them a 10 if that were an option. This company will be the one I use from here on out! read more

We called JM out to repair my AC unit, and he brought some parts and tried a few before using one. I was charged for the part and it turned out to not be the right one, and caused the rest of the unit to short out. They came back, did not guarantee that work, and tried to install another part that made the situation even worse and charged me for that part, did not guarantee the work! The technician Robert obviously didn't know what he was doing. I confronted him about it, and he was so upset that he left my house and left his gauges behind, that he returned a day later to get! They do NOT guarantee any of their work! They take your money and run! I guess if they fix something and it works for awhile, people are happy. If they don't fix it and charge you for it, like they did, people are NOT happy! I ABSOLUTELY do NOT recommend using this company! I originally called Logan A/C & Heat and less than a minute into my first ever conversation with their company, their receptionist told me I needed a new HVAC system before I could even tell her what my issue was. I decided to try a different company and so I gave JM a call to see if they would be more open to hearing what my issue was before telling me to spend $7500 on a whole new HVAC system. I'm SO glad I called JM. Brandon, my technician from JM, was here within two hours of me calling, and had the issue fixed within an hour. He was extremely friendly, explained everything in layman's terms, and even did a diagnostic on the rest of the unit to make sure there wouldn't be any more issues popping up soon. Pricing was fair, and a fraction of what Logan A/C & Heat wanted to charge me for work that I didn't need. I will be returning to JM for any HVAC needs I have, and I suggest you give them a call for any needs you may have also. Great people. read more

We needed a new heat pump HVAC system. After getting a couple of estimates we found JM, and they delivered on cost, installation, timeliness, and follow-up. This is a professional group that cares about their customers and does what they promise. Josh (the Owner) came prepared with quotes based on our phone inquiry, and he made sure everything was done exactly as promised. The installation team we had was Jason and Alex, and they arrived on time, worked very hard, cleaned up completely, and were friendly and polite the entire time. Called JM. Super nice people on he phone, Julie and Corey. They were quick to send out a boiler technician, Robert, to fix a leaky valve. He was a very nice person but did not have much experience on boilers and had to ask someone else what to do. He then recommended I put on a new expansion tank instead of replacing the valve. Cost of $345 with service call charge. That would be fine but he bought the wrong kind of expansion tank and screwed up the pressures in my boiler. JM sent another technician, Brandon, another really nice guy. And he told me I needed a new boiler. He threw out it was going to be about $12,000. I called two other boiler people and both technicians after looking over my boiler said I was being sold a bill of goods. The boiler was fine. The proper expansion tank was all that was needed and now I have to bleed all the lines because of the mistakes JM made. (Several hundred dollars in man hours). JM reimbursed me (I think) only $265 of the original bill and said they did not want to fix their error. "Get someone else" Their website says they are the best in Cincinnati. They are surely not the best at boilers. I felt like they were trying to up sell me and put in a new boiler. Brandon told me he had installed hundreds of new boilers. Bottom line: nice people but be careful and get another opinion if they try to sell you a new furnace/AC/boiler. read more
