I reached out to her about combining my late father's wedding ring and my late mother's center stone from her engagement ring into a necklace so I could have them together again in some small way. Jennifer suggested I bring any other items I might want to have repurposed so I brought a few other pieces of jewelry of my mother's and my late grandmother's engagement ring. The second I met her, I knew she was not only talented and professional but also someone who would honor the memories that were attached to each piece. She listened with kindness to my parents' sweet love story, and allowed me to reminisce about my wonderful grandmother and immediately began to think of ways to honor their legacies. She sent me back designs that were exactly what I was imagining, but could not articulate. It was like she read my mind and my heart. She was so kind, so professional and so creative. The first two pieces she completed were gorgeous necklaces that can be layered or worn separately, allowing me to have the memories of my favorite people together. We both cried as she clasped them on my neck. She is continuing to design new pieces for me so I can use the very special jewelry I inherited, but in newer more modern and safer ways (ie repurposing opals from rings and bracelets into STUNNING earrings so they will not be damaged.) She also took such care in removing the stones from the engagement ring settings that should my child ever want to use either ring, all we will have to do is put the stones that are now in the necklaces back in their original settings. What can I say about Jennifer?! Jennifer has designed several pieces for me (an my sisters) and she is really as talented as they come. My husband decided he wanted to surprise me with a 10th anniversary band to go with my engagement ring/wedding ring set. He chose JMaxwell Jewelry to work with him to design something special. Jennifer absolutely delivered! My ring ended up with 5 marquee diamonds to represent the 5 years we dated, and 10 round diamonds to represent the 10 years of marriage. It was such a unique idea and I was completely surprised! I get so many compliments on the ring and it looks great next to my simple engagement and wedding bands. I can imagine my husband was not an easy client either - he is an artist and a perfectionist, yet he was very happy with the result, including the quality of the stones. For my (rather unusual and alternative) engagement ring, Jennifer went beyond our expectations with her ability to convert our ideas to CAD renderings to actual jewelry - but more importantly, took the time to listen to our ideas thoughtfully, and build on those ideas taking into account best practices in jewelry-making and design. We were able to meet in-person once when she had the wax versions of the ring to share with us, but otherwise the majority of our interactions were virtual in order to be safe during COVID. Despite the virtual nature of our interactions, she was incredibly quick to respond to our initial inquiry, build on our ideas, get CAD renderings way faster than any other custom jeweler we were also exploring, and did so in the most professional and caring manner. Jennifer makes absolutely lovely jewelry! She sat down with us and listened to what we wanted and even was willing to work within our budget. (She's letting us order the wedding rings from a wholesale site so that we can stay within our budget, in addition to designing the engagement ring to have a more open design; less material = cheaper) We gave her a collection of pictures on Pinterest so that she could get an idea of what type of engagement ring we would like (something nature-inspired, a bit vintage-looking), and she worked her magic and came up with a couple of beautiful 3D models of possible rings. She ordered wax prints of the models so that I could try on in person, and once we picked the one we wanted, it only took her a couple of weeks to make the actual ring. Jennifer is just the best at what she does!! Several years ago I wanted to update my wedding rings and incorporate some diamonds that I had from a ring of my grandmothers. I have used Jennifer for three custom pieces, one diamond ring and emerald ring and one stunner custom piece that repurposed my mother's engagement ring diamond from 1968. The last piece was intricate with petals and tons of pave that surrounded the diamond center stone. It is a true masterpiece. I have referred Jennifer to many friends who have used her to re-purpose old diamonds and create wedding bands. Everything I have seen is just gorgeous. She is very easy to work with and the creative process is fun from the start to seeing the final product. I contacted Jennifer to do a custom engagement ring to help me ask the big question. She was exceptional at turning what felt like silly ideas into an actual physical object, one beautiful enough that I wouldn't feel like a dope holding it out to my partner. The process felt as collaborative as I wanted it to be and Jennifer was available, pleasant, and helpful. The product was beautiful and she does great work, but you can see that for yourself in the pictures. One of my now fiancee's relatives said it was "the most beautiful and unique rings" she had ever seen. You can't see the service, but mine was tremendous.
