A year ago we got to the point where we had to do something with our gravel driveway. There was an…read moreold maple tree that had to come out in part because of the roots or making the driveway difficult to negotiate. We made the decision to excavate the stump and go with a concrete driveway and for that purpose I contacted a concrete company that had a good name. That person was fine except that I didn't have the impression that he was listening that carefully to me. When the estimate came back it included something that was considerably different from what I asked for. The second company I called was Quality Concrete and Masonry. Bryan Halder came out and my experience with him was entirely different. He is very personable and he is a good listener. He engaged with me so that I could see that he understood what I wanted. When he came back with a quote, not only was it exactly what I wanted, it was also $1000 under the other company. Quality Concrete and Masonry did a wonderful job and we were so pleased with them that I contacted Brian when I decided to use pressed concrete for our patio instead of the tiles that we were thinking of. Again, his quote was reasonable. They came out on time. They were professional and also friendly. They again did a great job and we had absolutely no regrets that we had them do both jobs for us. I have attached some photographs. Our backyard is still a work in progress but in the driveway and patio are near perfect. There's no question that we will call on Brian for any future concrete needs. I recommend him to anybody without reservation.

In June 2014 my husband and I bought a house and we needed our existing fireplace to be repaired…read more We asked Auburn Concrete who is locally based to make it a working gas fireplace. An estimate was written in July for masonry and a gas log but they did not set up a date for it to be done. After the quote was written I never received a phone call telling me when they could come out and start the work. I called them several times leaving messages that were not returned. My husband and mother also left messages that were not returned. Finally in October I reach more than an answering machine. They said that they could come out and work on the masonry portion. When they finished it looked great but to my dismay a week or 2 later a bat crawls out of my fireplace opening. They didn't put a screen around the flute of the chimney to keep the critters out! I left a distressed message and urged them to put one up. They came and took care of it immediately. I called again about a week later thinking that they should start the work on the inside soon. I got the answering machine again. Called again the next day at a different time. No answer. My husband called, no answer just the machine. We left messages every time but we were not called back. My mother then tries to call, she gets an answer. They said oh yeah we'll come out and measure and have it done by thanksgiving. Thanksgiving came and gone and it still wasn't done. Along with Christmas and Easter. It has now been a year. When I do get a hold of the guy I need to talk to he says "I don't know anything about it, call "so and so." When I get ahold of the other guy he says the exact same thing. Over the course of the year we have left 70 messages to which they keep making promises to do the work they started long ago. They had to come and remeasure the inside of the fireplace 3 times because they lost the measurements. They asked to be payed for the work that they did outside but I said, "I still don't have my working fireplace." After months of trying to get a hold of them with no success I decided to set up an appointment face to face last week. They finally set a date. So this morning I waited, waited, and waited. An hour goes by so I call them. They took my name and acted like they never heard of me...... They said oh he had to run or an emergency or something. They never called to tell me they wouldn't be able to make it. It is now halfway through June 2015 and we still don't have a fireplace. We just wanted a working fireplace not to be treated like our business didn't matter. Wish I could give them a negative score.

Shawn Bell is a smooth talker but it's all BS. My patio still looks like crap and I paid $1200.00 for it to look that way. That's pretty slick...did you post your reply after I told you on the phone that "I was done with you!" You call and offer to redo my patio tomorrow. You can't seal a patio in the rain and it has to be above 60 degrees!!! And NO you didn't answer my emails. I sent them to the office. I offered to settle for a refund of half of what I paid for the sealer and no pesponce twice!!!

His work looked good, but then about a week later, I realized that the slabs adjacent to the house did not appear to be tilting away from the house. So I checked the level of the concrete, and sure enough they were NOT tilting away from house. They were not tilting towards the house either. They were simply level with the house. So I did not think much of it, since they were not tilting towards the house. But only one month through winter, A HUGE crack appeared across the entire patio, and the slabs began tilting TOWARDS the house, and water started pooling against the house. So I contacted Shawn to let him know of this huge problem. He refused to admit fault and was rude, and refused to do any fixing.
