We hired JMR Home Services for a basement finishing project that began around September 2025. Unfortunately, the experience was very stressful. Communication and project management were inconsistent throughout the job, which required far more homeowner oversight and repeated follow-up than we expected just to keep work moving. Several workmanship and finish-quality issues arose during the project, including items that remained unresolved near the end. A walkthrough was conducted, the full balance ($50,835) was paid, and the county completed the final inspection and issued the Certificate of Occupancy. Despite this, remaining finish items were not completed and follow-up stopped. Closeout communication also became unnecessarily confrontational despite our consistent good-faith efforts to resolve issues and bring the project to a proper conclusion. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this company. read more

I will never use JMR Flooring again. We were not advised it would take a full 5 days to lay tile and grout our kitchen. They did not have to do any demolition or replace the baseboards. We took care of those items. There was only one installer that was at our house from around 9 to 7:30 daily. 2 installers could have reduced the install time. We were charged $120 to remove debris that was left in our front yard. They charged us for a tile that cost $3.49 a sq ft but installed tile that was $1.99 sq ft. All in all the tile looks good I just hope it stays that way since I have zero trust in this company. read more

I called to have a quote for a fence and a closet addition in my home. They showed up on time and were very professional throughout the process. He offered several ways to get the results that I wanted. The lady who answered the phone was very nice and when I needed to reschedule, she was very helpful. They texted a reminder of appointment and emailed the quote and followed up with a call after. Although, I did not end use getting this done because my closing fell though, I will use them when I do close on my new home! Highly recommend! read more

In the end, I was very happy with the result. Cost was good, quality was good, but speed was just OK, hence 4 stars (aka: Fast, Cheap, Good; Pick Any Two). During the kitchen remodel, I accumulated many little frustrations, mostly around speed and communication. But now that everything is over, most of those frustrations seem unimportant. Note that this was a full kitchen remodel with some minor demolition and rebuilding, new electrical, some new plumbing, new hardwood floors, appliances, and painting. JMR, and Luis were very polite, willing to listen to my ideas/thoughts, and made a sincere effort to have this project come out the way I wanted it to. So, kudos to that! However, project planning was a little iffy, and I could never count on things getting done when they were predicted. I seemed to be constantly waiting for someone to show up. Also, the promised "project manager" never really materialized, requiring constant vigilance on my part. Most of the work seemed to be done by sub-contractors. But they were invariably polite, listed well, and for the most part did very nice work. More kudos for the contractors! Aside from some communication barriers, I can't complain. I would recommend JMR for your next kitchen remodeling, assuming you are patient, and are available to provide input and guidance throughout the project. In my case, a "go-away and come-back when finished" approach on my part would not have resulted in the end result I was looking for. But since I was around, it was great. Thanks, JMR! read more

If you are considering using JMR Home Services, here are some factors when making a decision on selecting this contractor. I contracted with JMR in Oct for a simple bathroom build out. The required work was in a 8x8 area to install a toilet, shower, and a utility sink, along with floor tile, wall towel on one wall, and a suspended ceiling grid. I was told it was a 2 week job. The work started on Nov 4th, and was completed 16 weeks later. While the work done was good, the management of the project was terrible. I never knew what work was going to be accomplished or when, as workers would sporadically show up unannounced. The challenging part was the workers generally spoke little to no English. While I don't have a problem with that, JMR management sent the workers out without adequate information for the job, which left me trying to explain the required work to the crew struggling with language issues as much as I. In addition, what information they were given was inaccurate. The Sheetrock person showed up with 20 pieces, when only 2 were required. They also put Sheetrock up were it didn't belong, and had to be cut back out. The ceiling individual showed up with enough materials for a 20x20 room, 400 square feet vs 40 square feet needed for the job. Their pricing was very high. For example, $950 to install 2 sheets of drywall, and $600 to install 40 sq feet of suspended ceiling grid. The only thing JMR was excelled at, was collecting their payments. read more

This company threatened legal action on me if I didn't take down my negative review. I refused. Don't trust the 5 star reviews. They most likely threatened all the other negative reviewers with legal action as well. I was originally quoted the remodeling of my bathroom would take two weeks. It took two months. Communication between the estimator, contractor and management was not good. I was told the reason why it's taken so long to complete the work was because the manager never paid the contractors so they were not going to come out and finish the work until they got paid. I called the manager and he told me that they were not truthful and that he would get it fixed. Another two weeks went by and no one came over to finish the work. I finally called the CEO of the company (Julian Munoz) and they were there the next day to finish my bathroom. My bathrooms look like a novice did it. the walls aren't smooth there's lines everywhere there's holes around the door frame where they had to repair the wall, the shower faucet leaks water. During the remodel I was told that a dumpster would be put in my driveway to place all The trash in but, that never happened. Trash blew around in my backyard and on my front porch for a week before I had to call and complain because my neighbors were complaining that trash is getting into their yard. And the CEO of the company never called me back so that goes to show you how they treat their customers. Weeks after posting this review they tried to give me a bunch of free stuff to get me to take it down but I refused and that's when they threatened to sue me. They admitted to wrong doing and thought the could fool/threaten me into deleting my honest review. read more

Originally estimate time to complete all work was ~1.5 weeks and was to be started in 1 week. Upon agreeing to work, was informed most important part of the work couldn't start for over 1.5 months; which would seriously delay property listing, and I requested that scope be removed. Remaining scope took over 3 weeks to complete. During that time, company argued that installation of one closet door and the adjustment of the front door and installation of its trim was going to cost an additional $1,050 over the already high price. These additional funds were requested despite there being no change in scope of work for either door. Because of my project management experience, I was able to argue that work be performed at original cost, but had I been someone without experience they would have simply been paid undue funds. Several small scopes of work that were requested during original estimate were not included in detailed proposal (my fault for not properly reviewing each line item). Company required payment for full day of work for one painter despite scope taking only a couple of hours. No tape/not enough tape was used during painting resulting in paint on floors, light switches (no outlet or light switch covers were removed during painting), counter tops, and multiple other locations. read more

They did an awesome job. They did our interior in half a day. Quote was the lowest of all the quotes. They were professional, on time, always answered the phone. Great job matching the previous paint perfectly, saving us! Went beyond others and painted the baseboards, other painters wouldn't even with higher quotes. When they left, the area was vaccines and cleaner than when they got there. They really look to do the best and they cared about customer service. We've used JMR in the past, and unfortunately the quality has really gone down hill. We had them help with a relatively minor kitchen repair/update, and finally gave up hope that they would ever finish. We needed them to repair and pain cabinets, and we still had drawers that wouldn't close and cabinets misaligned 6 weeks after the project should have been completed. My husband finally repaired our cabinets himself - even the ones JMR said were as good as they would ever get. We had at least a half a dozen appointments where no one showed up. We had at least 3 different crews come but no one came to explain what needed to be done. The last crew that came told us that they were embarrassed at what a terrible job the previous crews did. After we complained, we received assurances from our project managers (Camillo, Fellipe), our estimator (Bray), the main builder (Bill), and the owner (Julian) that they would get this done. It never got done. Really disappointed. I gave 2 stars because we had a good experience in the past with JMR and because they did a good job painting our house, but I would never hire them to do anything ever again.
