    Shishito peppers appetizer

Arrived at dinner time on Sunday night (in season) with no reservation, we were sat immediately on the top deck, which was our ideal table. Margarita was great, we ordered three appetizers, and they all were 10/10. Wedge salad, shishito peppers, sunset shrimp. Emma, the server was helpful with the menu, friendly, great conversation. Zach, manager was great also, he helped us get seated quickly and followed up on our way out. Incredible view, lots of outdoor seating, great food. Highly recommend

It was recommended we visit Marina Joes. We had a great experience with reservations and I really appreciated the follow up the day of the dinner. We arrived on time and were seated upstairs overlooking the were. The dark haired hostess was a doll. It did seem the support hostess needed to learn a little more as we watched double seating gone wild. Our server was nice but the wait for food was exceptionally long. That said the food was really good. The best meal was the Poke Nachos. We know it's a newer spot so probably still working out the kinks!

Overall: killer location, great views, attentive servers, but a bit expensive for what you receive. The bartenders need to be a tad more generous with their pours and the kitchen needs to hone their seasoning skills, especially with their side dishes. Our two-top arrived at 5:30pm on a Wednesday evening and we were pleasantly greeted by the hostess, then quickly seated upstairs after a quick glimpse at the waterfront bar on the first floor. Obviously, the main dining room is great for large parties - we saw several eight, 10- and 12-top tables seated when we arrived. That said, the room itself was very (very) loud, but the view overlooking the waterway certainly made up for the noise. We kicked off our meal with a pair of cocktails and shared a salad; the Front Porch Swing ($14) came with well-worthy Jim Beam bourbon, watermelon puree, lemon juice and peach bitters. The Cucumber Paloma ($16) featured Hornitos tequila, "grapefruite and lime huice", and muddled cucumber. While quite refreshing, the drinks were certainly light on booze. The Roasted Beet salad ($14) arrived quite quickly with bright red beets, fresh spinach, candied pecans, a generous topping of goat cheese and apples wedges. Our dinners came out just as we were finishing our salad - the "Crispy Chicken" ($30) featured a half "flash fried" chicken on top of rather thick gouda grits and charred asparagus. The skin on the chicken was super crispy, but the meat was quite bit dry. My date's Glazed Salmon ($32) was a rather smallish 3-4oz salmon filet topped with a citrus-y soy sauce and microgreens over flavorless, gooey mashed potatoes (if I had to guess, the mash was made with dehydrated potato pearls). Instead of broccolini, she got the same charred asparagus as my dish. We hoped to save the evening by enjoying one of their signature desserts - the Homemade Banana Pudding ($12) arrived in a small Mason jar and tasted just like the pre-packaged puddin' mix Granny used to bring to the monthly church dinner. Sigh! We look forward to giving Marina Joe's another try - maybe the Tuna Poke Nachos and Dockside Steak Melt.

We went to Marina Joes on 7/3 which was a crazy Friday night. Usually places on the island don't take reservations bc they know they'll be packed, but this night they did. We did not have a reservation but arrived early enough 6PM. The hostess was super accommodating by saying we could sit at the bar if there was room and eat off the limited menu. No problem! The place was slowly filling up but we had the (beautiful) bar to ourselves. I ordered a cocktail and he ordered a beer. We then got the picnic order which was a hamburger, hot dog, potato salad, baked beans, a bag of chips and a prepackaged cookie. Not bad for $20. I ordered the kids one which had the hot dog and the sides which was $10. They were smart to have someone grilling this outside to accommodate the ones without a reservation. The people with a reservation were able to pick off a pre made menu. Smart when you know you're going to get slammed! The staff seemed to be busy and the ambiance was pretty but LOUD. We had a nice shot of the inlet - to our backs, but one day we'll check out the outside deck and get the better view. Since we didn't try anything off their typical menu, we aren't able to make a great decision on their food. Will try again.

The absolute best vibes and food. If you are in the area don't miss this spot. We came in from a day on the boat and the owner was so welcoming! The sunset views are unmatched!

salads were edible, burger was undercook and greasy, crab dip tasted off, the view wasn't worth the price. I'm a local, won't go back.

It's not on the printed menu, but you ask and your wish shall be granted! On Wednesdays they also offer $15 bottles of Prosecco. Yes you read that right $15 for a BOTTLE of Prosecco. We started with The Amelia cocktail, which was refreshing and well-balanced. For appetizers, the Sesame Ahi Tuna was incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. The C.A.B. Ribeye was the standout of the meal--tender, flavorful, and cooked exactly as ordered. We also shared the chocolate mousse, which was smooth, decadent, and the perfect finish. I think it was the special because it was almost ready for the dumpster, She said she thought the sauce tasted odd. But later her stomach wasn't feeling well I ordered the steak sandwich, And specifically asked if the steak was chopped up, As I do not like fat or gristle in the bites of my steak sub. It was large chunks of steak that the fat had not been trimmed off of there were a lot of bites that I had to simply expel onto my plate. When Kimmy our server, asked, how was the meal? I told her and she could clearly see that I did not eat most of my steak sandwich and I had spit out a lot of it. When the overpriced Bill reached our table, A tall man with a big beard came to the table and asked how was the meal? I told you him about the steak sandwich. And he asked, If we were locals I said yes we were. And he said this, Well, maybe we can take care of it the next time you're in... HE SHOULD'VE TAKEN CARE OF IT THERE AND THEN Not sure what that's really means, Since now I will never be going back. And neither should you As you read the other reviews, it is CLEARLY an overpriced menu. With overpriced drinks Just like the Owner's other "bar and grill" in Sneads Ferry Spaggia (sp)? We went there a while back and found the same thing to be true. I think they're a "couple" from New York and wanna come down here to SouthEastern, North Carolina and charge New York prices Now, I reached out to the owner the next day and never received a call back. My advice. Don't waste your time OR your money

It was clean, loud, good loud filled with conversation and laughter. Unfortunately, my pasta was extremely overcooked. It was so soft that I couldn't even pick it up with a fork without it falling apart. The photo shown shows just how shredded the pasta was when I picked it up. The sauce itself was delicious, which made it even more disappointing because the pasta was basically mush. I brought it to their attention, and they apologized, but then told me the kitchen was closed. I believe they stop serving at 9:00 p.m., and it was only 9:03 p.m. when I mentioned the issue. Whether the kitchen was technically closed or not, fixing the dish would have only required boiling a small portion of pasta and adding some of the sauce that I assumed was already prepared. I mean it was literally 3mins past 9pm there's no way they cleaned the kitchen and packed up that quick. There were still multiple tables here. Instead, I was told there was nothing they could do, though they would remove the item from the bill. While I appreciate not being charged, I don't think that was the most appropriate solution because it essentially meant I didn't get to eat a main course. My husband still had his meal, so at that point it didn't seem worth leaving or trying to find food elsewhere after already spending around $70 on dinner (the pasta not included). If it had been much later in the evening, or I wanted to add something to my bill, I would have understood, but being only a few minutes past closing made the response feel disappointing. The flavors were excellent, and up until that point the experience had been very good. I really wanted that pasta too haha. The sauce was so good. I hope they handle situations like this differently in the future.

The seating and lighting were great. Our server, Kayla was very professional and efficient. As one might imagine, a seating of 14 can be difficult. She handled us with aplomb! Many different items were ordered. I started with the wedge salad where the iceberg lettuce, blue cheese crumbles and bacon were the stars of the show. I ordered the duck breast for my entree. The fat was perfectly rendered and the puréed carrots pair extremely well with the richness of the deck. A must have with the duck is their in-house made pear martini which blended perfectly with the fig sauce served over the duck. My husband ordered the Shrimp Cocktail as my appetizer. The shrimp were plump and perfectly steamed! The cocktail sauce was fresh made and delicious! His entree was Pistachio Butter Scallops. They were served on a bed of polenta with a side of haricot verts! The scallops were sautéed to a point where the edges were just ever so crispy while the interior of the scallop was tender and sweet! He said this was one of the best meals he'd have ever had and we've dined at many 4 & 5 star restaurants! I almost forgot to mention the bread service! We were offered either a Baguette or Focaccia bread. The focaccia was so outstanding, we bought an extra half loaf to bring home!!! Even though we were both happily satiated, we shared their pan fried pound cake with salted caramel gelato and chantilly cream for dessert! It was simply amazing! The management staff and chef came to our table to check on our service and meals. They were very appreciative of our glowing feedback! We'll definitely be coming back!
