I received quotes for work to be done on 2 properties. Not a huge job ($3000) but a solid variety of tasks that allowed me to see if this is an experienced company that can do the jobs well and reliably (installing ceiling fans, bathroom exhaust fans, weather-stripping exterior doors, tightening a few loose toilets). They said that it would take 4 days to complete our job. So I waited 3 weeks until they could scheduled us in. At the end of the 4 days, this was what was completed: 1 ceiling fan installed in a bedroom. Nothing else. 4 days to install a ceiling fan? The injury to insult was the total lack of communication from the office. Not one single email, text or phone call after I left multiple messages as to what the status of our job was. We had tenants moving in the following week so I sent an detailed email to cancel and explained what went so terribly wrong with this job. No reply. Just an invoice for the 1 ceiling fan. I found a different handyman who singlehandedly completed the entire scope of work in 2 days! without complaint or fanfare and $840 cheaper.
