Extremely disappointed in A-1 Budget Plumbing. We recently needed to have a water shut off valve…read morereplaced outside of our home and scheduled A-1 Budget Plumbing to do the work for us. The work required a plumber to dig a small hole, turn off the water, replace the valve and turn back on the water and re-fill the hole. A-1 Budget Plumbing was advised and understood this. A-1 Budget Plumbing arrived on a Friday, proceeded to dig a much larger hole than needed, throwing the dirt/grass on the sidewalk (making a mess) and when the valve was exposed the plumber said to us that he needed to leave because the company had him scheduled for other jobs and would not be able to come back until Monday. Leaving a large hole right next to the sidewalk over the weekend (which is a liability issue) AND being unable to finish the job he was scheduled to complete! (I took off of work for this?) What made matters worse is that the plumber charged over $300 for digging the hole (and doing zero plumbing work) and LEFT. That's right, straight up evaporated; with promises of coming back on Monday. We called the company, who's office manager aligned that the decision for the Plumber was in accordance with their processes and he was booked for the day. So despite being advised of the work prior, having a scheduled appointment and making sure that I was home to assist if needed, none of that mattered because he was busy and therefore procedure is to abandon the job for the day and come back later while charging us $300 in the meantime for just digging a hole and with additional charges when he "comes back on Monday" for the actual plumbing work. I do not know about you, but I do not think its appropriate/good business practice/customer service or even common sense to leave a pre-scheduled job half-complete. Its not like this was a major commercial job or anything out of the ordinary, it was a simple residential service call. I ended up calling another plumbing company who solved the issue in about 45 mins and was much cheaper. Never using, advising or speaking highly about this company. AVOID. Call someone else.

Very clear communication throughout the three to four messages and he was able to place me into his schedule on 4/18. Day of our appointment Kristian contacted me to inform me he had a previous appointment rescheduled by a client and asked if he could start the job earlier which worked out great for me. After the job was complete he showed me the completed work and walked me through how to use the new isolation valve he had installed. He even cleaned up the work area so it's like he wasn't even there except for the new equipment he installed. From my initial inquiry for an estimate to project completion was less than three calendar days. Finding a business that provides a timely estimate for a project and follows through by doing what they say when they say they will do it is exceedingly rare in 2026. Support local when they're as amazing as Kristian and Elite Drain Solutions, no drama, no delays, quality work done right.

The job was to install a door from our laundry room to the outside. My 78 year old partner had tried to install it himself after waiting 3 weeks for a Home Depot installer to contact him. When the original door was removed, it was clear to see that the opening had been modified. The original door was not the correct size for the opening. We had already bought a door from the original door measurements. Knowing that we would not be able to do it ourselves, I contacted Kama'aina Handyman.
