I found Dr. Monaco after extensive research, looking into cosmetic dermatology work as well as Botox (I was unhappy with a prior (painful) Botox experience with a different doctor). I absolutely adore Dr. Monaco, for all of the reasons that other reviewers mention, but also for the little things that we take for granted but shouldn't. For example, she doesn't "dumb it down" when talking to you - she treats you as an equal, and considers your questions thoughtfully before answering. She's a straight shooter - she gives you her medical advice and opinion, but she humanizes her responses; for example, when I was considering the pros and cons of mole removal on my face, I asked her "what would you do if it were you?" she thought for a minute, and then gave a considered, thoughtful response, with both pros and cons. I love her for that, and for making me feel like we were in this together, as a team, not as some coldly remote, impersonal doctor-patient experience. She doesn't push you, she lets you decide whether you want to proceed or not. She gives all of the pros and cons, and makes sure that you are informed as to what to expect. Like the fabulous doctor that she is, she manages your expectations, clearly and with full disclosure. And she definitely doesn't make you feel silly for asking a million questions. She's patient, kind, and takes you seriously. When I decided to go ahead with the mole removal, she was brilliant both in technique and bedside manner. She also follows up with you, checking in to make sure you are healing well and to find out if you have any questions through your recovery. She treats you with kindness but also respect, she remembers the little things you ask, and she responds to emails and follow-ups. Oh, and as for the Botox? She's my new permanent doctor for that too...she not only did an amazing (painless!) job, but she also explained little things to look out for with Botox handling if I decided to go someplace else. Again, her attention to detail is second-to-none. She's gentle, doesn't overdo it, and lets you know that her door is open for touch-ups if you want it. And her prices are absolutely reasonable. After years of (dreaded) painful Botox injections, I finally found Dr Monaco, my OG Botox doctor. I went there for Botox injection on my chewing muscles and she gave me 15units on the larger side and smaller amounts on the other side. I had desperately wanted a breast reduction after year's of back pain and was very nervous about having the procedure done. My immediate impression of her was how compassionate she was.
