I came here this morning shortly after opening. That's when you need to shop at Joann if you don't want to stand in line. Although I come here often, I get bothered by the long lines at the checkout. I will up my stars from my previous review because the young man helping me at the register today was very kind and helpful. I was returning stuff without a receipt, and there was an issue with my return at first. He maintained great customer service and solved the problem. All was good. As I browsed the fabric, the apparel fabric aisle was more organized than all the other times I've come here. I hope they consider the crafting/sewing community that supports this store and keep it up. Note to Joann corporate office: You must hire enough workers to work the cash registers and keep the store organized and clean. Every time I have gone in the bathroom--only from a dire emergency--I've wanted to cry because they were so dirty. Please care about your employees and shoppers by giving them a clean environment, or they'll go elsewhere. read more

It's sad to see all JOANN stores are closing, and they're going through liquidation sales national wide. This store is very empty inside, and things have been moved around, very hard to navigate specific items. It's totally understandable that their staff worked the minimum to keep the operations, they made billing mistake and I found out later, well, all sales are final. read more

On Saturday August 26th 2023 at 3pm I came in to pick up merchandise that I had preordered. I walked in and saw the pick up orders behind the registers that were not in use but said pick up. Mind you there was only one cashier on duty with line of 10 guest waiting to purchase their items. I went and got the items that I had already purchased. As I was trying to to leave the cashier told me that she was supposed to grab them and looked at me like if I was stealing. I proceeded to show her my email confirmation for the pick up items. And she told them to leave them on the counter and she deal with me after she was done with the customer. Horrible services! I know she's in a bad mood because she's the only cashier but that doesn't mean she can give attitude because they are understaffed. Plus ordering online to pick up is so I don't have to stand in line waiting. What's the point of preordering if u still have to wait in line. Never coming back to this one. The location in Pasadena is way better and the staff are super nice. read more

I never give bad reviews. But this is an exception. The customer service here is below subpar. Especially one lady in fabrics with an attitude for days. I've worked in retail for decades with the highest level of customer service and have SO much grace for mistakes but when you're in an industry that's customer facing, you actually need to help people and not make things more difficult for your customers. This Joann's is really nice, it's very spacious and bright! I came here to buy my mom her crochet yarns and oh boy they sure have lots of them in all shades of the rainbow and some more! Not knowing which and what to get I asked for a staff's help and they were very kind and helpful! Happy to say that my mom will be crocheting for quite some time as I bought a sh*t load of it (maybe she could make a crochet curtain? Lol Aside from yarns, they do have a multitude of arts and crafts goods! so if you want to explore that hidden creative genius, you might want to visit this store, they have all the goods to assist Da Vinci and Michael Angelo. OK I got to see a few things, what is about the location and the other is about the pricing. First of all, be prepared to wait if you come here. Somehow everyone at the checkout stand is cartoonishly, slow and seemingly in capable of doing anything with any expediency whatsoever. I have literally stood in line for 10 minutes for two transactions ahead of myself. It's ridiculous. Secondly, I have literally walked in and barcode, scanned items for prices, and found them through Amazon at more than 75% less from the same company,. For example, today as I was there, I intended to buy two stacks of 12 cotton squares. It's cotton, in squares. The retail price was $46 per stack. I pulled up the company website and pricing on Amazon and they were $9.99. While I know Amazon can get a better deal because they buy in bulk, it is impossible that the wholesale cost that Joannes fabric is paying is causing them to market up six times the price that's available online. My advice, find what you need, get it online and skip the wait, because if you happen to be 56 or seven people deep in line, as you sometimes, unfortunately are at this location, you're going to be overcharged and lose an hour of your life. I'm a crafter absolutely addicted to craft shopping! I love going to both Michaels and Joann's for materials. However, Joann's has more selections and better coupons which is why I keep shopping here more! Also, shotout to NAR ! whose name I asked because Im always impressed with his customer service. He's the only one that's been truly helpful and attentive when I have questions or checking out. I work in customer service myself so I know a good one when I encounter them. Overall a good store, I would just suggest having more WE R MEMORY KEEPERS paper tools available and Heidi swap MINC accessories. read more

Very poor customer service by olivia. There were signs all over the yarn section that we was on sale. When Olivia rung my items, not a single was discounted. When I questioned her, all she can say is its not her fault that the machine didn't do it or someone must have forgotten to remove the sale sign. She refused to give me the discount so i said i have bo choice but to just return all the items. She refused and told me to go back in line if im will return my purchase. I don't quite know why this location is open or how it maintains to stay open. There's hardly any employees willing to help let alone enough to be able to assist with anything. There's always a long line to check out, yet there's only 1 cashier at the front. Today, I came in and there was only Pamela at the front, an employee at the cutting station, yet there were several in the employee lounge who were what it seemed like just hanging out. I understand that everyone needs to take a break, but all at the same time?? Bad management. Speaking of why I was headed to the back, that's where the restrooms are and I had to use the restroom. It was filthy as it always is and there wasn't any toilet paper, I had to use the toilet seat covers. When I brought this up to the cashier she said "Thank you for telling us, we don't know about these issues until someone says something." I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING!! Most other stores have an hourly Bathroom Cleaning Schedule, so that tells me that the Manager isn't doing their job delegating the simplest of maintenance. On top of that, the phone kept ringing, how do I know that?? Because we all heard it over the loudspeakers. But when someone DOES actually answer, and you're looking for something specific, they don't know what's in stock, whether it IS in stock or willing to go see if it's in stock. Corporate really needs to send someone to check up on this location as well as to retrain their Managers or even rehire new Management That's all why this is a 1 Star Review.....I'd give it no Stars, but I have to leave at least 1 read more

The customer service is the worst ! I went to buy a table cover .. the person who was cutting the fabrics "Crystal " was the worst !!! I asked her where I could find table covers ? And she replied; over there .. I asked over where ? And she again ! Said over there .. until I asked her to come and show me where ... it took her tor eveeeer to walk us to the isle .. after finding the cover which was vinyl.. she told me in a very disrespectful way " now bring it to the table so I can cut it for you " It was freaking heavy and I had to carry it to the table .. she cut it for me and folded it in the worst way possible! Chris or Kris (not sure how to spell her name), was so helpful in every way. The lovely long haired brunette at the cutting counter helped me with my yardage, suggested where out of stock patterns could be found, hooked me up with some empty fabric bolts that would have been thrown away (which I will organize my own things with, thank goodness) and helped me to my cad with what was hard to carry alone in a cutting counter lull! Very kind about it all. (Deserving of a raise in my opinion- she went above and beyond in every way. Even convinced me to get more yardage than I was planning on as she was able to align me with a sale!) Great things to choose from too at the store. Love this Joanns location. I found mugs for my mom and dad's birthdays as well as everything else I needed. The check out lady was so kind too and she helped care for the things I purchased and to wrap them up carefully so the sequins fabric even was safely cared for. read more

I want to truly say "Thank You" to Franky, the "manager" during the day at JoAnn's on 02/05/2022. She went above and beyond in honoring my online order because the "online order website" really SUCKS! If it's not the "wrong" address (which was NOT wrong), then it's a required "email" which I already input! In my frustration on trying to order online and do a pick up at the Glendale store, I finally printed out each web page evidencing my order, the price, the total order and why my online order was rejected! After one cashier couldn't help me because: 1) She didn't understand what I was trying to say; and 2) she didn't have the authority to override the cash register to match the price per skein that was indicated as an online order price. She gave me over to the "manager" and surprise surprise -- it was the cashier right next to her. Franky was intuitive and she understood my dilemma with the JoAnn's website right away. Gave me no hassle, sold the 14 skeins of yarn at the same price as was online and I went away a very very happy buyer. Thank you, Franky! read more

Okay, so for some reason I remember Joann Fabrics being, like, only fabric. But guess what? It's A LOT more than fabric. Baskets and home stuff, craft kits for kiddos, and some actually cute holiday decorations. Even now, in late October, they've got tons of Christmas stuff on sale for 40% off (go stock up if you're in the market). They actually have sales in almost every section, but I think the prices on some of the items are a little high to begin with. They've obviously got lots of fabric as well, everything from costume-y patterns to nice stuff you could use for upholstery. I found some nice linen for a home project--they didn't have quite as much as I needed, but I snagged what they had and I'll be back again. The staff cutting fabric was really friendly and helpful. Masks and distancing were enforced when I was there and the parking lot was huge with plenty of spots to park. I'll be back for more home projects soon! read more

This Joane's was DISGUSTING. I went in to use the bathroom and I was surprised to see there was no paper towels and the hand dryer was completely dysfunctional. I am now left to assume all joann's employees don't wash their hands properly. I was expecting to be helped once I informed this older white lady of the situation and all I got back was a snarky remark "oh really" and she stormed away from me. I have been going to this joann"s for YEARS never have I been treated this poorly by someone who looked like they were a manager. This Joann's apparently thinks cleanliness is a joke. You guys need more help. Lots of stock at this store but never enough clerks cutting and there are consistently long lines at the registers. I ordered an embroidery hoop and floss and there were no hoops (despite the website saying there were) and so I had an order with 3 skeins of floss only. I went in and picked it up myself at the store and asked about cancelling the order. They said it would cancel. Well it didn't, NOBODY answer the phone and I was charged anyway. Someone contracted Covid 19 here yesterday. That's why they randomly closed in the middle of the day. It would have been nice if they reached out to people who were picking up orders or even just put up a sign. But none of that happened. Knocked on the glass door and they just said they were closed and were completely unwilling to help or converse at all. Poorly handled. Won't be shopping here until Covid is over completely. And maybe not even then. Shameful customer service. How hard is it to put a sign up that says "Sorry we had to close unexpectedly." Legit hope everyone's okay but seriously this is what managers are for. You handle things when junk hits the fan. Instead, hundreds of people were inconvenienced and possibly put at risk of exposure. Drove 1+ hours to this Joann on Dec 22 to get my girlfriend a Christmas gift. It said online they had it in stock. But when I asked the manager for assistance, she claimed that the product was "in the back" and refused to get it for me. The people working here are beyond disrespectful. They have zero customer service. They don't want to help anyone with anything. The manager left me standing there and told me that her time is up and shes clocking out rather than helping me find the fabric that I wanted. I asked the lady who was cutting the fabric if there was one piece available in that specific fabric and she cut me off and told me whatever we have is over there. Over where ?!? there's over 10 isles of fabric how am I supposed to know which one it is.
