I highly recommend Jacob and his team at brilliant drapery design! They finished my curtain install today and I love it. I purchased the fabric from overseas and was very nervous about something happening to it bc I can't afford to replace it ($$$) but Jacob came thru! He lined it so it's blackout and created a second, lined, semi sheer layer for when we want light in the room! Installation took a couple hours and everything was super smooth. Jacob also took the time to explain every detail to me when designing the curtains, which ended up saving me $$$$ bc I needed less material than normal. I had spoken with many other companies ( in hermosa beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo beach) who didn't give me any of the options Jacob did and would have cost me so much more in the end. One company even flat out turned down my whole job bc I found the material $50/yard cheaper on my own and they wouldn't work with me anymore since I said I'd supply the material. Jacob had no problem and spent so much time and energy explaining everything to me. I have two more windows to do and I'll def be going back there to him! read more

The photos posted by Jacob of the "Upland Project" are of my home. I will post pictures of the actual work completed. My drapes and motorized shades for three areas (formal living room, dining room and bedroom) were poorly done. They weren't cut to size. The installers left marks and dents on my walls. They made wholes through my windows, left cables exposed with workers fingerprints throughout my walls. Some of the cables were attached with scotch tape. Clips hanging on the side of the drape. The most egregious of all, my shades simply don't work. They are torn from getting stuck as I open and close them. After begging him to come and reinstall new ones, he only came back to make minor adjustments. $16k+ all required up front. He asked for deposit upon order and balance prior to installing which I later learned is against the law. Beware of his promises. He is tactful upon closing the deal but his work is subpar. I regret using Brilliant Drapery Designs. I feel taken I was taken by Jacob. He was present throughout the entire installation so it baffles me that he is ok with this service. read more

I went in looking for shirring tape and fabric to make drapes and I was first helped by an older lady, who didn't speak much English, so Jacob came out to speak to me. I asked for the price of the shirring tape and they said $1.50 per yard, now having found the SAME EXACT shirring tape at other drapery stores in the area for $1 and some online stores for $1.30, I asked them if they can go lower. This time, Jacob went to find an older man, maybe his father, and when I asked if they can give me a lower price, the older man was very rude and said that $1.50 was their wholesale price and they couldn't go any lower and if I saw it cheaper elsewhere, to just go there. So that was exactly what I did, I walked straight out and went to DK Drapery Hardware and got it for almost half the price from the SUPER helpful and FRIENDLY salesperson, Leo. Brilliant Drapery Design is ridiculous, and while Jacob might be friendly, the older man was SUPER RUDE, I didn't even want to inquire about the fabric. I will never be coming here again; I'm an interior designer and I will tell everyone I know to avoid this place like the plague. There are plenty of stores in the area that offer the same stuff with better service and better price. read more

This store attracted my attention by accident. Just between the super low price fabric stores in down town LA . Their main products is drapery fabric and hardware The store is not very big but in the very organized showroom part , you can see more than 300 different beautiful and modern look curtains when you just getting in and start to browsing . They have their own work room for big custom made projects. A Plasma TV shows slide show of their artistic work . They do Amassing jobs with super gorgeous fabrics. The smooth jazz music that is playing in the back ground creates a very romantic atmosphere too .Totally different than all the neighborhood stores. Their prices are vary. Very nice decorative tassels you can find from $8 ea. or cheaper.!!! They sell many samples of custom made work for standard size in half price from $25 to up. Bought 5 panel after looking at several store. Price were fair, selection was exceptional. Took them home, tried the color, Oh no, it was wrong color and oversize. Came back to store, end up returning all and just bought two small size and they cut the height just for $10.00. I got the refund even though the sign said otherwise. I am happy overall. read more

I initially made the comment below and gave Brilliant Drapery Design a poor score. I was contacted by Jacob after he viewed my comments on Yelp so he could resolve my problem. Jacob personally came to our home and repaired our drapes. He did charge me $500.00 for a new motor, which he said was half of his cost and did not charge me labor. The drapes work perfectly so far. He also gave me a written 5 year parts and labor warranty. 3/17/2015 Don't do business with these people. Jacob will rip you off! We spent $5,000+ on motorized drapes for a movie room, the motor stopped working within 6 months and although the motor was under warranty, Jacob said he would not fix it because the drapes were too heavy. He is the one who installed them! If they were too heavy, why did her put them in! Your warranty will mean nothing...Buyer beware!!! read more

Beautiful beautiful curtains! They got some elegant-looking traditional designed draperies and some modern ones. I've been to some other drapery store too but Brilliant's collection is so very nice. You gotta walk around the store to really appreciate the quality. They got some reasonable prices and sell everything from hooks to rods to fabrics to ready-made curtains to, yeah, you get the point. The sales people in there are so accommodating and informative. A+ for service, A+ for products. Thank goodness! Our room looks so pretty now, it feels so good to be in here. This store is amazing with lots of curtains to choose from, may it be traditional, modern, and remote controlled drapery. Jacob is an awesome businessman to talk to, he's very professional and very accommodating. I made a mistake with the length of my curtains and it was so easy for him to accommodate my custom request. High quality custom made draperies at a reasonable price. If you order the "display" versions cut to standard 8ft height the price is outstanding and many styles are ready to walk out with that day. Alterations to shorter lengths are reasonably-priced and mine were done next day at no extra cost. The stitching is excellent and they hang very well. Highly recommended. read more

I checked so many places for fabric and drapery for my house but the prices were too high on what I wanted and finally I was introduced to brilliant drapery through a recommendation of one friends who just had his house done by them. I went to the store in down twin and met with Jacob, they had a huge selection of fabric and designs , he had a lot of patience and spend a lot if time with me then he came to my house a measured all the windows and doors . When my drapery was ready he came with the installers to make sure I am happy. The drapes look wonderful and I am so happy. This was a good experience . Because it is a Brilliant family own and operates company that carefully works with its customers to understand their needs and make gentile suggestions. We worked directly with Jacob who provided exceptional care and knowledge of design, measuring, and providing solutions for two very large and very high up skylights - he calmly worked with us to choose the right material and arranged the perfect installation. Due to the size of the skylight and the material required Jacob's team walked up 12 floors with all the extra long materials to get them into the apartment. The installation was not easy, but quietly and professionally the team installed two fantastic working electric skylight shades. We couldn't be happier with the service and professionalism. This is in response to the business owner's response on 9/20/14. On the second visit, I did NOT forget to omit anything regarding my ability to inspect the items on the second purchase/trip. My wife and I were specifically told that WE WERE NOT ABLE TO OPEN MERCHANDISE on the second visit. I do not want to speculate why, but from a seller's standpoint, make your own assumptions. As my first review, BUYER BEWARE. "Business owner": when making your posts on Yelp, please consult carefully with others in the store regarding actual events occurred during a described transaction/Yelp review before posting here. When I informed the older man and wife that I was posting a Yelp review regarding my treatment here, they did not appear to know what Yelp was. Hopefully they realize that their customer service will/can be talked about in forums/social media such as here on Yelp. And this can affect your company image, etc. Additionally, you need to consider responding to customer posts a little sooner than over 1 year later. Other customers may not be able to accurately recall events, much less your store staff. Luckily, my customer experience was one that will never be forgotten and am glad to share it here. Great shopping experience! I'm a DIY decorator and needed a professional opinion on a custom look window dressing. Jacob was awesome in helping out! Being unsure of what I wanted- I consumed about 11/2 hours of his time. He was friendly, patient and helped me to put together the most economical package for oversized drapery rods. Knowing I was trying to get out of town before traffic, he rushed to have it ready in 30 minutes. I measured incorrectly and when I called he was very generous in offering to correct my mistake.
