I called ahead to confirm if this location had children and adult Chef hats available for an upcoming event. I spoke with sounds like a manager, I believe Michael or Stephen, which he was certain that they did Not have any chef hat at all for sale. He went ahead and informed me, that chef hats are a seasonal item, they they do not carry. When I asked if he was certain, because it seemed to be year round, on my previous vist. I visit anyway, sinceI was in the parking lot. And sure nuff, they had the chef hats in both size, exactly like I knew. Child's -$8 Adult - $10. They offer 10% military discount. I had a return an item, which I tried to return it within the same month of purchase, without a receipt, which they just refused to even consider it. I've soon located my receipt, and held on it to since 2016, and they took in consideration on tonight's return. Which one rep, called the manager and he returned it, and give me my money back, which went to tonight's purchased, on the Chef hats (that they certainly did NOT have). Once you find someone or they finally come out of hiding, they're seemingly friendly at a glance, as if they have to be nice but really don't want to. Fake!!! The sale/clearance didn't seem to be at good prices... marketing tactics, mark them up higher, just to put them at clearance/sale at their normal price. This store needs to get it together. When you walk around you'll see 3-4+ people that won't ask you if you need help/assistance finding anything. Then when you get to checkout there's never anyone there. There's a button to press for a cashier but I've done that, even saw a worker sitting on the floor by the register stocking and made noise with my cart to kinda push the transaction part of my trip along. Blocking humans out must be a requirement for hiring! I was literally 1 of 2 customers in the store. Do you guys not read your reviews?! Come on Joanne's manager! read more

I came here with my kids this morning who were excited to get fabric for their beds. From the moment we walked in, the staff was staring at us rudely. It was very uncomfortable feeling their judgmental eyes on us. They acted as if they don't expect kids in a craft store. I was actively trying to keep my kids quiet while I looked at fabric which I would have spent a couple hundred dollars on. The employee yelled at my daughter not to run which I wouldn't think much of if it came from a helpful place. Then, the woman who I assume was the manager said loudly and rudely across the store to keep my kids by me while I shopped. My kids were near me. These women obviously don't have children or think they are running a museum. If they truly had a problem with us, they could have handled this in a professional way. Miserable witches. read more

They are open and serving during Covid 19, so 5 stars. Thx! HOWEVER FYI: they close @4pm. I arrived at 3:38 to pickup online order. I walked up to the door as phone calls aren't answered. Employee announced to the 3 behind me that they were no longer allowing in store shopping for this afternoon. But they did fulfill online orders. If you plan to shop in person, get here earlier. They are following CDC guidelines so only 10 shoppers inside at a time. For online ordees, make sure you have your order # as that's what they are using to search for you. read more

Went here about 20 minutes before closing after I discovered that Michael's doesn't carry fabric. I was looking for some tulle to make a tutu, and they had the colors and styles that I had in mind. While the woman at the fabric counter, I found the other few small items I needed. I apologized to the cashier about staying until closing, and she made friendly conversation about it. I've worked in retail, so I try not to be one of those annoying customers! :) Will definitely try Jo-Ann again for any crazy fabric needs I have! read more

When you order in store pickup it leads you to think the product is in the store and your order will be processed and you do not need to stand in the long line outside the store. This is not the case. I plan placed an order about noon Monday and got an email acknowledging my order and in their cute manner - don't hear here until you get your email letting you know your order is ready. At 7:00 pm tonight I go an email my order is ready except they close at 4:00 pm. So if you are ordering anything to pick up from Joann's Fabric shop expect next week. I tried to call but no one answeres the phone. read more

Paid for the item. received an e-mail that they were getting it ready for me but to wait and they will let me know when to pick it up soon. It has been 2 days and I have never heard another word from them! I have contacted them thru the email address they furnished numerous times with absolutely no response! We went during the week and there were only two employees around. One was cutting fabric and one was in the back. Someone needed to check out and another needed to do a return and he guy cutting fabric had to call them to the register because no one was up front. The fabric was not straight that he cut and it was suppose to be 50% off but I was charged full price. When I went back later in the week to get the price difference there was only one person checking people out and the lady she was checking out was taking a long time so I waited over five minutes for one customer. The cashier didn't know how to handle my price difference since I had my receipt emailed to me. She also gave the wrong price for 50% off so I had to correct her. She finally asked for the manager to help her and she gave me part cash, said part would go back on my card then she had me pay again for the correct price. Don't know why she couldn't just subtract the difference and give me the cash but oh well. After over a week my refund finally showed up. This location is older and not as nice as others I have been to. Won't go back. read more

This is the worst store ever. Always a long line at the fabric cutting counter with one person working at a snails pace. Then when it's time to check out no one can be found so you stand in the same line with the same people from the fabric counter while you wait for the snail to make her/his way up front, sighing the whole time because you are inconvenienceing them so. And it doesn't matter because there aren't any other fabric store options besides the horrible Hobby Lobby up the street with even worse service. Why try when crap is good enough? I get heart palpitations every time one of my children has a project to do and I know I'm going to have to end up here. I've had time to compose this entire review while standing in the fabric cutting line, and I'm still 2 from the front. Sigh. Oh JoAnn! read more

This is one of the only stores in the area that sells fabric, the other being Hobby Lobby. Their fabric selection is good but the quality has gone down and prices have gone up, but that's everywhere. While they have a nice selection of sewing notions, patterns, and books, they are becoming more and more a home decor store. Their prices on home decor is ridiculously high but they have a lot of sales where it gets marked down 50-75%. For the most part, the sales staff are friendly and helpful but not always that knowledgeable. There seems to be a lot of turnover and the store always seems to be understaffed. Depending on when you go in, you can get a friendly, helpful, knowledgeable sales person or otherwise. I'm an avid crafter and sewer so I'll probably keep shopping here but I'm finding myself driving out to the Katy location more often and shopping online. read more

Not a good experience here and won't be back. I said I needed 80 inches of fabric several times and even showed a diagram when the gentleman cutting fabric was confused. Maybe he was confused because he's used to working in yards. Fair enough, but the ruler in front of him clearly showed 36 inches in a yard and his calculator would tell him this is 2 yds and 8 inches. He cut my first fabric then started the 2nd and was about to cut it too short m. At that point, my husband opened the first piece of fabric to make sure it was correct and it was wrong. It was 77 inches. His coworker yelled out to the guy what we needed and even customers behind us in line. His response? He said he wasn't awake yet. I wish his coworker would have come to help since she wasn't busy. read more

I have always enjoyed shopping at this establishment. However, today I picked up my schnauzer from the groomer and needed to stop and pick up some fabric. I did not have time to drive home and drop her off so I stopped in and took her in with me. She was in a harness and a leash. I was not about to leave her in the car in the heat. (Which is against the law) I was told I needed to leave since my dog is NOT allowed in the store. What is the harm honestly if she is on a lease and harness and sitting in the basket? This store has lost my business for good. All other stores have allowed her in before as long as she is on the leash. read more

I was just shopping for a last minute Christmas item and was helped by a very kind and considerate employee in the fabric area only to be fussed at by the manager who came over to inspect why a customer was allowed to use the store scissors to cut edges off the fabric. The employee was respectful of store requirements to not provide that effort for a customer but agreed to allow me to borrow the scissors to help me out for my quick need to have the fabric available for a last minute gift wrap. I am sure the aggressive manager fussed at the employee as well and I hate that the kindness showed by a staff is not recognized as positive customer service. I placed an order on Jones website for curbside pick up. It stated on the website it should be ready in a few hours. I waited a few hours and never got the confirmation email that it was ready for pick up. I called the store and spoke to add I. Add I was so rude and condescending to me telling me that it would take days for my order to be processed. She told me I should have read the website better and that this was my fault. Needless to say I canceled my order. They charged me anyway. I am still waiting for my refund. I called the store in spoke with a Michael to follow up on my refund and he again told me it would be days before my refund would be issued but he did assure me my Order was indeed cancel. I told him of the horrible service I got from Addie and he hung up on me. I called back and told him how dare he hang up on me and he hung up on me again. I called back a 3rd time and spoke with this supposes supervisor who is OK with the way her employees treat customers. She told me that my business really didn't matter anyway. Needless to say I will not be doing business at Joann's fabric. read more

Went and got a yard of fabric cut for the back of a panel quilt. Got home and realized it was cut askew by almost 3 inches. Called to see if they would recut. Anthony put me on hold (or transferred me? Not sure) and didn't come back for 18 minutes. I drove all the way back to the store before anyone picked up. When I got there they only had a remnant of the fabric left and the manager, Karla, very RUDLY said "well what do you want me to do about it?" She also informed me that it isn't their responsibility to make sure it's cut straight. I can think of a handful of ways they could have rectified the problem, but getting an attitude wasn't one of them. returned the fabric and will just drive to the Katy location in the future. read more

Had a horrible time here!!!! The women at the cutting station were terrible! I had already been waiting a long time & the two lady's in front of me go to the desk & they aren't even ready to get their fabric cut. So thy stand there talking about what they're gonna do for 10 mins while other ppl are waiting in line. The women who's supposed to be cutting those rude people's fabric is just standing there staring at them. Finally she asks them to go to the side so she can actually help people. I'm next so I go to the desk & they ask for a number, seriously?? I didn't take a stupid number, nobody told me to take a freaking number. She's like oh well you have to have a number. Are you freaking serious??! You've seen me standing in front of you for like 40 mins cuz you're so slow!! So the butt face who was working next to says "she wasn't waiting that long" to which I just have to respond well I sure did wait way longer here than I ever have at Hancock fabrics or anywhere else for that matter" & a nice lady behind me in line told them to let me go since I had obviously been standing there in line the whole time. The women who FINALLY cut my fabric told me they take so long cuz they're helping people & talking to people. Really? Cuz you weren't talking to anyone you just stood there and let them talk & waste everyone's time. & the other lady didn't talk to her customers either. Ugh I hate it here. I have it two stars cuz the selection is pretty nice, but Jesus those people are annoying read more
