I love Joann Fabrics. All of the craft possibilities makes my inner old lady jump for joy. On this trip to the store I purchased fabric to reupholster chairs. I went up and down the fabric aisels for what seemed to be hours, but I had a blast. I finally found fabric that I couldn't live without and to my surprise in was 40% off. WINNING!! Went to this store last night in search of fake flowers for an arrangement and some embroidery floss. Asked for assistance finding the floss and the employee had no clue. Then when checking out the cashier could not figure out the prices on any of the fake flowers so I was unable to purchase them yet she still asked if I wanted to buy them.... Finally after attempting to swipe my gift card no less than 10x I had to interrupt and say just use my credit card. Pretty disappointed, will not be visiting this location again any time soon. Not what it used to be. I usually would go to Joann's for two things. One was for scrapbook supplies. Two were photography and journaling essentials. Which now they carry very little of each. It is more Joann Fabric and little less crafts. Went in looking for material to create blankets for rescue dogs. The lady at the material counter was great. She made conversation and was very pleasant. She actually was the best part of the whole experience. Look through the scrapbook section and it has dwindle down to mostly color paper and some embellishments. I am not sure that is that the hobby is dwindling and not people are really are not purchasing from there anymore. ordering on the app for curbside pickup is so convenient. we make custom shirts and hoodies and use the gildan brand tshirts sold at joann's. often they are on promotion and more affordable than amazon. when i get an order but dont have the size, i can place order on app and pick it up shortly afterwards. you receive a notification when the order is ready and respond with car make and color when you are on the way. this part only works part of the time, so then you just call the store upon arrival. very convenient. i feel bad when it's obvious that the store is understaffed. read more

I like this place but it needs more people to help the customers. It took a lot for me to find someone to help me. It needs a bridal section, which it really doesn't have. At least it's well stocked and the people I did finally find were respectful and willing to help as much as possible read more

I LOVE Jo-Ann Fabrics! I'm an avid scrapbooker and this place has so many deals. Don't get me wrong I still go to Pat Catans and Michaels, but I feel I find most of my great deals here. Not only do I find stickers and paper to be cheap, the picture frames are always on sale! I love picking a few of them up for gifts. They have a wide selection of cards too, plus cute things for your home. One of the downfalls is the customer service. Every time I go to Jo-Ann Fabrics, there is quite a long line. So BE PREPARED TO WAIT. Not that you are going to a craft store in a hurry, but still be patient, these people take foreverrrr to ring you out! But they do give a lot of coupons out and have really great deals, so maybe that is why their lines are so long all the time. I felt humiliated by the fact I'm telling her I don't want to go back and forth about my fabric cut. However, she kept getting louder and louder with me. And after calling the manager whom I discussed the disruption. I still felt that she was unapologetic towards me and made me fell uncomfortable in the store. I like coming to this store because of the larger selection of fabrics. However, I may have to reconsider going to the store closer to my home. I know I need to beware of her at the cutting counter. Ordered 23yds of fabric from Joann.com to do a curtain wall. I needed to be able to cut 7 pieces, 3yds each. (I ordered 2 extra yds 'just in case') I received 5 separate pieces in varying lengths to total the 23yds! Nothing was usable. What were they thinking?? Be wary of buying fabric online. While waiting to return it to the Great Northern store (which was closed due to a power failure) another woman told me her friend had a similar experience. read more

Ok, seriously, I have had it with this place. But because it is the only fabric store around and I sew for a living (on short deadlines) I can't usually wait for mailorder supplies. There are very few high-quality fashion fabrics unless you really love polyester or enough polar fleece to outfit the entire Military. I rarely buy without a coupon because let's face it, that's how it works. They up-price everything. My major complaint is the service. It stinks. Today, for the upteenth time, I went to the cutting counter and watched as the very sour-looking clerk cut my fabric off-grain and not even in a straight line, and then proceeded to not give me the sale price. I also overheard a conversation in which the clerk was unable to answer a woman's question about "what is the difference between these interfacings?". JoAnnETC is definitely more Etcetera than fabric. Great for the hobbyist but not so great for anyone who really values their time and money. I suggest more training for the obviously unhappy employees. Ugh. read more

Unbelievably bad customer service! They sold me a rotary cutter with a cracked blade and then refused to exchange it or otherwise fix the situation. Their excuse? Because I bought it on clearance (the package had tape on it--I didn't care about that!) there's "nothing" they can do. Ok, so let me get this straight: you think it's ok to repackage and sell broken tools that cannot be used and then hide behind "policy" to cheat the customer? Even if I had been willing to accept this as fair (it clearly isn't, they stole my money and did not provide a functioning product), I couldn't have even fixed it myself since they have no replacement blades in stock! They cover the gamut from bad to worst! This is supposed to be a "superstore" but their old Lakewood location had better selection and service, and you didn't have to wade through forty aisles of tacky WalMart dreck to get to the sewing supplies. Thanks for stealing from me, Jo-Ann! Stores like yours are the reason people shop online! read more

No matter what day, no matter what time, there's always a line at the check out. There have been times when I leave the line and just walk out of the store and go elsewhere. As a stitcher, I was always able to find something new and high end to embroider or cross stitch. Now, their selection is virtually void of inspiration and I'm going on-line more and more to find my stitchery projects and equipment like needlepoint frames. Not going to find it at Joann's, that's for sure. read more

DON'T THROW OUT THAT USELESS WEEKLY FLIER ! It isn't useless. Trust me. I always threw out those advertising fliers. Then, one day, I had to make a number of purchases. I had no coupons and didn't know about any special department-wide sales. It came to about $200, but what I didn't know then, didn't hurt. The following Sunday, however, I thought it might be worth looking over the weekly offers. Great discounts---not just the 50% off a single item, either. The week after that, they were offering 50% off all notions---I needed about $100 worth ($50), and then about 2 weeks later they were offering 50% off buttons, so I purchased all they had of one style for a special job, and they honored more of the same on a special order, too---around $200 ($100). A couple weeks later, 3 different imported precision scissors. That was about $100, and after the 50% discount, $50. Amazing savings. Truly amazing. These were all quality items at fair full prices, but half-off can't be beat. It had been several years since I'd been entrenched in any serious creative project, so these fantastic sales were a welcome discovery. This taught me to keep those fliers until they expired just in case I'd need something for a new, unexpected venture or just for something to keep me busy. (Like yarn. Another limited time super sale. I made about 8 crocheted hats in less than a week, all for just a few dollars each. I was like a machine---couldn't stop. I scared myself. Really.) You'll also learn to wait for some sales, and postpone purchases until one arrives. So, if you're anything like me---and aren't constantly doing something crafty or artistic-related---at least hold onto them for a week. You might save hundreds of dollars like I did. As far as long lines, I've never encountered that-----or long waits. Everyone is helpful and friendly. Just an over-all pleasant shopping and savings experience in this well-lit, clean, well-stocked store. **** Three years ago they did a beautiful job on framing 3 original oil paintings---all at a great 40% off. read more

This JoAnns is amazing and the best around town. It is huge and always has stocked shelves with amazing products and fabrics! Even their carts have a cell phone holder so you can use your phone while you shop the store! I love it so I can reference my list as I go! They send out great coupons if you sign up in store, and they have an app that has additional coupons you can use on the store as well! Sometimes the dates are a little tricky, I seem to always be there the day before everything starts, quite the bummer. They also have great classes that you can register to take. I took their intro sewing class and had a blast! You can bring your own machine or they have ones there for you to use as well. The other girls in the class were great and a few of us even went out for drinks after! read more

This is for the Viking Sewing Studio found inside the store, not related to the Joanns store or staff. We decided to try to purchase a back up sewing machine in case our main one broke down. The machine we picked out didn't work out for what we wanted. This was the hardest place to return a machine. The associate was not listening to our reason for return and completely insisted of testing the machine and trying to explain what we were doing wrong. Our household has a combined experience of 15+ years of sewing costumes of various fabrics. They constant spoke over us and always needed to provide an explanation, even looking up an account. I'll start with what I like about this location. It's very large and always has plenty of room for each of its departments. This location isn't the closest one to me but when that location doesn't have what I'm looking for (which is far too often) this one has it. For the most part, the associates are friendly and helpful. Which brings me to the reason I deducted two stars: that one manager that has no business working in retail. It's so bad you can describe the bad situation and they instantly know who it is which is really BAD. I ordered an item and chose to pick it up in store. My other location didn't have it and I needed it for a gift and had to order it online (more about that later) to get the best price. The only thing they do when you order online to pick up in store is get the notification walk back and grab item scan it and have you pick it up. Well they promise it will be ready by closing time if you order by a certain time which I did. I got there an hour before closing and they'd still not grabbed my item. The manager gripped that I'd come early before I got the notification (some law had been broken.....) but it was almost closing time and they'd had 11 hours to do this simple task. And I've had other unpleasant interactions with this manager. I go to joann's to decompress and find my zen not hear this manager's constant complaining. read more

This is a comment on one single experience. I do not frequent this particular store. I went in asking about the not-so-uncommon craft of "resin cast molding" and the employee I asked was less than personable and certainly less than helpful. She had no suggestions to make on where in or out of the store to find what I was looking for, and I suspect actually didn't know what I was talking about. read more
