This was a zero star experience. The way that the manager treats customers here there is no wonder why It's closing. Condescending and rude when she opens her mouth. I was talking to my husband about finding the fabric I was looking for and before I could even reach down to look at it a grey/blue haired manager comes from the office area. She says to me, "you do understand that the cutting area is closed don't you?!" In the most condescending tone I have ever heard a "manager" speak. I could hear the gasps of other customers two rows away. Unbelievable. I don't care if the store is being closed down, you don't treat your customers that way. The items I did have in hand I brought up to the register to let them know I would not be purchasing. I would say don't shop here, not like you will be able to for very much longer anyhow. read more

It looked like the store was closing. Shelves were empty and there was trash on the ground. There were boxes everywhere so I'm not sure if I just happened to catch them in between a big redo of the stock but it was a Saturday afternoon and I would think they would do huge stock swaps on weekdays. I've never shopped at this store in my life. I decided to use their online shopping, and I will never do it again! I had two orders, received only one confirmation. And assumed it was like most stores that provide this service, your items would be ready same day. Nothing. No email for pick up. So I decided to go in to this store. It looked like it was ran through! No one on the sales floor to ask for help. Long line down the aisle of the store. I ask the cashier about my order to pick up she asked me if I received my email to pick up. I told her no. She told me they have over 100 logged orders and I needed to wait for the pick up email. I asked for a timeframe she said she had no idea. Mind blown! I asked her to cancel both of my orders because that is ridiculous and she acted as if I was bothering her. Never again will I shop here. read more

This store is an absolute disaster! At first look it just looked like they had sold through their Halloween and had empty shelves in that area but as you get further into the store it is just a mess. Many empty shelves but rows of inventory in boxes that haven't been put out. The isles are cluttered and dirty floors throughout the store. It looks like a tornado came through and made a mess of things. I specifically stopped by to purchase some fabric but the fabric department was impossible to shop. I ended up walking out. On my way out I noticed the area where you get a cart and there was garbage everywhere. I wouldn't normally leave a bad review but I decided other shoppers should be aware. read more

Went in the store on Saturday to purchase some beads and asked an older woman (gray hair/bob) for help. She was the MOST RUDE person I have EVER encountered! She acted inconvenienced and couldn't be bothered to put down her unpacking of patterns to assist me!!! I will NEVER step foot in this store again! read more

I asked an employee if they were, in fact, going out of business and she said "no, but we are short staffed" If that's the sole reason this store looks soooo bad, then that is inexcusable! Ordered some frames online to pick up, I ordered 9, then was notified that they only had 3. Disappointed but I went and picked up the frames and went back to my car. I opened the bag and all 3 frames were broken, and there were no loose pieces in my bag so they were broken before bagged. I returned to the store to return them and had to wait 15 minutes just to get seen to. And they helped a lady who came up to the counter off to the side after I was in line. The woman wasn't even in line at all! Once I finally got to the register the girl said she was sorry then said do you want to just go grab some more, I stocked these earlier we have like 20 back there. I asked then why didn't I get all that I ordered? She said it was the websites fault not theirs cause they have plenty. At this point I had already waited in line twice to pick up and then return online order, a total of about 20 minutes just to leave without what I wanted. I did not want to go back through the line which was now 8 people. I am not sure what is going on in this store but they seem understaffed and also trying to push off broken items to online shoppers. I shop at Joanns pretty often, this store in particular is so poorly managed!! The people working there are all pretty nice and try to be helpful but there are boxes stacked high everywere!! They all say they arent given the hours to get the job done... I know its the holidays and I know things can get hectic and I'd take that as a reasonable explanation except I also go to the Tacoma and Olympia stores and they all look fine... Its this store I went in today searching for a specific fabric the gal at the cut counter tried to help me by finding the article number.. she said that really they are the only store that has any and that they have 20 yards "Somewhere" she asked someone else if they could help and they said its in one of the boxes in the store but has no way of knowing where. I rolled the dice and ordered it online but I already know my order will be cancelled because they won't be able to find it. Waited 15 minutes in an aisle for an employee to come around and open a locked cabinet that I needed to get something in then decided to go and try to find someone to help me and there was not one worker that i could find. Decided to go wait in line behind 5 people and finally got up there and asked the only person apparently working in the store if they could grab something for me that's locked up and she told me yes and asked if she could just ring out just one more person and I said okay. Went back there and waited for her to come and I watched her help atleast 8 more customers until i had to go stand back in line and wait for her again. This is super unprofessional and rude as I work in the customer service industry myself. You either need to have more people working or help people who have waited their turn or don't lock up products if you don't have anyone to open the cabinets. read more

What is wrong with this place. It's the day after Black Friday and of course with their specials this place is packed. There are people standing around at the register but the cutting counter is YET AGAIN unbelievable. I've been here for 2 hours number 90- and they are on number 50. It's going at a rate of 10 people per half hour. So ya this point I should plan on being here another two hours. What in the WORLD. You obviously are not plan staffing around specials. First time at this location and I used their online/curbside ordering. It was so convenient. The staff member that helped me verified my email and was wearing a mask. This experience made holiday shopping way less stressful. Also, my order was almost $10 off because of an online coupon! No other stores carry what you can get at JoAnn's. - and after years of shopping there I've come to expect slow service and staff who do not have knowledge of their products. Not everyone is "crafty." But I was so excited when I found you can now order online & pick up in store. I've even seen the online orders right by the front registers. So, I needed one more skein of yarn to finish my project. I ordered before they opened in the morning and it took over six hours before I received an email saying my order was ready. When I arrived to pick us there was no signage to help me determine where to pick up, but there were two employees behind the customer service desk and one filling a cart with returns next it. I kindly asked where I go to pick up my online order and was told I'd need to get in line. The line was 9 customers deep! Thankfully one of the employees behind the customer service desk said she would grab it. I asked "what is the point of ordering online if I still have to wait in line?" And she replied "Corporate doesn't give us any hours for this - so it just falls on checkers and managers." So, I won't be using this service again until they work out some bugs. It might be ok if I couldn't make it in myself and also couldn't wait for delivery. I could order and send someone, at least they wouldn't have to try to find what I was looking for. And it was kind of this person (whom I'm assuming was a manager by her tone) to grab my stuff. But it was also completely unprofessional to talk about corporate offices. She could have said "it's still a new service" or "save time shopping and get 10% off your purchase." Or if she felt I was being flip (which was not my intent) she could have ignored me. read more

HORRIBLE customer service. I placed a order for curbside pick up. It was suppose to be ready same day, and it took 3 days because the store is behind on orders. When it was finally ready and I went to pick it up, Hailey threw the bag in my passenger seat. I had to yell out the window that the package she threw in wasn't my order and she went back and forth with me saying it was mine. After a 3rd time of saying this isn't my order she asked for my first name which confirmed what I said all along, that wasn't my order. She went back inside, grabbed my order and again threw the bag in my passenger window. The order looked correct at first glance, so I moved from the pick up lane into a actual parking spot to confirm everything was correct since Hailey tossed and left. To my discovery part of my order was missing. I called the store notifying them of the error and they said someone will be out with my missing item and to talk to me. As I pulled back to a pickup lane I watched Hailey deliver another delivery which she handed to the customer and waited for them to inspect before walking away. She then went back into the store, came to my window with an attitude saying id receive a refund because they didn't have my missing item. I said okay, and then asked is it normal practice for them to throw items into cars because she threw 2 bags into my car and was totally different than the service I watched her provide to the customer in the blue truck. Again she was argumentative saying she didn't throw anything and I said yes she was, she threw the items twice because I sat and watched her and had she not thrown the package I wouldn't have had to call the store for the missing item because we could have made that clear during the original deliver. She gave a empty apology saying she apologized but she didn't throw it I said okay realizing it was pointless talking to Hailey. I don't know if Hailey is racist or just sexist. Either way I will do my shopping at Michael's down the street from now on. Better customer service and i get my pick up orders on time. read more

Definitely not the best Jo Ann store around. I go here because it's the closest one to my house. They lack in variety and selection of items. The fabric section is TINY and lacks A LOT that the bigger Jo Ann's stores have. If you are willing to drive the extra 30mins, go to the one in Tukwila. Vastly better selection. read more

Worst customer service experience of my LIFE tonight! manager JOYCE is making this company look so awful! I will never shop there again! So here's what happened... i went to JoAnns a couple weeks ago to buy a piece of foam board, of which they only had ONE! I didn't want to purchase it because it was really beat-up looking, with dented corners and small dents, but I was in a pinch so I purchased it anyway. When I got home, I decided not to use it, and made my mind up to just return it. So, tonight, I went to return it, and this manager comes and tells me that it has already been returned! ok, this board AND the receipt had sat in the entryway of my house every single day since the day I brought it home! it NEVER MOVED! She refused to tell me WHEN it had supposedly been returned already! she looked at the board (at the dents and the bent corners) and says to me "well, you didn't buy it from here looking like THAT!" I said "yea i most certainly DID!" she was so f#ing RUDE! I couldn't believe it! just a total BI#%! Make sure you watch as they ring you up at this store! They tend to charge you more then the posted price. It has happened to me before but today is the last straw. I bought 3 items All 3 items rang up a dollar more then their posted price. First off this store looks like a bomb went off in it. The line is backed up half way across the store. I came in to grab some speaker grill fabric and I walked around trying to find it with no help. Jo Ann's is a great stop for your arts and crafts needs and unlike Michaels, they have fabrics here. It's truly a one stop shop for whatever you need! They have Wilton baking supplies, zippers, home decor, beads, and a huge array of fabrics. They almost always have their items on sale and have 40% off coupons for regular priced items. Tips: *If you're waiting to get fabric cut, don't forget to grab a ticket for your spot in line! read more

4 out of 5 because their staff is amazing but they are under staffed, I'm in here about 3-4 times a week and most of the staff now knows me, the lines are long and no it's not a quick trip but I will go to this location before I go to any others just because no matter what I ask the staff goes out of their way to make sure I have what I need or atleast try and do what they can to get what I need. They always let me use 10+ coupons at a time when other stores kind of (give you the "this is too much work for me" stare.) Side note if you're asking someone for help at this store, or any store for that matter, a little kindness goes a long way, maybe ask them how their day is before you ask them for something, I know it's their job, but they're people too, working in a very understaffed store for minimum wage , trying to keep up and get everything done at the same time. You would be surprised how far theyre willing to go to help someone who shows a little effort in being kind. One more thing. The reason they take so long (this store specifically) at check out is because they take the extra time to make sure you get to use all the coupons you can and save as much money as possible, personally I don't mind waiting a few extra minutes if it's going to save me some money. read more

Hot mess. Manager Toni is not customer friendly! I ordered fabric online for Black Friday and several hours later was told that they cannot fulfill my order. I asked if she would honor the price and she said absolutely not those prices are for the people that actually come to the store (well I'm sorry I have a newborn at home and didn't want to take him out). I asked why they didn't fill my order then when online it says they have plenty and she said we had 200 people in our store and I'm not going to take it out of someone's cart... Here's an idea- make sure you have back stock of items for people doing the online orders, and honor prices if you run out AFTER an order was placed and a hold of $ was already taken on my account....Hobby Lobby here I come! read more

I love Joanns, mostly because they always have amazing coupon deals. I like to bake and be crafty so I go tot Jo-Anns for all my supplies. while they have so much always in stock the one downside are the lines. front counters and the fabric cutting counter. today I actually gouty fabric cut pretty fast only waited a few minutes and the lady working was really nice and helpful for what I needed. but the front counter registers like always only had 2 people working and a pretty long line. I usually never go to Jo-anns if i need to get in and out quickly just because i know the lines will be slow. read more

While the fabric selection is pretty good, the customer service is deplorable. I was in store and asked for assistance finding an item, no one could be bothered to help me (even though there were several women slowly returning stock to the floor) so I left without the item I needed. A couple days later, I called to verify item was in stock so I could do curbside pickup and the woman on the phone was short, rude and I felt like my call was an inconvenience. She told me the item was in stock and to order online. I did. Four hours later, my order was canceled because the item was indeed out of stock. So now I've ordered from the Kent store...and paid a shipping charge. I should have gone to another retailer to begin with and I will only go here ever again if I absolutely have too. read more

First, the selection in the Puyallup store is pretty good. They do offer a lot of coupons and you can double up. Second, the cut counter is atrocious 9 out of 10 times. Take a number when you get in the store before you shop or you'll be standing for a LONG time. If there are many people waiting and they have over ten bolts of fabric in their cart, you should come back another day. Often, an employee will cut a fabric and then fold up remnants in between helping the next customer. Or a person will walk up and ask a question while they are cutting fabric and then the employee disappears to show them where to find something. On to the checkout register, again atrocious. I was at the counter in the middle of check out and a second cashier came over and started talking to the one helping me. The one helping me stopped to talk to her - they were complaining about some system issue! I sat there in disbelief and the lady in line behind me said something to the cashier. Who went back to work with out any apology or anything. Terrible service and like everyone else...the cutting counter is a miserable place. I frequently come to this location and honestly this was the cake topper for me. I have been to this store now four times, to return a vase I discovered was broken when I got home (which don't even get me started on how I have returned paint that was opened only to find it back in the shelf the next day ) every day the line has been past the fabric and one or two checkers just taking their sweet time. It's to the point now I might just eat the $10 and venture down to Michaels because it's been months that the line is outrageous and this hasn't been brought to a managers attention? You have multiple check stands but instead continue to schedule one or two girls and no one ever gets called to the front to help? Get it together people. read more
