This is the saddest Joann Fabric stores I have ever seen. As soon as you walk in the door it has the vibe of a low class disorganized thrift store. Cluttered, unorganized, empty shelves, zero help. It was a sad place that did not make me feel good. Won't be back. read more

I will start off and say, most of the time the employees here are very kind and sweet. Getting them to actually acknowledge you is tough. I've waited at the fabric counter for one too many minutes too many times. The problem is the mess. For one the floors look like they haven't been swept in YEARS. Boxes are everywhere, cluttered back-stock all over the sales floor. Shelves are entirely empty but yet there's tons of things not put away just cluttered around in the way of shelves? They are staffed enough for people to be standing around, so why is no one cleaning the mess of the sales floor and stocking shelves? How is there so much back-stock but yet shelves are so empty?? All in all this place is a mess. They need better staffing and probably better management. It's ridiculous that such a popular craft store that JUST redid the front can't afford staffing to actually make the inside of the store look presentable. read more

This store is a MESS. We traveled to this store because ours was out of certain things that it said they had in stock online. BIG FAT LIE. We were told that they have not unpacked shipments since OCTOBER! And if you do a in-store pickup order it will be canceled even though the items are in boxes in the back. Waste of time. read more

If you are looking for wreath making supplies, this should be on your short list. That's why I ventured in. My front door would turn anyone into a peeking Tom, as all you have to do is stand there and look in. Why do they design front doors with windows like this? Well, I solved the problem by making a wreath that covers those windows. Although I didn't end up getting any supplies here, I did get some ideas, and they had a pretty good sale on silk flowers, plus they have the right size glue sticks at a reasonable price for when I run out of those necessities. I've been buying fabric from Joann's for nearly 50 years. Still have scraps from kid and grandkid clothes I made then, and make scrap quilts from that quality fabric. It's my first go-to for fabric, notions, thread, etc. They have generous coupons, unlike the other fabric stores in the area. I occasionally buy at Quilting Bee, though it is more expensive and its short supply of notions etc is quite expensive (still bemoaning the loss of Sew EZ Too....) Joanns has the same warts any other retain store has - but for me, I love this place, whether it's on 219th or in the Valley. read more

A pretty big Joann store and nice to have in the area. I haven't had any experience with individual departments / service, but the shopping is fine. Selection is wide-ranging, shelves are well-stocked and orderly, and prices are what you'd expect from Joann. read more

We're all a little stressed right now, right? I mean, COVID has taken over our livelihood, our future plans, and our lives. But seriously, shouldn't we all be treating each other with respect and compassion, rather that hostility and disdain??? I witnessed a customer walk up to the store manager, Tracy (the customer was respectfully 6 ft away from Tracy), and politely ask Tracy if there was an additional bolt of fabric in a back store room. Tracy's reaction/answer was rude, hostile and aggressive. The customer backed up and was visibly shaken, as was I as a witness. The employee at the counter that was helping me was visibly shaken and disturbed as well. I'm concerned that Tracy may need a break from this stressful situation. Hello, My six-year-old daughter made an order with my help on 11/27/20 for pickup at your Spokane store (2801 E 29th Ave, Spokane, WA). She insisted on spending her own money to make necklaces for family. I was unable to pick it up right away and called once around the December 1st and was put on hold for a very long time, someone did check the line and ask who I was holding for, after that i waited a few minutes finally hung up. On Friday, December 4th I received an email that my items needed to be picked up. I called the store and told the young lady I would try to be in that night, if not I will absolutely be there Sunday. She told me she A take care of it. Since there is a pandemic I have no one who can watch my kids. My husband is home today, I ordered my dog & bunny food for the Petsmart next door to Joann's, so I could do both. I was going to buy what I needed to decorate mason jars, and jewelry findings to match what I was picking up. Now I cannot go back to Joann's until this is resolved and I will have to drive all the way to the Micheal's store in Spokane Valley. When I saw the email my items had been put back I called to ask about it. The woman said she was the manager and offered an apology that felt like nothing more than lip service. She did not make ANY attempt to make it right or even offer any way of helping. I told her that her employee said I would be ok and if she had said otherwise I would have arranged for the order to be picked up. I wish I had recorded the call. When I asked for the district managers number, she did jot offer it to me, instead I was told I could find it online. I have worked retail for several years, in management, and I would never have handled a customer like that. Especially during a pandemic, and above all and when my employee had spoke with the customer. I would be happy to provide call records for both calls. The manager I spoke to was Ally. I have been attending this location for a long time - long enough! I have never been so disrespected in my life at a place that is supposed to provide customer service. I had my young child with me, and we approached the cutting counter...we then proceeded to wait 10 minutes while MAGGIE (the manager at this location) was away. Once she returned, it was everything BUT customer service with a smile. She huffed and puffed about any measurements that I needed from the bolts. This woman made me feel SO uncomfortable and so unwelcome. I finally began to just tell her I'll just take the remaining fabric left on the bolt. This comes with an END OF BOLT DISCOUNT, ​which she did not provide with the ticket given and did not show on my receipt. There was NO customers behind me to be in such a rush. As I told the cashier, "I get having a bad day. I get being overwhelmed (the store was extremely quiet and only had a handful of customers) but WOW." This is not the attitude to provide to bring customers in. This is not the attitude to provide to support a store and employees. This is not the attitude to support your HIRING NOW signs because I certainly would not be willing to work with or for a manager like MAGGIE at the Lincoln Heights Joann Fabric location. I will now drive the extra 20 minutes to ANY of the other locations before returning. read more

My daughter and I signed up for a knitting class at Joann's on 29th Avenue in Spokane. Due to severe weather we had to cancel and asked that the fee be applied to a future class or refund. The manager said they couldn't apply it to another class but we would see a refund in 10 to 15 business days. We waited the 15 days and called the manager again to check on our refund. Not only was she extremely rude and disrespectful, she told us she couldn't do anything because we registered online. If that was the case why tell us in two previous conversations that a refund was pending? It's a shame because not only did she lose a couple of customers excited about their services, but we won't shop at that store in the future. I'm writing a review of this Joann's and the store on Francis St. I've been to the stores many times. I am heavily involved and invested in sewing, quilting and jewelry design. I find myself dreading a visit to Joann's. The stores are inadequately staffed, resulting in long wait times both to purchase items and to ask for help. The lines for even getting fabric cut are also ridiculous. I'm typically strongly dissatisfied with their policy on accepting competitors' coupons, primarily due to the apparently arbitrary decisions made regarding which coupons will be honored and for what products. Most of the time, their policy to honor competitors' coupons seems to be a ruse to get you in the door. Seldom do the staff accept such coupons, citing an ever-changing, capricious variety of reasons that they aren't valid. The reasons range from the item already being on sale (like 10% when the other coupon is for 50%), the other store doesn't have the same item, an item isn't covered by the proferred coupon, etc! In short, I find Joann's refusing to honor their stated coupon policy at least 80% of the time. I avoid Joann's whenever possible. Their prices are high, customer service a travesty and their coupon policy a sham. If this is how business is conducted in America, it's easy to understand why we're unable to compete with other countries! read more

I didn't get the employees name, but I went to get a couple paint pens for a friends wedding. As I was looking, this employee walks past me and yells "you need a mask!" I let it go because It's not a requirement to wear a mask. Then she goes to the other employees boasting about how she yelled at a lady. I could hear her from the isle I was in. They all laughed about how she yelled at me. I went up to them and asked who had a problem with me not wearing a mask. Then the employee who yelled at me continued to harass me. I made a complaint to the cashier and will be making a formal complaint. I feel it's discriminatory, disrespectful and a poor reflection of Joann's standards for employees. read more

Had my fabric cut by an inexperienced salesperson. Her error cost me another yard of fabric(10.99/yd), and they refused to cover the cost, despite the fact they admitted to the obvious error. Be very careful....save your receipt......measure when you get home before washing or beginning your project . Bad experience...they are a national business and were unwilling to do the right thing!! As much as I Love love love being treated like a thieving piece of garbage I thought the manager Lydia (funny how another complaint on here mentions her as well...oops) was out of line when I tried to return a low quality piece of merchandise (I had my receipt) and shes has the audacity to say "well, now we have to mark it as damaged because YOU didn't like it." Today I was waiting in line to purchase a few items and I had my two small sons with me. They were behaving beautifully thank the lord because a woman trying to return an item was having a really chaotic experience with, of all people, THE MANAGER! The managers tone of voice was so rude it made the rest of us by standers in line shudder and want to look away. The woman was questioning why she had to put her PIN number in to receive her money back on her debit card and the manager was so completely and utterly RUDE to her and was huffing and puffing and grabbed the debit card machine and said loudly for everyone to hear "OKAY! That's it! I'm writing REFUSES TO SIGN!!" And the customer was in tears. Instead of gently explaining in the nicest way possible to the CUSTOMER (who they are supposed to cater to!) she was short, not helpful, demeaning and offensive. Luckily a different person rung up my purchases because I did not want her to even speak to me. She is a disrespectful old lady and LYDIA the manager needs a new job! Not one with the public!!! I've had my own encounter with her before where she treated me poorly too. I feel so sorry for the customers who are just trying to have a regular shopping experience. read more

Joann's Fabric Stores---ANY of them---have lost my business. I have a small cottage industry and buy hondreds of dollars in fabric every week. I used to get much of it at Joann's. Having a business requires me to save every dime, and Joann's coupons used to do that. I do NOT have a smart phone, so I do NOT have their ap. They have almost completely removed their coupons with bar codes from their online site, so I can't print out any coupons to use. They have coupons on the site, but the Joann AP is required to use them. And forget getting coupons through my email...if I had a dime for every time I've signed up to get their coupons, I sure wouldn't need my home business! So...since I do not have a smart phone, and thus I have NO Joann's AP, and I do not INTEND to buy a smart phone so I can shop at Joann's, I will shop elsewhere. My calculations are that they have lost about $300.00 a week in sales from me. Small potatoes for a big store like Joann's, but I betcha I'm not the ONLY one out there with this issue.
